Chapter 12

"Shhh, shut up and stay calm," Miranda told me, putting her finger to her lips.

"Hm? What's going on?" I asked curiously.

"I don't need to explain and you can just watch. We can't make too much noise," Miranda replied.

Hearing that I just nodded and followed Miranda's words. From my estimation, there might be officers passing by there. That's why Miranda asked me to be quiet and not ask her many questions right now. I felt reluctant because I had become dependent on Miranda and couldn't be independent in thinking about the situation.

Miranda and I hid there as we waited for the passing of the guards along the passage. I actually wanted to move now and grow those people, but it seemed like it would be better if I moved when I saw the movement of Miranda as well.

There are two situations in my head right now. The first situation was that I moved first and it turned out that I did something that messed up Miranda's prediction. That made us get out of sync and we ended up messing up the mission this time.

And the second situation was that I was moving slower than Miranda expected. And the end of the second situation was the same as the first. Silly thoughts like this made me a slow thinker and too afraid to make decisions.

What should I do to stop being too afraid to make decisions? I'm a cautious person but people who are always cautious sometimes make it too late because they're too afraid of making mistakes.

'I said that just now for no reason. But what each member of this group is supposed to do is to cause chaos, so don't worry about them causing chaos, because that's my goal.'

I don't know why Jhonny's words suddenly crossed my mind and rang in my head. It was as if his words a few days ago became a bright spot and gave me a breath of fresh air to break free from this confinement of thought that was holding me back.

It sounds strange, but I who felt this then began to dismiss judgments about the reality of such moments, but instead thought more about the lessons I could learn from there.

I calmly observed how Miranda's body positioned as she observed her surroundings, and while I was observing that I also changed the lenses on my glasses to see the size of the wind gusts as well as vibrations that could not be detected through mere human sensitivity.

From the advice Miranda gave me, I began to understand that this object does have features that are very useful. It turns out that the reason Miranda stayed in this place and started hiding first was because she sensed the arrival of people and got it all from using the features of these glasses.

But the strange thing is that the presence of these people is not detected at all by human sensitivity. I wonder if it's really a human figure or if the figures awake in this place are just robots that are deliberately designed to move more easily without causing much noise and vibration.

The number detected is also quite a lot not just two but more than 5, possibly reaching the number of 8 to 10 figures that are there and passing by. In a few moments' time, they will reach the place where we are hiding and I expect at that time Miranda will probably attack them as well and I should be prepared for that.

"On the count of three we will attack them immediately," Miranda said. "You see through your lens? There are twelve people coming this way. I'll handle eight, you handle the remaining four. And bring out all the skills you have."

After the count of three, Miranda stood up immediately. I also stood up quickly and jumped towards the horde of people close to us.

"Alice! Wait!"

I don't know what was going through Miranda's mind right now but she was suddenly unsure of what she was telling me. But since you have already moved to jump towards the enemy, there is no stopping for now. With my cultured gantengan that I had prepared I immediately took out the weapon that was in my pocket and wounded their bodies with the red glowing tense that I was carrying.

It was true that they were all human but they were layered on a protective suit made of steel but high strength with technology that coated the suit. Sometimes what I'm using now turns out to be able to inhibit the cycle of electrical energy flow and also break down the mechanism of electrons and protons in molecules that exist in substances. It causes the flow of electrons to experience great resistance and causes serious damage to any items that have technology in them.

Not only that, I was also very impressed with this weapon because the effect of the mechanism on this sword made the molecules of the objects that were hit by the sword's slash slowly disintegrate like melting in a short period of time.

This is quite terrifying because the mechanism of this sword is like the moment when liquid mercury is poured onto metal objects which makes the metal objects melt. Couldn't this just make the whole thing disintegrate? After this battle is over later I will ask Miranda about this, I don't want to speculate too much before I find out what's behind it.

Miranda who saw that the attack had already been carried out made her also move against the enemy... she also very nimbly used her weapon and made the enemy fall. But maybe because the first attack was so sudden that they didn't have time to show their reflexes towards us, and after that they started to realize and move faster than before.

While our attack was fairly successful at this point, we had to remain vigilant in case the enemy moved their guard even tighter. After we took out the enemy guarding this section, we quickly moved towards the next hallway so that we could quickly gather with the other members to complete this mission.

"Miranda, this weapon you created is amazing," I said excitedly.

The two of us were running fast, our shoes that had been developed through this cutting-edge technology made us not too tired to run even though we had finished a grueling battle.

"You don't need to praise me too much, I don't want to get big-headed, and anyway I'm just one of the many people who are part of the technology division. So the creation of the technologies in our base is also the result of the thoughts of the other colleagues there," Miranda said.

I am increasingly impressed with this woman, she looks very strong and independent yet she is not arrogant about her intelligence and abilities.

After we arrived in front of a steel-plated door that seemed very strong, we stopped for a moment and Miranda began to pull out a device that seemed to hack into the information system on the door in order to open it.

It didn't take long for the information system to be successfully released by Miranda and the door was instantly unlocked and slowly opened.

"It looks like we won't have long to complete this mission," Miranda said as she glanced at me.

Miranda's expression was one of excitement and pride, but when she looked toward the front of the room, her face looked like she was in shock.

"Miranda? What's wrong?" I asked.

The curious me then glanced in front of us, and how surprised I was when I saw the same thing that Miranda saw. We both stood there with our mouths hanging open.
