21. Alyssas Anger

It was decided unanimously that Paris was volunteering to take them to the cigar lounge. When they started talking about it during the lunch, Alyssa was clueless. She had no idea what was going on. Also, what’s a cigar lounge? That’s when Miriam explained to her how the rich farts went to the lounge and showed off their wealth by ordering the most expensive drinks and cigars. Very eloquent that one.

The reason Paris couldn’t hold her excitement was her boyfriend got a permanent position in the lounge. She wanted to celebrate with everyone.

“Alyssa please it’ll be fun!”

Paris pouted, blinking at her. She’s been trying to convince the omega that staying out after eight in the night was acceptable. The omega was not so sure about that part as she never went out late. But then everyone started insisting, and Alyssa didn’t want to be a spoilsport, so she agreed. One day the peer pressure would stop getting to her—one day.

With a shrug, she meekly nodded her head.

Steve made a sound. “Finally! Paris and I can pick you after everyone.”

The assistant hummed, getting back to her lunch.

Alyssa had to sort out the schedules for the rest of the day. She managed to stay in her office for the last few hours, which was a miracle.

As soon as she got home, Alyssa picked one of the new dresses and slipped it on. It didn’t take her much effort to set her hair and put on some lipstick because that’s the only make up the thing she did.

She only had to wait five minutes before a loud horn was honking right outside her door. A groan slipped out of her throat as it caused a rumble to her sensitive ears. It also scared her knowing that the neighbours can complain about the noise disturbance.

Alyssa hurried up and locked her door before exiting and then rushed into the car. The car smelled good, or maybe it’s just the combination of different scents. Her eyes went wide as they all cheered at her to which the omega shyly smiled. They were a bit ridiculous but in a fun kind of way.

“I thought you would make us wait forever” Miriam teased.

Alyssa shook her head with a sly grin. “Maybe next time.”

Their entire way they started humming along to the radio, yelling the lyrics on top of their lungs. Alyssa couldn’t stop smiling the entire ride. After what seemed like an eternity, they finally stopped only to pull into a gravel parking lot. There were a ton of cars all lined up; a valet is standing behind a podium with a red jacket on, and a sign is on the ground that read the parking charges.

Alyssa's eyes went wide. “Wow.”

Paris rolled the window down and handed the guy some bills. The valet nodded, rushing to open the door for everyone before he handed them a ticket. They had to give him the car keys as well.

The guy then came around and opened the door for Alyssa and the remaining of them. The chill crisp in the air made her shiver, almost making her regret for not wearing an overcoat. The sheer dress was not doing her any favours.

She took a few minutes to stare at the huge door as they were ushered inside, wondering how she got there. Alyssa couldn’t believe that she’s actually not in the village anymore. The whole experience still made her lips curl. It’s been worth all that fighting.

“Do you know what you want to get?” Steve asked, looking over his shoulder.

Alyssa shook her head. It’s her first time, and she had no idea what to get. For the moon's sake, she never tried hard liquor before.

“It’s alright I will order for you.”

“Hi! Just one round of gin and cranberry for everyone, top shelf, and then some Yellow Acid cigars please.” Steve ordered smoothly, and the woman behind the bar seemed to be drowning in his voice. It made Alyssa's lips twitch. She knew that feeling. Not with Steve but her bosses. The omega got so dumbfounded around her.

As they all sat in the farthest corner, Alyssa took her time to look around.

“I have never been to a cigar lounge before.” She admitted in a whispered, turning towards Paris.

Paris smiled at her. “No need to be nervous, babe. I know the manager so just relax.”

Alyssa deflated at that. She almost forgot that the manager was Paris boyfriend.

“I hope you have fun tonight since this is your first time here you probably shouldn’t inhale too much.”

The omega nodded her head, and then the lady strutted towards them with a tray in her hands. She placed five drinks down on one table, and then five cigars on the other table, along with a lighter and a cigar cutter.

“Enjoy!” She winked at them before disappearing back in the crowd.

Paris lifted the blunt before sniffing at the cigar, her eyes rolling back. She handed one to Alyssa, who did the same. A strange realisation dawned on her face. They smell good.

“I like that.” She hummed.

Paris smiled and nodded as she rolls it between her fingers a few times before cutting the tip-off and then lighting the other end. The beta put the cigar in her mouth and made five rapid inhales/puffs, before taking a long drawl. She stopped burning the other end before leaning back to exhale.

“Wow,” Alyssa gawked.

The omega tried to inhale and then turned her head to blow. She coughed a few times and took a sip of her drink which burned in her throat. It’s also good. She liked it, feeling all warm and tingly. By the end of it, shes a bit tipsy and wasn’t even ashamed of it.

They all started talking by the time Paris boyfriend was done with his shift. He promised to meet them at the end because he didn’t want to abuse his position. Alyssa respected him for that.

“Mmh has anyone seen Eric today?” Riya made a lip-smacking sound, her eyes droopy and head lolled back.

Steve shook his head and leaned back, content to sip his drink.

Paris snorted. “Let’s not talk about my ex while I’m celebrating”

“You got lucky, though! He’s smoking hot” Miriam slapped her thigh, her lips twisted.

At the mention of Eric Bellini, Alyssa shivered. She hated him. Really, she did. The sad part was that she still wanted him around, always wanted him to be her boss. Maybe even more. Why? Because that man was just too attractive. He was the embodiment of lust and power. A strange combination that she never witnessed before. The Alphas who tried to court her back were all dumb wits with only one intention in their heads. Not to mention they couldn’t tolerate the omegas working—typical Alpha mentality. But Eric was different, or atleast she thought. Also, the way he kissed made her knees weak and toes curl. It's different from all the other kisses she had before. More aggressive and passionate.

The omega scoffed, swallowing another gulp from her pint of beer. Of course, he kissed like the end of the world.

Why was she thinking about him again? Alyssa just wanted a night with no worries. All the work Eric loaded on her purposely gave her far too much stress, and she intended to drink it all away, to have a night of no worries. And what day would be better than today? Tomorrow was her day off, so she could sit in bed all day with a hangover, and it wouldn't matter.

“I need another drink” She stood up, rushing towards the bartender.

There was another guy behind the counter.

“Anything else, cutie?” He grinned after she slurred her order.

Alyssa gawked at him. The bartender looked down at her with an innocent smile. He was around her age, maybe a little older, but attractive.

As the man handed her a newly filled glass, the omega studied him. Just as she was about to accept the glass, she felt a cold breath on her neck. Her hair on the neck stood up as an unknown Alpha slipped closer to her.

“Your place or mine?” His dirty words echoed in her ears, and she parted her mouth.

“Neither,” A familiar voice snarled.

As soon as that drunk Alpha left, she turned towards Eric with a murderous glint in her eyes. “Mr Bellini”

“What the hell was that?!”

“What? I defended you.”

She scoffed. “I could have defended myself. I’m talking about your lies. Why did you tell him that you are my Alpha.”

Her boss faltered before bitterly laughing.”I was only trying to help.”

“Did I ask?”

Eric made a face. “Doesn’t matter omega. Let’s go now.”

Alyssa almost growled as her boss tugged on her wrist, dragging her out of the bar. Much like a child, she struggled from this grip. It was futile.

“Where are we going?” She demanded.

No answer.
