Chapter 46
A few days after all the preparations were completed, the moment arrived. On a special launch pad prepared by the technology development agency, a majestic spaceship stood proud, ready to take Jhonny's team on an unexpected space adventure. Alice, Jhonny, Fredy, Denada and Rian had entered the craft, dressed in space suits specially designed for this mission. Their hearts beat faster than usual, reflecting the inevitable tension.
This was no ordinary space craft. Crafted from the most advanced materials and developed by a team of the best scientists under Miranda's supervision, it was specially designed to be able to travel between galaxies. Friction with the Earth's atmosphere, which is usually a major problem in space flight, has been minimized with cutting-edge friction-reducing technology. This allows the craft to travel faster and more efficiently than previous spacecraft.
"Are you ready?" asked Jhonny in a voice full of confidence, despite his inner anxiety. This was the first time they had all traveled so far into space, beyond the limits of what humans had ever explored.
"Ready!" they replied in unison, though in their hearts there was still uncertainty.
Fredy, who served as the pilot, sat at the helm with a confident demeanor. His eyes were focused on the screen and control panel in front of him. "We'll be off in a matter of seconds. Hold on tight!" he said as he pulled the main lever to initiate the launch.
The airplane began to vibrate as the massive engines on its underside ignited. The roar of the engines echoed throughout the room, making their bodies feel pressed into the seats. Alice felt a slight flutter in her stomach, an inexplicable feeling of nervousness and excitement. She gripped the arms of the seat tightly, staring ahead with expectant eyes.
Suddenly, the plane took off at an incredible speed. All the passengers felt the intense gravitational pressure as they left the Earth's atmosphere, but what was amazing was how the plane crossed the layers of the atmosphere without a hitch. The friction that normally slows down spacecraft was barely felt. The craft glided so smoothly, it was as if space was its home.
"Wow, amazing," Denada murmured, who was sitting next to Alice, as she watched the monitor displaying the speed and status of the plane.
Alice couldn't contain her amazement either. "I still can't believe we can go this fast without any technical problems," she said, her voice shaking slightly with enthusiasm.
Fredy smiled broadly. "You should thank the team that built this plane. They really did an amazing job. It's smoother than I imagined."
Jhonny, who was sitting behind Fredy, nodded in agreement. However, he remained wary. "Don't get too confident just yet. We still have a long way to go. Focus on our destination."
At an astonishing speed, the ship shot out of our solar system. The screen in front of them displayed a view of stars twinkling in the dark sea of space. They watched as planets they had only imagined floated before their eyes. There was a bright red planet with a ring of dust around it, a gas giant with dozens of tiny moons orbiting it, and even some planets never seen from Earth.
"So far, so good," said Rian, sitting behind Fredy. "But we still need to keep our focus. This trip could change at any moment."
Fredy pressed a few buttons on the control panel, accelerating the ship. "Don't worry. This airplane is designed to go much faster in space. We'll get there faster than you think."
Alice stared out the window of the airplane, watching the stars that seemed to be getting closer and closer. The beautiful and endless view of space made her realize how small humans were in this vast universe. She then turned to Jhonny and smiled, feeling more relieved after knowing that the ship was able to make the long journey well.
After a few hours, they passed hundreds of planets, each with a different shape and size. Fredy continued to steer the ship with great concentration, while Jhonny and the others took a short break. Time flew by, but the speed of the ship made the journey seem so short.
Then, after passing thousands of other planets, an object came into view in the distance. A planet with a combination of blue, green and red colors on its surface appeared on the monitor screen. Denada was the first to notice it.
"Is that...?" she said, pointing at the screen. "Is that the planet we're looking for?"
Fredy immediately checked the coordinates given by Miranda. "The coordinates match the ones Miranda gave. It must be the planet Gronion."
Alice and Jhonny looked at the planet in amazement. Its colorful surface looked so striking in the darkness of space. The blue representing the great oceans, the green most likely vegetation, and the red probably land or vast rocky areas.
"We're here," whispered Jhonny, feeling a little relieved.
"Yes, finally," Alice replied as she looked at the planet expectantly. "This is it, Gronion."
Fredy immediately adjusted the ship's course and accelerated towards the planet. They all felt a growing sense of tension, but there was also a thrilling sense of excitement. They knew that on this planet might lie humanity's last hope, Frigia Sanguinis, the ingredient they were looking for to save the world from genetic mutation.
The usually calm Rian could not hide his curiosity and nervousness. "So, what do we expect to find there?"
Alice looked at Rian and replied, "What we're hoping for is answers. Answers that can save us all."
Jhonny glanced at Fredy who was still focused on the steering wheel. "Make sure the landing is smooth. We don't know the atmospheric conditions of this planet, and we don't want anything unexpected to happen."
Fredy nodded. "I've studied the landing system of this plane. We'll land safely. Trust me."
Denada, who was usually quieter, looked alert and ready. "We must be prepared for anything. This planet may look beautiful, but we don't know what's waiting for us down there."
The craft drew closer to Gronion, and the colors on the planet's surface became more vivid. As they entered the planet's orbit, Fredy began to slow down and prepare for landing. The planet's atmosphere felt a little different, but fortunately, the airship had been designed to adapt to various atmospheric conditions.
"Everyone, prepare yourselves," Fredy said. "We'll be landing in a few minutes."
Alice felt her heart beat faster. Although she was prepared for anything, there was a feeling of nervousness that she couldn't shake off. She looked at Jhonny, who seemed calm and focused, but she knew that Jhonny was feeling the same tension.
The ship slowly began to penetrate Gronion's atmosphere. They could feel a slight shock, but nothing too significant. The advanced technology installed on the craft managed to withstand the friction and pressure of the planet's atmosphere.
Finally, after what seemed like an eternity, the craft made a smooth landing on the surface of Gronion. All the team members felt a sense of relief, although they knew that the real challenge was just beginning.
"We're here," Fredy said with a satisfied smile.
Alice took a deep breath. "Now, let's see what's on this planet."
Jhonny stood up from his seat and turned his gaze to the airplane window, staring at the surface of the planet that looked so calm yet serious. "Stay alert, because we don't know what's on this planet."
Everyone listened to Jhonny and nodded obediently, they didn't know what or who was on the planet. Even though the source of the Frigia Sanguinis material they were looking for was there, it didn't mean the planet didn't hold dangers there.
