Chapter 44

After an intense conversation that morning, Alice and Jhonny decided to discuss their travel plans together in their private room. They knew the upcoming mission would be extremely dangerous and would require careful preparation, including assembling a reliable team.

"We can't go just the two of us," Alice said as they sat at the dining table. "I know we have experience, but traveling to the planet Gronion, 100 light years away from earth, is not something we can take lightly."

Jhonny nodded in agreement. "I was thinking the same thing. We need more than just experience and courage. It's not just about overcoming technical problems or enemies we might encounter there, but we also need people who can handle extreme physical and environmental conditions."

Alice squeezed his hand, then looked deeply at Jhonny. "Who do you think we can bring?"

Jhonny pondered for a moment, remembering the names of people he had worked with on various missions and organizations. "I know three people who might be able to help us. They used to work with me in the Mutiiner group, but now they work in different organizations after the alien invasion is over."

"Who are they?" asked Alice, her eyes full of curiosity.

"Denada, Rian, and Fredy," Jhonny replied with certainty. "They all have unique skills that can help us greatly in this mission. I'm sure if they're on our team, the chances of this mission succeeding will be much greater."

Alice was silent for a moment, remembering Jhonny's story about the three of them. "Tell me more about them."

"Denada," Jhonny began, "is someone who has extraordinary body elasticity. She can slip into tight places that would be impossible for a normal human to reach. This ability could be very useful if we have to get into facilities or environments that are difficult to access on Gronion."

"Body elasticity?" Alice raised her eyebrows, looking impressed. "How did he manage to train that ability?"

Jhonny smiled slightly. "It's not something she practiced-it's the effect of a genetic mutation after the invasion. Some people have gene mutations that give them extraordinary physical or mental abilities, and Denada is one of them."

Alice nodded, reminding herself that the genetic mutations after the alien invasion had produced some individuals with abilities beyond normal. "And what about Rian?"

"Rian," continued Jhonny, "has a very high body durability. She's like a living shield. In addition, his main weapon is an energy shield that can protect us from various threats. If we encounter a dangerous situation, I'm sure Rian can keep us safe."

Alice looked impressed. "He could be the perfect vanguard. Especially in an unfamiliar environment, we need someone who can protect us."

Jhonny continued, "And finally, Fredy. He has very fast reflexes and the ability to improvise in critical situations. Fredy can always find solutions at critical moments. He's good at making quick decisions, and I think in this mission, we'll often be in situations where improvisation is key."

Alice nodded, contemplating the options. "So, we have someone who can sneak, someone who can protect, and someone who can improvise. Sounds like the perfect team."

"Yes," Jhonny replied firmly. "I trust them. We've fought together in worse conditions than this. But the problem is, do they want to go on this mission? Because after the alien invasion ended, they moved to another institute that focuses on developing post-apocalypse human civilization. They may already have other commitments."

Alice thought for a moment before finally nodding. "We can't know until we ask them directly. We'll have to contact them."

Jhonny smiled. "That's what we'll do."

The next morning, Alice and Jhonny went back to see Miranda in her office. After explaining the results of their discussion, Miranda looked at them with a serious yet respectful gaze.

"Have you decided who you will take on this mission?" Miranda asked.

Jhonny nodded. "Yes, we decided to have Denada, Rian, and Fredy join our team. We need their skills to complete this mission. Denada with her elasticity, Rian with his incredible durability, and Fredy with his reflexes and ability to improvise."

Miranda smiled at the names. "I know them. They are all very reliable. And I understand why you chose them to participate. They have unique abilities that could indeed be very useful in this mission."

Alice smiled with relief, but there was still curiosity lingering in her mind. "Is it possible that they would want to join this mission? Considering they're already working in other institutions now."

Miranda patted the back of Alice's hand gently. "That's what we're going to find out now."

Miranda immediately picked up her tablet and started typing fast, contacting the three people in question through the specialized communication system that the research institute had. After a few minutes, she stopped typing and looked at Alice and Jhonny with a faint smile.

"I've already contacted them," Miranda said. "But we might have to wait a while before they can give us an answer."

Alice sighed, feeling a little nervous. "I hope they agree."

Jhonny nodded, his gaze focused on Miranda's tablet screen. "It's not an easy mission, but I'm sure they'll understand how important this is."

Miranda closed her tablet and looked at the two of them. "Now we just have to wait for their response. But trust me, if they realize how important this mission is for the salvation of mankind, I'm sure they'll agree."

Alice and Jhonny looked at each other, feeling a mixture of anxiety and hope in their hearts. They knew that this mission was not just another space exploration, but a journey that would determine the future of humanity. Without the right team, their chances of success would be slim to none.

"How long do we have to wait?" asked Alice.

Miranda shrugged. "They'll respond as quickly as possible. But don't get your hopes up that they'll give us an answer within minutes. We have to give them time to consider everything."

Alice nodded, although the sense of anxiety could not completely disappear from her mind. This mission would be the biggest challenge of her and Jhonny's life. If they were to succeed, they needed a strong team-and that meant Denada, Rian, and Fredy had to come along.

Jhonny squeezed Alice's hand, giving a gesture of support. "No matter what happens, we'll face this together."

Alice nodded and smiled weakly. "Yes, we will face this together."
