Chapter 7 Dare to Come Back

A few minutes later, four children found an empty private room and gathered around, looking like they were about to have a serious conversation.
Boris, being the eldest, naturally assumed the role of an older brother and said to Moody and Ruby, "I'm sure you've already guessed what's going on. It's highly likely that we are quadruplets.
"According to Mommy's description of our birth order, I am the oldest. My name is Boris Bryant."
Then he pointed to Moody and Ruby. "You're the second in line, and she's the third. The one next to me is Eudora Bryant. She's our youngest sister."
As Moody listened to Boris' words, a hint of maturity beyond his age appeared in his eyes, and he nodded.
"I'm Moody Myers, and she's Ruby Myers. Just call us Moody and Ruby."
Boris blinked his eyes.
Those names actually sound pretty good!
He had a friendly smile on his face. "I'm glad to meet you all, but... Why are you here in the country when Mommy said you had passed away?"
Moody shook his head. "Daddy said that after Mommy gave birth to us, she passed away, so we didn't know about you either."
As they spoke, the two brothers understood what had happened and exchanged glances.
It seemed that something had definitely gone wrong back then, leading to this misunderstanding.
Boris smiled and said, "But it doesn't matter now. We're meeting each other now, and I can assure you that Mommy is not dead!"
"Yes!"
Eudora chimed in. "Mommy is doing great! And she misses you both a lot! After Mommy gave birth, the doctors told her that you were gone. Throughout these years, whenever she thought of you two, Mommy would be very sad.
Unexpectedly, it was Dad who took you two away!"
"Really?"
Moody's emotions were somewhat excited.
For years, hardly anyone in the Myers family dared to bring up their Mommy's name in front of him and Ruby.
If they did hear something, it was just idle gossip from the servants.
They said their Mommy was a malicious woman who harmed Myra!
But he didn't believe it at all!
When he asked their Daddy, their Daddy would always say that their Mommy had died...
Now hearing about their Mommy and knowing that she cared about him and Ruby, he couldn't help but feel particularly happy.

Eudora tilted her little head, her eyes darting around, and she spoke up. "Moody, Ruby, do you want Mommy? Do you want to be with Mommy again?"
Without hesitation, Moody nodded.
Today, when their Mommy held them, he felt warm and cozy, creating a comforting sensation that he really liked. He loved his Mommy so much.
Then, he turned his gaze toward Ruby.
Ruby, unable to speak, immediately took out a small notebook and wrote a few words.
[I want Mommy too.]
Although Ruby didn't speak, her watery eyes shone brighter than anyone else's.
Moody couldn't help but smile and said, "It seems like Ruby likes Mommy a lot too."
Ruby shyly smiled in response.
Boris and Eudora looked at her in unison, pondered for a moment, and asked Moody, "Ruby can't speak?"
Moody quickly shook his head and explained. "She can speak, but Ruby got sick and hasn't been able to speak since. The doctors said she has a condition called selective mutism."
Eudora understood. She knew about this.
"It means suddenly becoming mute..."
As soon as the words mute were spoken, Eudora realized something and immediately grabbed Ruby's hand.
"Don't worry, Ruby. You don't have to be afraid. Mommy is a doctor, and she's very skilled! She will definitely cure you!"
Ruby nodded, filled with anticipation of being able to be with her Mommy.
After the four little kids became acquainted and realized that it was getting late, they started discussing their plans for the future.
Boris said, "Eudora and I will pretend to be you two and go to Dad's side. Moody and Ruby, you go to Mommy and start building a bond with her!"
Upon hearing this, Moody couldn't help but ask, "Can't we just tell Mommy about me and Ruby's existence?"
"We can, but not right now."
Boris spoke earnestly. "My main concern is that if Mommy finds out, she'll be furious and confront our scumbag Daddy because he actually stole you two and brought you back to the country!
"And once Daddy finds out about Eudora and me, he might try to take us back and fight for custody.
"I think... The odds are against Mommy in a confrontation with Daddy, so we have to take it slowly. We can't upset Mommy. We have to let her discover the truth on her own!"
Moody instantly understood. "I see..."
While the four little kids were discussing their plans, Trista on the other side became worried when the children hadn't returned from the restroom for so long, so she went out to look for them.
Matthew, also noticing the children hadn't returned, went out personally to search for them.
However, as he passed by the corner of the staircase, his footsteps halted, and his deep eyes stared at a familiar figure that flashed by.
That figure looked a lot like Trista.
Images of Trista's face came to mind, and Matthew's expression immediately turned cold. His handsome face seemed as if it was frozen.
Trista had disappeared after leaving a note back then.
The next time he heard the news, it was two children abandoned at the doorstep of the Myers family!
And because of this, whenever the children wanted to find their Mommy, he had no choice but to deceive them, saying that their Mommy had passed away.
And now, Trista dared to come back!
Matthew let out a cold snort from his nose, and without hesitation, he followed after her.
His figure and appearance were outstanding, the most dazzling presence among the crowd.
Otherwise, Trista wouldn't have fallen for such a person back then.
The last person she wanted to encounter on this trip back home was Matthew.
But she didn't expect to run into him on the very first day.
She was terrified, and her heart raced as she quickened her pace.
It was like the more she feared something, the more it came to pass!
The glimpse she had when leaving the private room had been enough to make her lose her nerve.
She didn't want any connection with the past anymore.

She thought, "If Matthew finds out, not only will he know that I carried his children but he'll also find out that the children were born. I'll be finished!"
In a panic, Trista ran all the way to the restroom and called out.
"Eudora! Boris! Are you in there?"
Inside the restroom, there was no response.
Seeing the tall figure stepping out from around the corner, Trista panicked and rushed in without even considering if it was the men's or women's restroom.
Matthew followed closely and arrived outside the women's restroom, ready to catch Trista, but after waiting for a long time, he didn't see her anywhere.
