Chapter 55
"Damn you, disgusting creature! I won't let you hurt my comrades, and even more so... my wife!"
His voice trembled with a force that reflected all the anger and hatred he had for the alien due to the alien's abduction of his wife.
The alien leader standing proudly before them only smiled sarcastically, grinning with his disgustingly sharp teeth. "You think you can protect them? Especially that woman." His eyes narrowed, as if mocking every effort Jhonny had made. "She'll be the perfect vessel. I've waited too long for this. You're not bringing her back."
Those words ignited the anger in Jhonny like a fire doused in gasoline. Alice, who was still bound in the corner of the room, tried hard to fight the fear that haunted her. Her anxious eyes tried to meet Jhonny's, even though her mouth was covered by a disgusting cloth. Her hands were bound, her body weak, but the determination in her eyes remained unwavering. With just one look, Jhonny knew that Alice was asking for help-and his heart broke at the condition of the wife he loved so much.
Without thinking, Jhonny raised his plasma weapon and opened fire on the alien leader. Each shot fired was accompanied by a burning rage, as if he wanted to finish off the enemy with nothing but the power of his emotions. However, even though the plasma blasts struck directly at the alien's body, the creature just stood there, immovable. The energy shield protecting its body emitted a powerful blue light, absorbing every shot with ease.
"No way..." Jhonny cursed, his eyes widening at how formidable the alien was. He felt a deepening sense of frustration.
Rian who stood behind, observing the situation, realized that Jhonny was acting rashly. Anger had taken hold of his best friend, and that could be a big mistake in a situation like this. "Jhonny! Be careful!" he shouted as he ran forward, protecting Jhonny with his super strong shield.
Rian immediately stood between Jhonny and the alien, using his shield to block any potential counterattacks from the disgusting creature. He realized that this battle could not rely on anger alone. The alien was too powerful to be fought head-on without careful tactics.
"Damn, the shield is too strong!" Jhonny cursed, gritting his teeth, still feeling helpless despite putting all his energy into the attack.
The alien leader just chuckled, his voice electrifying the room. "You'll never get through my shield, weakling," he said in a disdainful tone. "You will all die here, and that woman will be mine."
Those words made Jhonny's blood boil even more. However, this time Rian grabbed his shoulder, signaling him to stay calm. "Don't let him bait you. We have to find another way," Rian said in a firm tone. "It's not just about offense, we need a strategy."
Meanwhile, Denada and Fredy stood at the back, keeping watch with their weapons at the ready. Both realized that if they all focused too much on the alien leader, there could be other threats emerging from behind or the other side of the room. The two of them exchanged glances, communicating without words.
"We have to find a way to release Alice," Denada whispered, her eyes still alert on every corner of the room.
Fredy nodded, though he also looked confused. "But how? We don't even know how the defense system here works yet. We can't just randomly attack, it might endanger Alice."
Denada bit her lip, thinking hard. "We need to look for weak points in this room. There might be something we can exploit." Her gaze traveled around the room, looking for anything that looked like a mechanism or control device. However, with the large alien still standing in the center of the room, it was difficult for them to move freely without attracting attention.
Back at the front, Rian tried to calm Jhonny, who was still visibly burning with anger. "We have to think clearly. This alien leader is definitely not just any enemy. He must have a weak point, and we must find it."
"There's no time!" Jhonny insisted, but he knew that Rian was right. They couldn't keep attacking blindly.
The alien leader stepped forward with heavy steps, his booming voice filling the room. "You humans are weak creatures. There is nothing you can do to stop your destiny. You will only fall prey to us, like the others."
With a swift step, the alien raised one of its tentacles that protruded from its back, floating in the air like a huge whip ready to strike. The tentacle extended and with lightning speed, aimed directly at Jhonny and Rian.
"Quick, take cover!" shouted Rian as he raised his shield, blocking the incoming attack. The tentacles slammed into Rian's shield with tremendous force, emitting sparks from the powerful impact.
Jhonny immediately stepped back, trying to find a safe angle to counterattack. "Damn it! This thing's power is too great. We have to find a way to outsmart its shield."
Rian remained calm under the onslaught of the alien tentacles, but she knew they couldn't last long by just holding on. "Denada, Fredy! Do you see anything in this room that can help us?"
Denada, who was still searching for a solution, finally saw something on the back wall. There was some sort of panel hidden behind a layer of disgusting alien slime. "Over there! There's a panel on the back wall! It could be a control device for this alien shield or even for controlling this room!"
Fredy nodded quickly, then glanced at Denada. "We should try that. It might be the only way."
"Okay, we're moving," Denada said as she prepared to jump towards the panel. However, their steps were blocked by the alien leader who seemed to be starting to realize their intentions.
The alien glanced at Denada and Fredy with fiery red eyes. "You think you can outsmart me? You'll die before you touch anything!"
Jhonny and Rian moved quickly, luring the alien's attention with successive attacks. Jhonny fired several plasma shots at the alien's tentacles, trying to slow it down.
Meanwhile, Fredy and Denada moved towards the back wall, jumping over some of the debris and slime that covered the floor. They had to act fast, because every wasted second could mean death.
"I'll try to dismantle this panel," Denada said as she pulled out a small cutting tool from her bag. "But it will take time."
Fredy nodded. "I'll stand guard here. Hurry up, we don't have much time."
Jhonny, who was still fighting at the front, tried to buy time. "Rian, we need to hold this thing off longer!"
"I know!" replied Rian while blocking attack after attack. They knew this was a fight that wouldn't be easy to win, but they also knew that Alice-and all the women they freed-were depending on them. And this time, they would not back down. No matter how big an opponent they had to face.
