Chapter 5 Don't Like You

At that moment, Trista took her two children and headed to the parking lot to meet her best friend, Nelly.
Nelly took time off from the hospital to come and pick them up.
It had been a while since they last saw each other, and Trista noticed that Nelly had lost quite a bit of weight, so she couldn't help but give her a hug.
Once they got in the car, Trista expressed her concern and asked, "How is your mother doing now?"
"She's still not doing too well."
Nelly replied, sounding a bit tired.
Trista nodded and reassured her, saying, "Don't worry. I'm back now. I'll find some time to visit her and figure out a way to help her get better."
"Alright."
Nelly said, knowing that Trista was skilled in medicine and willing to have her help with her mother.
As it was mealtime, Nelly had already made a reservation at a restaurant called Quim Restaurant to welcome them and have a good meal.
Once they entered the private room, Nelly finally had the presence of mind to play with the two children. She opened her arms and said, "Come here, my darlings. Let me give you a hug!"
The two kids were startled.
They quickly hid behind Trista, tightly clutching onto her sleeves, showing a clear resistance.
Nelly was taken aback and then sadly said, "Sweethearts, didn't you say you missed me? Why won't you let me touch you?
"I'm hurt, and I'll never get better..."
Trista was surprised as well when she saw this.
Her own children were not shy and would gladly let anyone hold them, acting as if they wanted everyone in the world to adore them.
In their regular video chats, they were also very familiar with Nelly, so why did they suddenly become shy upon meeting her?
"What's wrong?"
Trista immediately squatted down and softly asked.
Meeting her gentle gaze, Moody Myers felt a sense of reassurance spreading from his chest.
His mind raced, and he quickly said, "It's nothing. Just a sudden feeling... Sorry."
He turned to look at Nelly and tried to sound natural, saying, "Nelly, can we order our food first? We're hungry."
Nelly saw those children call her and immediately brightened up. "Alright, let's order now. We don't want our two little babies to starve."
After placing their orders, Nelly shifted her focus back to the two children.
Eudora hadn't said a word since they left the airport.
"Eudora, why aren't you saying anything?"
Eudora wasn't as lively as when she was on video calls!
Trista followed up with a question. "Just a moment ago, you were chattering away. Why aren't you speaking now? Could it be that you're so engrossed in the role that you can't snap out of it?"
Ruby blinked her eyes, meeting Trista's gaze, but remained silent.
Moody still hadn't figured out who were the children in that photo just now, but he worried that Ruby might reveal something, so he explained to Trista. "It's not like that. She said her throat was a bit uncomfortable. That's why she's not speaking."
Trista immediately grew tense. "What's wrong?"
Did she possibly eat something that didn't agree with her?
Or was it an inflammation?
She was very concerned and quickly reassured her, saying, "Come on. Open your mouth. Let me take a look."
Moody glanced sideways at Ruby, giving her a subtle nod.
Ruby caught the hint and hesitated for a moment before finally deciding to open her mouth.
After checking, Trista didn't find anything wrong and said in confusion, "It looks fine..."
Anne, who was nearby, nodded and was also puzzled. "She was perfectly fine at the airport earlier, wasn't she?"
Finally, Moody came up with an explanation and said, "Maybe she's just a little dehydrated from not drinking enough water and feeling a bit uncomfortable in a new environment. Let her rest for a while. She might be fine later."
"Is that so..."
Trista believed him and immediately poured a glass of water for her little daughter.
...
Matthew, with his two children, left the airport and also came to Quim Restaurant for a meal.
This restaurant was actually owned by the Myers Group.
Since Matthew was there, he naturally got the best private room.
Not long after he placed his order, the dishes arrived one by one.
Each dish was delicious and beautifully presented, like a feast fit for a king!
Eudora, who was pretending to be silent, was actually a foodie. Her eyes sparkled at the sight of the dishes on the table.
Especially the large crab legs in front of her. She couldn't control herself and reached out with her little hand.
But just as she was about to touch them, the crab legs were suddenly taken away.
Matthew remorsefully pushed the plate away and said, with a hint of annoyance. "I forgot. You're allergic to seafood."
Eudora had a puzzled look on her face.
She could eat it!
She could even eat a whole plate of it!
Eudora watched helplessly as the delicious food was taken off the table and immediately looked at Boris with a clear expression of what she wanted to eat in her eyes.
Boris placed his hand under the table, gently patting Eudora's small hand, and used his eyes to signal her to be patient.
Unhappy, Eudora pouted but turned her frustration into determination and started eating with a big spoon.
This scene once again surprised Matthew and Colby.
As children of the Myers family, they were taught to follow certain rules, especially when it came to table manners.
So, seeing them so enthusiastic about their meal, strictly speaking, was not in accordance with the rules.
However, Matthew didn't stop them.
Every time Ruby ate, they had to persuade her for a long time before she started eating. When did she become so proactive?
Just let her be...
It was best when she wanted to eat.
While they were halfway through their meal, Matthew's phone suddenly rang, displaying the name Myra on the screen.
He furrowed his brows and answered the call in a calm tone, saying, "What's wrong?"
On the other end of the phone, Myra's gentle voice deliberately sounded a bit anxious as she said, "Matthew, have you found the children? Should I go and help look for them too? It's been a while, and if something unexpected happens, what will we do?"
Matthew coldly replied, "No need. We've already found them."
"Really? That's good. That's good... I was so worried."
Myra sounded relieved.
Then, Myra tentatively said, "Are you at home now? Can I come and see you... I can't rest easy without seeing the children safe."
"No need. I'm having dinner with them outside. We haven't gone back yet."
Matthew's tone became even colder.
During their conversation, Boris and Eudora could faintly hear parts of it.
The two children, being so clever, immediately recognized Myra's voice!
Instantly, their little faces turned sour.
It was just as they suspected!
He was chatting with another woman while in front of his children!
Boris had a stern expression and put down his spoon with a slight sound, seemingly expressing his dissatisfaction.
Eudora noticed Boris was angry and followed suit, putting down her spoon.
The delicious food on the table suddenly lost its appeal!
Matthew looked over at the sound and noticed that the two children were acting strange.
He furrowed his brows, and in a cold tone toward Myra, he said, "Ruby and Moody don't want you near the house. Unless I give permission, don't go to Vanny Villa anymore!"
With that, he hung up the phone and put it away.
