Chapter 24 Do You Want to Remarry Her

Myra frowned.
But just for a moment, her face was replaced with a decent and gentle smile, and she withdrew her hand embarrassingly.
"Ruby, I'm just concerned about you."
Marilla tried getting Myra out of the embarrassment and said to Ruby, "Ruby, how about I give you a hug?"
Ruby shook her head without thinking.
Just when Matthew came over, Ruby quickly stretched out her hands to Matthew.
She wanted Daddy to hug her!
Matthew looked down at her and didn't refuse anyway. So he hugged her into his arms, frowned, and said to Marilla and Myra who came uninvited, "I will take care of Ruby. You can go back."
After Marilla heard what Matthew said, she immediately became unhappy. "Why should I go back? How can I rest assured since Ruby is ill? She is my precious granddaughter. I will go back later..."
With that said, Marilla glanced at Myra and thought of something. Marilla's face was a little dark, and she said, "Myra will stay, too."
Myra was secretly happy, and she nodded obediently.
Matthew frowned, but he didn't bother to say anything and went upstairs with Ruby in his arms.
...
Trista went to the company early in the morning.
As soon as Trista entered the office, Anne came in and reported, "Aletta, someone's looking for you. He came early in the morning, and now he is waiting in the reception room."
"Who is it?"
Trista was a little puzzled.
When she returned this time, she did not contact anyone except Nelly.
With a puzzled mind, Trista went to the reception room.
As soon as she entered, she saw a familiar face.
It was Ivan, Fabian's old butler in the Myers family!
"Ivan?"
Trista was a little surprised.
When Ivan saw Trista, he didn't dare to recognize her.
It was a very different Trista!
However, Ivan quickly put on a friendly smile and said respectfully, "Mrs. Myers, long time no see."
"Indeed."
Trista responded politely but then said to Ivan, "Ivan, I am no longer a member of the Myers family. So don't call me Mrs. Myers anymore. If you don't mind, call me Miss Bryant."
Ivan hesitated for a while and said, "I'd like to call you Trista. It sounds more imitate."
Trista had no objection, and she just asked, "Why do you come here to see me?"
"It was Mr. Myers who asked me to come... He heard that you were back and wanted to invite you to the Myers Mansion to have a meal with him."
Ivan conveyed Fabian's instructions to Trista and said, "Mr. Myers has not been in good health these years, but he has always talked about you. He misses you very much and worries that you are not doing well outside."
Trista didn't speak.
In fact, she didn't want to have anything to do with the Myers family anymore.
However, thinking of that wise and kind old man, her heart was somewhat touched.
Back then, during the two years of marriage with Matthew, only Fabian really cared about her, the granddaughter-in-law.
Whenever Marilla picked on Trista, Fabian would always speak for Trista.
That marriage ended so hastily that Trista couldn't even say goodbye to Fabian formally.
Trista had mixed feelings in her heart.
In the end, she agreed. "Okay. Please tell Mr. Myers that I'll go."
Ivan got the reply, and with a smile on his face, he said truthfully, "Okay. Trista, if you can come, Mr. Myers will be very happy.
Then go ahead, I won't bother you."
After speaking, Ivan hurriedly said goodbye and left.
After Ivan left, Trista cleared her mind and went back to the office, busy with her work.
After finishing all the work at hand, Trista caught a glimpse of the document that was pressed at the bottom.
It was the proposal that Matthew gave to her that day!
Trista hesitated for a moment, then fetched the proposal, and read it carefully.
After reading, Trista admitted that she was a little interested in cooperation.
The conditions offered by Matthew were very generous, and it was almost like he was offering unconditional access in disguise.
Trista almost thought Matthew had come with the aim of charity!
After reading the last line, her previous resolve was almost completely shaken.
However, in the end, reason prevailed...
Trista hadn't forgotten the additional conditions that the Myers Group offered.
Thinking of this, Trista closed the proposal with determination and pressed the internal line. "Anne, come in."
Anne pushed the door open and walked in after a while. She walked straight over. "Aletta, what can I do for you?"
"Reject this cooperation for me."
Trista threw the proposal to Anne.
Anne glanced at it, immediately understood, and asked, "Do I need to explain the reason for the rejection to the other party?"
"No. No interest in the cooperation is the reason."
Trista's tone was slightly calm.
Anne felt that Trista seemed unhappy, but Anne didn't ask any further questions, and she immediately nodded and said, "Okay, I'll do it now."
Trista watched Anne leave, and her gaze became a little colder.
Back then, Myra used this reason to frame Trista, making Trista bear the infamy for no reason and suffer countless grievances and pains!
And now Matthew wanted to use this as a bargaining chip, and he was truly dreaming.
Even if the conditions were generous, no one could force her to cooperate if she didn't want to.
...
In the Vanny Villa
Just as Matthew put Ruby to sleep and went to the study, Colby came in to report, "Mr. Myers, someone from the Zelin Company just called and returned our proposal, and she also indicated that it's what Aletta means."
When Matthew heard this, his face turned cold.
He had always been impatient, and his style of acting was vigorous and decisive.
Now, for Aletta, Matthew was lowering himself, asking her to cooperate with him several times, and making the biggest concessions in his contract. He had given her enough respect!
Unexpectedly, she refused to accept it again and again!
"For what reason?"
Matthew rubbed his brows, feeling a little irritable.
Colby hesitated and said, "She didn't say any reason."
Matthew frowned, and just as he was about to speak, the door of the study was suddenly pushed open from the outside.
Marilla came in from the outside slowly and said to Matthew, "Matthew, I have something to talk to you."
Matthew coldly said, "What's the matter?"
Marilla didn't mince words and asked directly, "I heard that Trista is back. Is this true?"
Matthew frowned even worse and looked at his mother coldly. "Is this the main reason why you came today?"
Visiting Ruby was just a passing excuse, and Marilla deliberately stayed just for this moment.
Marilla didn't deny it. "So what? Can't I ask? How can Trista have the face to come back? And you..."
Marilla looked at Matthew and asked, "That night, someone saw you taking Trista away. What do you mean? You are divorced, so what are you doing with her? Don't tell me that you want to remarry that vicious woman!"
Matthew's face became colder when he heard the repeated questioning.
He didn't answer, but he didn't deny it either.
Marilla thought that what she said was right, and her anger immediately came up. She said in a strict voice, "You don't even think about it! Back then, that vicious woman hurt Myra and even abandoned her two children cruelly. She's cold-blooded and vicious!
"Such a woman, she isn't worthy to be with you, and she isn't worthy to become one of the Myers family!"
