Chapter 17 Dad Is a Bad Guy
After Trista left, she quickly flagged down a car on the side of the road and headed home. She also sent a message to Anne, telling her not to come to pick her up.
The whole way home, she couldn't calm down her emotions and her heart was still racing when she arrived at the villa
The faint taste of blood in her mouth reminded her of the fierce events that had just occurred.
That bastard Matthew was still holding a grudge against her for leaving that one-dollar coin many years ago.
That was why he took revenge on her tonight!
"Stingy man!"
Trista cursed angrily.
Trista swore that she would avoid him in the future!
Even if she saw him on the street, she would definitely go out of her way to avoid him!
Inhale... Exhale...
Inhale... Exhale...
After calming down, Trista found the key and opened the door.
As soon as Trista opened the door, two little ones rushed towards her and hung onto her thighs.
The two kids immediately softened Trista's heart.
"Mom, welcome back!"
The two kids shouted.
They had already taken a bath and smelled good, making Trista want to cuddle them.
Moira walked over from behind the children and greeted Trista with a smile. "Trista, you're back."
"Yes."
Trista responded while hugging the two little ones. "Hey sweethearts, have you been good at home today? Have you listened to Moira?"
Looking at the two adorable little ones, Trista's mood instantly brightened.
The unexpected kiss caught both children off guard, causing their little faces to turn pink. Their big eyes blinked as they stared at their mom.
They were kissed by their mom again!
''Mummy is so kind!
She's much nicer than Dad, who always works away and only comes home late,' The two kids thought.
Moody nodded obediently and said, "We were well-behaved. Mom, you look so beautiful in that dress."
Moody added. "You're the most beautiful mom in the whole world."
Ruby also nodded in agreement.
Mom was really pretty. She was the prettiest person she had ever seen.
The little girl immediately took out her notebook, wrote something down, and showed it to her mom.
[Mom, are you tired?]
Trista was so pleased with the compliments that she forgot about feeling tired from the banquet. She laughed and replied, "Mom is not tired at all."
Then she lifted the two little ones and walked towards the living room, asking softly, "So, what did you both do at home today? Tell Mom all about it."
Trista sat down on the sofa with the two children, while Moira prepared dinner.
At this time, Moody and Ruby exchanged a glance.
Little did Trista know that since she left, the two little ones had been checking the clock from time to time. They kept their ears open for any noise and glanced downstairs occasionally.
Especially in the evening, when they felt that it was time for her to finish her work, they rested their heads on the windowsill and waited for her to come home.
Now, Mom was willing to spend time with them, instead of going home to work like Dad.
Their faces beaming with delight, both of them moved closer to Trista with eagerness and proceeded to share every detail with her.
...
On the other hand, Matthew had returned to Vanny Villa, and he was still in a bad mood.
As he entered the hall, Boris and Eudora were playing with Lego blocks.
The tens of thousands of Lego blocks were scattered all over the floor.
Most adults would be worried about this amount of mess, but the two little ones were enjoying themselves.
They were very clever and built the blocks very quickly. In no time, part of the structure was built.
Boris noticed someone coming in and turned to look at the door.
Seeing that it was Matthew, he half-heartedly greeted him, "Dad."
Eudora didn't need to speak, so she just focused on building the small castle.
Matthew nodded in agreement and cast a brief glance toward the pile of Lego bricks, but he didn't say anything further. He took a seat on the couch and let his hand rest on the armrest.
Colby stood beside him and instructed Carey, "Carey, please bring the first-aid kit over here."
Carey nodded and quickly brought the first-aid kit over.
Upon seeing Matthew's bleeding hand, Carey couldn't help but exclaim.
"Mr. Myers, what happened? How did you get hurt?"
The two little ones who were playing with Lego naturally heard it and looked at each other.
Should they go to see him, or not?
Boris and Eudora exchanged glances and after two seconds, they decided to go over and have a look.
Soon, they noticed the blood stains on Matthew's hand.
"What happened to you?"
Boris asked as he looked at the wound and found that it wasn't serious at all.
It was far less serious compared to the patients their mom usually treated!
Matthew leaned lazily on the sofa and casually replied, "I was bitten by a dog."
Boris was speechless and exchanged a glance with his sister.
"Does Dad think we're idiots?" they thought.
Boris rolled his eyes and pointed at the back of Matthew's hand. "These are human bite marks, not dog bites! But it's true that Dad always looks so stern that even dogs find him unbearable!"
Matthew glanced at his son, feeling both amused and annoyed. He lifted his uninjured hand and pinched his son's face. "Watch your mouth, little boy."
Colby tried to hold back his laughter.
In this world, only the Young Master could talk like this to Mr. Myers.
He held a cotton swab in his hand and prepared to apply medicine to Matthew.
As a grown man, Colby didn't have a light touch, so he applied the medicine to the wound with some strength.
Matthew felt a slight sting when the medicine touched the wound, and he frowned.
As a young doctor, Eudora couldn't bear to watch Colby's careless treatment, so she pushed him gently.
Colby stopped and asked, puzzled, "What's the matter, Young Miss?"
Eudora grumbled in her mind.
This man was so clueless. How could he apply medicine to people like this?
Eudora really couldn't stand it anymore!
Eudora seemed to be very calm on the surface. She didn't say a word as she took the medicine and cotton swabs and carefully applied medicine to Matthew.
The others were surprised to see this scene, wondering when Ruby learned how to bandage wounds and became so proficient at it.
"Ruby, where did you learn to do that?"
Matthew's eyes softened, and he asked gently.
Eudora became nervous and didn't know what to do.
Eudora became nervous and didn't know what to do.
Boris quickly responded, "Is it difficult? You can learn by just looking at it."
"I could do it too," Boris added nonchalantly.
Matthew heard this and his doubts vanished.
All the frustration he had previously felt towards that woman vanished in an instant.
He gently patted his daughter's head, and praised her. "Ruby is so talented. It looks like I underestimated you."
At that moment, Eudora felt the warmth of her father's hand on her head, radiating the kind of tenderness only a parent can give.
Eudora looked at her dad and suddenly felt a sense of security.
Eudora thought, "Maybe this scumbag dad isn't that bad!"
However, Eudora immediately warned herself not to switch sides. She must stand with her mom!
After a while, when the medicine was applied, Boris told Matthew in a calm voice, "Don't get it wet!"
Matthew nodded, saying, "It's getting late. You shall tidy up and get ready for bed."
Matthew hugged them both naturally and planted a gentle kiss on their foreheads before bidding them goodnight.
