Chapter 20 Who Will Like You?
Matthew sneered as if he had heard a joke.
"How can I bully her?"
Matthew immediately thought of last night in the car when Trista was as vicious as a wolf and left an injury on his hand.
And the bite mark was still there!
No one could bully Trista.
She couldn't be bullied at all.
"Are you still denying it?"
Fabian looked at his rascal grandson with disbelief. "Back then, you saw that she had no one to rely on and was easy to bully. With a divorce paper, you forced her to leave. Who knows if you've changed now?"
When Matthew and Trista divorced years ago, the whole family kept it from Fabian.
Every time Fabian thought of this, he always got angry.
Matthew had nothing to say under Fabian's scolding.
"You are in the wrong in this matter."
Seeing that Matthew didn't retort, Fabian snorted and continued. "She's back now. I don't think she wants to talk to you."
As soon as Fabian finished speaking, Matthew's face darkened.
Fabian smiled and knew that he had guessed right. He said to Matthew slowly, "You deserve it. You blamed me for arranging your marriage back then and despised her! You really don't know what's good for you! Now you're here to tell me she is back. What you're going to do?"
Matthew said in a cold voice, "You keep nagging Trista in my ear. It's too annoying. I come here to tell you she is back, and I just want you don't use her to bother me in the future."
Fabian was so angry that he glared at Matthew. "Look at you! Trista was completely lost her mind to like you back then!"
Fabian didn't want to pay attention to his unpleasant grandson and called for Ivan.
"Ivan, find out where Trista is."
Colby had been standing beside them unnoticed the whole time.
At this moment, Colby saw through it.
Colby finally understood that Matthew planned to use Fabian against Trista.
"Mr. Fabian Myers, I know where Miss Bryant is."
Colby immediately said and glanced at Matthew's expression as he spoke.
Seeing that Matthew did not stop him, Colby immediately knew that he was right!
Colby told Fabian the address of Trista.
"That's great!"
Fabian immediately smiled with satisfaction and said to Colby, "You're so reliable!"
Then, he quickly ordered Ivan, "Find Trista now. On the day I'm discharged from the hospital, ask Trista to come to the Myers Mansion for dinner."
"Yes, sir."
Ivan replied with a smile.
As things were developing according to his plan, Matthew's mood had lightened slightly.
Sitting next to Fabian, Matthew fiddled with the chessboard leisurely with his well-defined hands.
Seeing Matthew fiddling with the chessboard, Fabian frowned again and said contemptuously, "Why aren't you leaving yet?"
Fabian was annoyed by Matthew.
"Why don't you bring my two precious great-grandchildren with you? They are much more interesting than you."
Fabian muttered unhappily.
Matthew ignored Fabian's words. He set up the chessboard and asked, "Are you still not going to play? I'm not busy today. How about playing a few more rounds with you?"
"Let's play!"
Fabian replied without hesitation, as if he was afraid that Matthew would go back on his word, and quickly brought the chess piece over.
They couldn't stop playing once they started.
At noon, Matthew even stayed to have lunch with Fabian.
Then, Matthew played a few more rounds of chess with Fabian, which made Fabian very happy.
After Trista left the company at noon, she went home to have lunch with her children.
As long as Trista was not busy with work, she would spend as much time with her children as possible.
After lunch, Trista took the two children to go to the hospital.
After arriving, Trista went to help the child register first and do a throat examination.
There were not many people in line, so it was their turn soon.
After the check-up, Trista looked at the results first.
The results showed that Eudora had no problems with her throat.
The doctor also said the same thing, "The child's vocal cords are normal. The sudden loss of voice may be due to environmental factors.
"There are examples of this kind of situation in our country. Let's wait for a while and see. If the child feels uncomfortable, bring her back again."
Trista could only nod in agreement after hearing the doctor's words.
After carrying the little one down, Trista led them out of the examination room.
"Mummy, are we going to see Nelly's mother now?"
Moody held Trista's hand and asked in a sweet voice.
Trista answered gently, "Yes. Later, you need to be quiet so as not to disturb her rest, okay?"
Moody immediately nodded when he heard this. "Okay, I know."
Nelly's mother lived in the VIP ward upstairs.
When Trista and the children were inside, she saw Nelly's mother lying on the bed. Her face was haggard, and she looked unwell.
"Trista, you're here."
Nelly turned around upon hearing the voice, her once radiant face now showing signs of fatigue.
Trista nodded and walked over with the children. "How is your mother doing?"
"Not good."
Nelly looked somewhat dejected. "The doctor said my mother needs to undergo craniotomy surgery, but all the experts say that this surgery is very dangerous, and the success rate is only ten percent..."
As Nelly spoke, tears began to well up in her eyes. She held Trista's hand.
"Trista, if it were you, the chances of success would certainly be higher, right?"
Nelly's fragile gaze stared intently at Trista, her expression full of hope. "You are the most gifted doctor in recent years. Trista, can you help?"
Trista looked at her helpless and frightened friend, patting her back to comfort her, "Nelly, don't worry. I will definitely try my best to improve the success rate."
Trista was confident in her medical skills.
Nelly's eyes were filled with tears. "Thank you, Trista..."
Trista patted her again and said soothingly, "But before that, I need to understand her overall condition."
"No problem."
Nelly nodded and said, "My mother's attending physician is my classmate. I will have him talk to you..."
While they were talking, they didn't notice that Ruby, who was beside them, looked uneasy and anxious as she tugged on her brother's arm and wrote the word "lost" on a piece of paper.
Moody understood immediately and took Ruby out with him.
"What did you lose?"
Ruby pointed anxiously at her wrist.
It was a beautiful little bracelet.
Last night, Eudora had let Ruby take it from her small jewelry box. It was a gift Eudora had given her.
"Don't worry. I will help you find it now."
Moody comforted his sister.
On the other side, because Fabian needed rest, Matthew also decided to go back.
Colby followed behind.
The two of them took the elevator downstairs.
When they passed by the payment area, Colby caught sight of something in his peripheral vision and suddenly stopped in his tracks.
Colby stared straight at the two figures not far away and asked doubtfully, "Mr. Myers, are they Young Master and Young Miss?"
