Chapter 35
However, before they could move any further, Michael's laughter echoed through the darkness. "Do you really think you can stop all this?"
Michael emerged from the shadows, a sly smile on his face. He knew that this was the final fight. But Jhonny and Alice were also prepared for any risk.
The blue light from the alien gate in the basement emitted a chilling cold aura, reflecting flashes of light on the slippery, rusted metal walls. Jhonny and Alice stood only a few steps away from the device, but the dark shadow of Michael that appeared from behind made them freeze.
"How reckless," Michael muttered sarcastically. "You two think you can destroy everything I've built over the years?"
His voice echoed along the hallway. Alice gave Michael a hateful look. "This isn't about destroying your dreams, Michael. It's about saving the world from the tyrannical rule you created. You used alien technology to manipulate humanity!"
Michael laughed loudly, his smile sly and full of arrogance. "You don't understand, Alice. This world is broken. Alien technology is the only way to create a new order, and I will be at the pinnacle of power. You are merely pawns standing in the way of this great destiny."
Jhonny felt the tension rising in the air. Quickly, he glanced at Alice and whispered, "We need to get moving."
Without further ado, Michael raised the sophisticated weapon in his hand and fired directly at the two of them. A huge explosion boomed in the room, sending dust and debris flying. Jhonny pulled Alice behind a retaining wall just before the shot reached them. The sound of the explosion echoed, and the light from the blast was almost blinding.
"We have to get there!" shouted Alice, her voice almost drowned out by the sound of another explosion. "We can't be late before Michael destroys us!"
What Alice said was true, because if they were destroyed by Michael's attack then Michael would rule over everything. Only they knew about their desire to rule the world through the Mutiiner Group hierarchy and alien colonization. Therefore, they must stop this and defeat Michael as soon as possible before everyone else.
Jhonny nodded quickly, then looked toward the exit. Michael would not let them reach the alien gate so easily. He knew Michael would continue to attack mercilessly. They had to find another way to get there. "Come on! Follow me!" Jhonny pulled Alice out from behind the wall, and the two of them began to run through the narrow passages, trying to avoid the shots coming from Michael.
Michael, now filled with rage, pursued them relentlessly. He fired at Johnny and Alice with his advanced weapon, because of which the floor beneath their feet shook violently like an earthquake. However, the two continued to run, their resolve growing stronger with every step they took.
On the other hand, at The Jackal's headquarters, the battle between Jhonny's followers and Michael's subordinates was heating up. Explosions and gunfire were heard everywhere, adding intensity to the already tense atmosphere. The members of The Jackal, although tired, continued to fight with their remaining spirit. They knew that Jhonny and Alice were fighting elsewhere, and they had to do their part to defend the base. Miranda led the tech attack, while Jimmy and the rest of the members withstood the onslaught of the relentless MFH forces.
"We must defend!" shouted Miranda, directing her team to keep fighting back. "Jhonny and Alice are fighting out there. We can't let them lose!"
Meanwhile, Jhonny and Alice made it to the small hangar inside the headquarters where the advanced aircraft were kept. Jhonny immediately boarded one of the small, fairly fast planes, while Alice quickly followed. However, before they could take off, Michael suddenly appeared, riding a larger, heavily armed fighter plane of his own.
"You won't get away from me!" exclaimed Michael over the plane's communication system. He fired several plasma rounds that almost hit Jhonny and Alice's plane. A huge explosion sounded behind them, making their plane shake violently.
Jhonny immediately started the engines and took their plane out of the hangar. The plane shot into the sky, but Michael continued to chase behind them. The chase in the air began.
"Alice, you need to find your way to the basement!" shouted Jhonny as he tried to dodge the shots from Michael's plane.
Alice quickly checked the map on the screen in front of her, looking for the fastest path to the basement. However, Michael didn't give them much time. Shot after shot rained down on their plane. Some of the shots hit the wings of the plane, disrupting their navigation system.
"I found it!" Alice exclaimed when she saw the path they had to take. "But we have to hold on!"
Jhonny nodded, his face full of tension. Their plane weaved through the air, trying to avoid the oncoming attacks from Michael. As they sped between the debris of old buildings and ruins, their plane finally took a direct hit in the back.
The plane shook violently. "Hold on, Alice!" shouted Jhonny as he tried to control the airplane that was starting to lose control.
"I'm trying!" replied Alice, trying to remain calm despite the growing chaos.
Alice's hands were trembling, and her face looked pale from the overwhelming tension. Jhonny felt guilty that the person he loved had to experience something like this. Jhonny felt that he was a man who lacked the strength to protect his partner.
A few seconds later Jhonny dismissed that thought, he thought that he had to focus now on protecting the woman he loved. He couldn't let his guard down and he had to make sure that they both got to where they were going and managed to stop Michael so that the cruelty of the world could be stopped.
Another explosion occurred behind them, nearly splitting the plane in half. Jhonny knew they wouldn't be able to stay in the air much longer. Quickly, he made a bold decision.
"We have to jump!" he said suddenly.
Alice looked at him in surprise. "What? Are you serious?"
Jhonny nodded. "It's the only way. Michael won't stop. We have to jump now before we fall."
Reluctantly, Alice agreed. They grabbed Alice's whip, and as their plane began its steep dive towards the cliffs below, Jhonny and Alice jumped from the plane with the help of the whip. The whip's rope stretched long, wrapping around a large rock at the edge of the cliff.
They dangled in the air, the wind in their faces, but they managed to survive.
Above, Michael watched as their plane disintegrated and crashed down. With a satisfied smile, he thought that Johnny and Alice were dead. "The end of you two," he muttered under his breath. He turned around and immediately flew towards the alien gate in the basement. He thought the fight was over.
However, Michael didn't know that Jhonny and Alice were still alive. They dangled from the cliff with the help of Alice's whip, panting but still in one piece.
"That was close," Alice said breathlessly, staring down the steep cliff.
Jhonny nodded, his face full of sweat. "We're not done yet. We still have work to do."
Carefully, the two of them began to climb the cliff, using the whip as a handle. They had to move quickly before Michael reached the alien gate and secured the place. When they finally reached the top, Jhonny looked at Alice with a determined look in his eyes.
"We need to get to the basement before Michael realizes we're still alive," he said. "This is our only chance because we don't have much equipment left with which to fend off Michael's attacks. If this attempt fails, we will lose everything."
Alice nodded. "Come on, we have to move fast."
Without wasting any more time, they started running towards the location of the device that connected the alien world and the human world. Jhonny and Alice knew that this was their last chance to stop Michael and prevent the destruction of the world. There was no time for hesitation or retreat. Behind them, the remains of their plane burned at the bottom of the cliff, but their spirits remained high.
Michael may think he's won, but Jhonny and Alice are still fighting. The fight is not over, and they will not give up until the world is free from the threat of Michael's tyrannical rule and his technology.
Michael just didn't know that the two people he was chasing were already somewhere else and had survived the attack.
