Chapter 45
After trying to contact the three of them, Miranda got information about the response from the three of them. She immediately told Alice and Jhonny about it. Alice, Jhonny, and Miranda were already gathered in the control room, waiting for news from Denada, Rian, and Fredy-three people they hoped could be part of the search mission for Frigia Sanguinis. They were the key to the success of this mission, and without them, the risk of failure would increase dramatically.
The agency's internal communications voice rang out, breaking the silence.
"Miranda, there's a call from the building lobby," said the voice from the speaker. "In the guest lounge there are already three people waiting to meet you."
Miranda immediately looked at Alice and Jhonny. "They're here," she said shortly.
Without wasting any time, the three of them immediately rushed to the guest lounge. Along the way, Alice felt her heartbeat speeding up. Not only because she was nervous about their answers, but also because she knew how important this mission was. This mission was not only about finding Frigia Sanguinis, but also about saving the future of humanity which was now being threatened by genetic mutations after the alien invasion.
After a few minutes, they arrived at the door of the waiting room. Jhonny paused, took a deep breath, and glanced at Alice who looked equally anxious. Miranda nodded, signaling that they should be ready to accept whatever the answer was.
They walked into the room, and there sat three very familiar figures. Denada, Rian, and Fredy seemed to be sitting with a straight posture, but from the looks on their faces, it was clear that they were considering something serious. Jhonny felt the air in the room was a little chilly, adding to the tension in his heart.
"It's good to see you here," Jhonny began, trying to break the tense atmosphere with a faint smile. "You know why we called you here."
Denada, with her calm and often unpredictable face, nodded slowly. "We've heard a bit about this mission," she said. "But we want to know more before we make a decision."
Miranda, who was sitting next to Johnny and Alice, took over the conversation. "We need the three of you to join the mission to find Frigia Sanguinis, an ingredient that can neutralize the genetic mutation that is happening to humanity. Without this ingredient, many people will face serious threats from the mutation's side effects. This mission is very important."
Alice looked at the three of them with mounting expectation, but she could feel the hesitation on their faces. Rian, with his burly body and posture that always looked stern, was staring straight ahead, as if he was considering something very heavy. Fredy, who was usually cheerful and full of enthusiasm, also looked a little tense. Only Denada remained calm.
"Do you want to join us?" asked Jhonny in an expectant tone.
Denada, Rian, and Fredy glanced at each other, and for a few seconds, the room was filled with uncertainty. Jhonny could feel the anxiety that was starting to creep into his mind. They couldn't continue this mission without those three, and if they refused, all the plans they had put together would collapse.
Fredy finally opened his voice, but his words made the atmosphere even heavier.
"We don't want to," he said quietly but clearly.
Instantly, Alice's heart felt like it was falling into an abyss. Jhonny felt a deep sense of disappointment, and on Miranda's face, there was a clear sense of anxiety that could not be hidden. Alice looked at Fredy with eyes full of disappointment. Was this mission going to fail before it even started?
But before Jhonny could say anything, Fredy continued with a smile on his face. "We don't want to miss this precious opportunity to team up with world savers like you."
Relieved laughter was immediately heard from Alice, Jhonny, and Miranda. Their previously gloomy expressions now turned bright instantly. Alice could barely contain her smile as she looked at Fredy who was now smiling broadly, while Denada and Rian also seemed to be starting to relax.
"Oh my, Fredy!" said Alice with a light laugh. "You almost made me faint earlier."
Fredy shrugged, still with a mischievous smile on his face. "What the hell, I just wanted to make sure you guys really wanted us."
Jhonny shook his head, still smiling with relief. "You always like to create drama, Fredy."
Rian, who had been looking serious, finally spoke. "We all agree. It's not just about the mission, but also about our trust in you two. We know that if you chose us, it's because you believe we can help save humanity."
Denada nodded. "I feel the same way. We are ready to join this mission."
Alice felt the huge weight that had been pressing on her shoulders finally lifted. She looked at Jhonny with gratitude. They now had a strong and solid team. A team that could be relied upon for this uncertain mission.
After all had agreed, Miranda stood up and gestured for them all to follow her. "Then, let's go to the space observation room. There's something you all need to see."
They walked down the hallways of the technology development institute, until they came to a large door that automatically opened. Inside, there was a spacious room with transparent walls that displayed a view of outer space. Glittering starlight dotted the space, creating an atmosphere indescribable in words.
In the center of the room, there was a large table surrounded by various advanced technological equipment. Miranda walked towards the table and activated a large hologram floating in the air, displaying a map of the galaxy and the location of the planet Gronion, where Frigia Sanguinis was found.
"This is the information you need to know about this mission," Miranda said as she pointed to the hologram. "This is a map to the location of the search for the Frigia Sanguinis materials. From here, we can see the best route we should take and the challenges we might face along the way."
Alice, Jhonny, Denada, Rian, and Fredy stood around the hologram, looking at it intently. The mood in the room turned serious again, but this time, there was a greater sense of confidence among them.
Despite the many challenges they would face in the future, they tried to mentally strengthen each other. Traveling into space was their first time. Although meeting extraterrestrials wasn't their first time this time around, exploring space was something they had never done before.
Jhonny felt the pressure within him, he once again bore an enormous responsibility. Aside from realizing hope and helping mankind, he also had to keep his four teammates safe even though he knew this team was not made up of weaklings.
"It's going to be a long journey," Jhonny said in a firm tone. "But we'll do it together."
"Yes," Rian replied. "That's right, together we will complete this mission for the sake of humanity."
