Chapter 33
The battle continued to rage at The Jackal's headquarters. The weapon developed from Daniel's technology was successfully activated, giving The Jackal new hope. However, shortly after that, the situation became more complicated than Jhonny had anticipated. Instead of gaining a clear advantage, their strength was only on par with MFH, not surpassing it as expected.
"What's wrong?" muttered Jhonny, feeling frustrated. He turned to Miranda, who also looked puzzled by it.
"We have the same technology as them, but why can't we win?" asked Miranda in the same frustrated tone. She continued to fiddle with the device they had just created, trying to find a solution amidst the growing pressure.
On the other hand, Michael and his troops from MFH continued to pound relentlessly. Their weapons systems seemed to show no signs of running out of power. Explosions and gunfire continued to rain down on The Jackal's base, causing parts of the building to collapse.
"We're running out of energy!" shouted one of The Jackal's members who was trying to operate their new automatic weapon. "We won't last long!"
Jhonny looked up at the smoke-filled sky, Michael's attacks showing no signs of stopping. He knew that they were already in a desperate position, even with their new technology. "How did this happen?" he thought.
Meanwhile, Alice was fighting on the other side of the base, not saying much, but moving with incredible speed and skill. Her every move seemed well-planned, as if she knew exactly what she was doing-even without the knowledge of Jhonny or the other members.
The battle was getting fiercer. The explosions from MFH's weapons continued to shake the ground, making many members of The Jackal begin to tire. They had been fighting for too long without stopping. Meanwhile, the MFH troops never seemed to run out of energy. Michael stood in the midst of his troops, watching all of this with a smile on his face.
"It's only a matter of time," he muttered as he observed the battle. "Soon, The Jackal will be destroyed."
Some of The Jackal's members were beginning to feel desperate. They looked at Jhonny who was still leading with courage, but fatigue was starting to show on his face.
"We can't hold out much longer," whispered one member to another. "They're too strong. We're running out of power, and they keep attacking."
Michael also noticed this, and his smile grew wider. "They're starting to collapse," he said to Daniel beside him. "It's time for the final assault."
Daniel nodded, then ordered the MFH troops to increase the intensity of the attack. "This is the end of The Jackal," he said in a confident tone.
Jhonny, who realized the attacks were getting crazier, knew that they couldn't hold out for long. Even with their technology, The Jackals were faced with energy problems. Their weapons required more power than they could supply in this long battle.
"We need more energy," Jhonny said to himself, feeling desperate. "Without it, we can't survive."
What Jhonny said was true, energy was the source of everything because everything they held were tools that needed to be supported using energy. Without that energy, the tools were now just a set of metals and materials that could not do anything.
Since The Jackal has not been around as long as the other groups, the resources owned by this group are not as great as those owned by the other groups. Therefore, Jhonny, who holds the power as the leader of this group, has a policy to plunder other groups as a form of increasing the resources owned by this group while also stopping the crime from the systematic Mutiiner group that has been enforced so far.
As the MFH attack approached, Michael stood confidently in the center of his troops. "This is it," he said with a triumphant smile. "The final shot."
The MFH troops prepared to deliver the finishing blow that they believed would completely destroy The Jackal. Michael was convinced that this was the end.
However, amidst the chaos, Alice moved silently. Unnoticed by anyone, not even Jhonny, Alice had slipped between the rubble and reached MFH's main energy source. With incredible speed and skill, she managed to take advantage of the flurry of battle and managed to steal MFH's power energy materials without being detected.
With the new power source in hand, Alice returned to The Jackal's headquarters. No one noticed her arrival until the last moment. She moved quickly towards Miranda who was still struggling with their technological devices.
"Alice?" Miranda looked surprised when she saw Alice appear with a strange object in her hand.
"What did you bring?" asked Miranda.
Alice just smiled and placed the energy material on the technology equipment table. "This is the energy source they're using," she replied briefly.
Miranda was stunned. "How did you get it?"
"No time to explain. Use this to recharge our weapons. We have a chance to turn against them," Alice said in a firm tone.
Miranda immediately connected the energy material to the device they had created. Immediately, The Jackal's automatic weapons began to glow brighter, indicating that they were getting a much larger supply of energy than before.
Jhonny, who saw this change, felt that something was strange. "What's going on?" he asked, approaching Miranda and Alice.
"Alice managed to steal their energy source," Miranda replied quickly. "We have enough power now."
Jhonny stared at Alice, unable to believe what he had just heard. "You stole it from them?"
Alice just nodded briefly, her eyes full of conviction. "I won't let us lose so easily."
On the other side of the battle, Michael observed from a distance and realized that something had changed. The Jackal's attacks, which had started out weak, were now getting stronger.
"No way!" Michael shouted angrily. "What's going on?"
Daniel who was beside him started checking their systems. "Sir, we're losing a lot of energy. Someone has stolen it!"
Michael became even angrier. "Who would dare do that?!"
Just then, he saw Alice in the distance, standing next to Jhonny and Miranda. Her eyes blazed with hatred. "Alice!" he shouted. "You traitor!"
Alice stared at Michael from a distance, unfazed by the accusation. Calmly, she retorted, her voice clearly audible amidst the noise of the battle. "I've never betrayed anyone, Michael," she said firmly. "I was never loyal to you or MFH. I dedicated my life to The Jackal from the moment you sold me out."
Michael winced at those words. How could someone who was once part of his group now stand on the side of the enemy? "You'll regret it, Alice!" he shouted angrily.
However, Alice was not deterred. She knew very well who the real enemy was. To her, MFH was not an ally, but an enemy that was more ruthless than it appeared on the surface.
With the new energy source obtained from MFH, Jhonny and Miranda immediately activated all their automatic weapons. A devastating counterattack ensued. The weapons were now much more powerful and faster than before, overwhelming the MFH forces.
Michael, who was initially confident of victory, now realized that the tables had turned. The Jackal, who previously seemed on the verge of defeat, now had an unexpected advantage.
MFH's troops began to retreat one by one. They were unprepared for a force of this magnitude. "This is impossible!" Michael shouted, watching his troops crumble before him.
Jhonny and Alice led the counterattack with even greater vigor. Explosion after explosion occurred, shattering the MFH ranks. In no time, the MFH army that had previously looked so formidable was now on the verge of collapse.
Michael withdrew reluctantly, but his anger never subsided. "This isn't over," he said to himself, filled with hatred.
The Jackals, on the other hand, were cheering triumphantly. They knew that this battle had led them in the right direction, although they still had many challenges ahead.
Alice looked at the now silent battlefield, then turned her gaze to Jhonny. "I dedicate myself to The Jackal," she said again in a determined tone.
Jhonny nodded, then smiled slightly. "You're an important part of this, Alice. Thank you."
And for a moment, amidst the rubble of battle, Alice felt a peace she had never felt before.
