Chapter 9
After being brought to the technology division, I got to know many people there, although they didn't seem too friendly at first, but in fact they were also willing to accept my presence together well.
My first days in The Jackal group made quite an impression on me even though I initially thought that I would be treated very badly and end up tragically in this group. That fear was allayed by the pretty good attitude of all of them.
They weren't the type of people who easily showed expressions of pleasure or friendliness but at least they didn't treat me badly. That's how I feel right now and hopefully that won't change in the future.
"Today you must participate in the code-GF1 mission."
I, who was eating my breakfast, was so surprised that I almost choked. How could I not? There was no briefing before this plan would start and even a few days before I wasn't told at all that there would be a mission like this. At least I could have mentally prepared a bit before going on the mission if I had been informed in advance, but in fact that damn Jhonny informed me so suddenly like now.
"Today? Didn't you say it wrong?" I asked. "Sorry, did I miss some discussion about this mission? Because I was completely unaware that there would be a mission out of the base because I wasn't informed beforehand."
"Hm? Is that necessary?"
Jhonny tilted his head and looked surprised at me. Wait? Is this guy never told about good order before an activity? I know that in this world there may be impulsive people but that does not mean that an impulsive person has no plan at all and does not coordinate with his colleagues.
This is completely contradictory to the systematic arrangement of the parts in this base. He strategized to make this base as therapeutic as possible for him and his members, but in fact in acting for a mission he was very impulsive and even I had no idea that there would be a mission carried out outside the base with him.
What makes me upset is that I'm a new member here and don't understand anything about the routines there and how they work. Then how am I supposed to do my job well if I'm not told anything about what you have to do and how they carry out their missions.
If I make a mistake and I'm kicked out of this base, isn't that also their fault?
"Excuse me, how can you give orders and directions to your subordinates if you don't give them any information about what they should do? That's how I feel right now because I don't know what I should do to help you guys and complete my mission," I said a little unhappily.
Jhonny's face changed quickly in a short time, he brought his face closer to me and seemed to want to counter-protest what I had said to him.
"You're so fussy like an old lady who lost her false teeth during the day. Why do boring things like that when you can do everything with your instincts and thinking. A person who is too fixated on directions is a person who lacks intelligence because he can't think fast and can't improvise his work properly."
I paused, the outline of the reasons he put forward for his thinking was true. But that doesn't mean it can be justified literally because it's tantamount to making an activity in a vague way.
"Do you want to know why I named this Mutiiner group as The Jackal?"
To make him happy for a while, I interrupted and said yes to his question. After all, I was also a little curious about the philosophy of the name of this Mutiiner group. Because surely in every group there is a philosophy or definition that can explain the meaning of the name of their Mutiiner group.
"The meaning of The Jackal is literally a wolf or a group of wolves. Of course, the reason for choosing the wolf as the name and symbol of the group is not only because the group is expected to be a strong group that can fight against other groups and cannot be oppressed. But also because the members in this Mutiiner group are required to be able to think quickly and improvise all the possibilities they will face. Yes, actually it's also because I don't like being too organized in a plan, I feel that your movements become rigid if I follow a plan too much and can't move freely."
I'll take that as an admission and now I understand why The Jackal was chosen as the name of this Mutiiner group. And it turns out that the crazy idea that became the basic way of working in this group came from the crazy thoughts of their leader as well. I couldn't figure out what kind of freedom Jhonny meant.
"So what if your subordinates cause chaos because they don't have a plan or have no guidance in acting for their mission?" I asked.
Actually, my question was just to satirize a bit about Jhonny's crazy thinking. So he can be a little satirized and start rethinking about how he organizes his subordinates for each mission.
"Chaos? I've never been afraid of so-called chaos."
I patted my forehead not even bothering to do that in front of him. This was tantamount to saying that this man was indeed the definition of a crazy man.
"Why? I mean, doesn't that mean your subordinates didn't do their roles well during the mission?" I asked again.
Jhonny chuckled and gave me an exasperated look. "After this I'm going to call you an old granny bitch. Your thinking is so conservative and rigid."
Jhonny then pushed me gently until I was crushed between his body and the wall behind me. I can even feel the man's breath blowing right in front of my face, I've never been this close to Jhonny, it turns out he's handsome.
Oh my gosh Alice, don't be stupid. This guy is a crazy guy who you can't just admire, what is love anyway? Come to your senses.
"Get your stinky breath out of my face, damn it."
Instead of getting angry, Joni laughed. Does she have masochistic tendencies? Then I'll have to add to my long list of pet peeves towards this guy because his traits are all filled with the category of crazy.
"So you need to be intimidated by a handsome man for your brain to move flexibly. But just so you know, Miss. I said that just now not without reason. But what each member of this group is supposed to do is to cause chaos, so don't worry about them causing chaos, because that's my goal."
