Chapter 28 Be Good

Matthew's face was cold as he looked at Trista. Matthew bit his rear molars and said, "Do you really think I want to get involved? If it weren't for fear of something happening to you here and ruining the hospital's reputation, I wouldn't even bother with you."
After saying that, without waiting for Trista's reaction, Matthew picked her up from the waist.
Trista was bewildered by his sudden action and was stunned for several seconds.
At this moment, their postures were very close to each other. It was so close that they could feel each other's breaths. Their bodies were only separated by a thin layer of clothing.
Matthew's profile was within reach and had a perfect contour without any flaws.
Trista regained her senses and immediately struggled, feeling embarrassed. "Matthew, what are you doing? Put me down!"
Trista's emotions were a bit agitated, which caused her movements to be a bit larger than intended.
The next second, Trista felt pain in her stomach, which caused her to gasp.
Matthew glanced at Trista with lowered eyes and sneered. "You know it hurts now. Just be good!"
Trista's forehead broke out in cold sweat, and she didn't have the strength to speak.
By the time Trista had recovered somewhat, Matthew had already taken her into the emergency room!
Soon after, Matthew put Trista on a chair and instructed the doctor, "Please take a look at her."
At this time, there weren't many patients in the emergency room, so the doctors didn't say much and quickly began asking about Trista's condition.
"Where does it hurt?"
Trista took a faint glance at Matthew beside her and responded with a gentle tone, "My stomach is uncomfortable. It should be acute gastritis caused by not eating on time. This is an old illness! You can prescribe some medicine or give me an infusion."
Trista herself was a doctor who knew how to handle this kind of situation.
The doctor nodded after hearing her and asked if Trista had any allergies to the medication before prescribing her medicine.
"Thank you, doctor."
Trista took the prescription slip active...
At this time, the people in the room hadn't noticed that there was a small figure outside the door, peering inside.
The one who came was naturally Moody.
Moody had come out to look for Matthew because he had been gone for a long time.
Moody inadvertently saw Matthew carrying Trista over here.
Moody's mood was a little excited, and he couldn't help but follow along to see what was going on...
Now that Moody knew Trista was sick, Moody really wanted to go in and check on her.
But as soon as Moody thought about going in and revealing himself, Moody held back!
However, this trip was full of rewards.
At least Moody knew that Matthew's relationship with Trista wasn't as bad as he imagined.
Moody thought, 'According to Daddy's usual cold personality, if anyone else got sick, he probably wouldn't even care to take another look.
Unexpectedly, he took the initiative to carry Mommy over to see a doctor.
It seems... that Mommy holds some special significance in Daddy's heart!'
Thinking of this, Moody became even more eager to bring the two together!
...
In the emergency room, after Trista got the prescription, she struggled to stand up and leaned on the table for support.
Matthew took a glance and couldn't help but click his tongue before lifting Trista up from the waist again.
"Mr. Myers, I can walk by myself!"
Trista grumbled after being carried repeatedly.
Trista couldn't keep her cool around this man who was so close to her.
Matthew coldly replied, "By the time you make it to your destination, you might be half dead. Don't add extra work for the doctors."
Saying that Matthew strode out of the emergency room.
Trista was left speechless.
This time, Trista didn't struggle anymore. Her gaze was complex as Trista looked at this man in front of her...
Trista felt like everything that was happening in front of her was like a dream.
Several years ago, Trista had hoped for such an embrace from Matthew so much.
But back then, Matthew was stingy and unwilling to give it to her.
Now that she no longer hoped for it, he acted this way...
So domineering and forceful that no one could refuse him!
Trista didn't want to look into Matthew's intentions any further.
Trista just assumed Matthew really didn't want her to cause trouble for the doctors.
When they arrived at the hospital room, Matthew put her down on the bed, Trista immediately withdrew herself and kept a distance from him.
"Thank you so much, Mr. Myers. I will repay this favor."
Trista's tone was distant, with a hint of formality.
Upon hearing this tone, Matthew's face turned cold instantly.
This woman...
She really doesn't know how to appreciate the kindness!
Matthew inexplicably became angry and spoke in a cold and indifferent tone, "Do you think I care about your gratitude?"
After finishing his sentence, Matthew turned around and walked away.
Trista couldn't understand why this man, who was perfectly fine a moment ago, suddenly was angry!
...
Matthew left the hospital room with a terrifyingly cold face.
Clearly, Matthew was very angry.
However, when Matthew passed by the nurse's station, his footsteps were uncontrollably paused, and he even knocked on the counter.
The nurse who was working lifted their heads and saw Matthew's face. The nurse unconsciously blushed.
Matthew acted as if it seemed he didn't see anything and spoke to the nurse in a cold voice. "Patient 1302 needs an IV. Please hurry over."
The nurse immediately nodded and responded quickly, "I will go over right away!"
After leaving the nurse's station, Matthew returned to Ruby's hospital room.
At this moment, Ruby was already awake and whispering with Moody.
Their two little heads were pressed together, looking cute and cozy.
The icy expression on Matthew's face gradually softened after being infected by Ruby and Moody.
As Matthew sat down in a chair by Ruby's bed and asked his precious daughter, "Are you feeling uncomfortable anywhere?"
Ruby snuggled up to Matthew and coyly rubbed against him like a small kitten before shaking her head obediently.
Matthew couldn't help but feel a little better seeing his daughter's adorable behavior.
"How come you become such a clingy person when you're sick?"
Ruby picked up a small notebook and wrote it down.
[Because I like Daddy.]
Ruby had heard Moody say that their parents hugged each other just now!
Matthew didn't know what was going through Ruby's mind, but the anger that had been ignited in him earlier had dissipated because of Ruby.
Moody had already noticed Matthew's mood since he came in.
Moody saw that Matthew seemed to be cheered up by Ruby and spoke up, "Daddy, you seemed unhappy just now. Did someone upset you?"
"Nothing."
Moody and Ruby's good behavior was in contrast to the cold expression of that woman. "The naughty little wildcat made me angry..." Matthew added.
...
Meanwhile, Trista was receiving an IV drip in the hospital room.
Because Trista could not get home in time, Trista had to call Boris and Eudora.
The call was connected. Boris and Eudora answered the phone with lively voices, "Mommy! What happened? Are you coming home?"
"No, I am still at the hospital with Aunt Nelly helping out. We might be a couple of hours later than usual tonight. You two should take a bath first and then go to bed without waiting for me."
Trista spoke softly.
"Okay."
The two children replied obediently and then reminded Trista, "Mommy, please take care of yourself and don't work too hard.
"Health is the most important thing. Remember to balance work and rest!"
Eudora added from the side.
The thoughtfulness of the two children warmed Trista's heart and made her feel better.
Trista's discomfort seemed to dissipate a bit...
Trista smiled and said, "Okay, Mommy knows. Good night sweethearts. Muah!"
"Muah!"
The two children sent flying kisses across the phone before hanging up.
