CHAPTER 16
“I deeply regret everything I have caused you to go through, but you must believe me when I say that only you are qualified to bear my children. I'll get rid of her and make you mine one day. Just trust me and wait a little longer,” he enticed her with the truth. This was his promise to himself at the time.
Before he realized she was a clone, he had given her infertility medication. He was aware that if the two married, she would never be able to conceive his child, but who could have predicted that all his efforts would be for naught but a clone?
He gave Gwen the medicine again after killing the clone he couldn't find until now. She will never be able to hold his child, no matter what she does. Only Clara was fit to carry on his lineage.
When she told him she wanted his child, he was thrilled. He might as well give her a child to accompany her if he couldn't be open with her right now. He had never considered having children at such a young age, but now he wished to.
He remembered the child they had to get rid of when he didn't have power, but things had changed now. He had the fortitude to defend and care for his family.
“I have always believed in you,” Clara said, burying herself in his embrace.
He listened to her breathing, which had evened out after a few minutes. He didn't blame her for falling asleep. He'd thrown her around so hard earlier just to beat the crap out of her.
He'd never seen her so enraged before, but she was enraged today. She had not returned his phone calls or text messages. Nolan had to leave his wife at the villa and drive to Clara to appease her. She'd made up an excuse about being away from her phone, which turned out to be a lie.
Only after he confronted her did she cry and pour her heart out. He heard all her complaints for the first time, which made his heart ache. So, he couldn't say no when she asked for a child. If Gwen isn't going to give him a child, he might as well give Clara one.
Nolan did not sleep, instead quietly getting out of bed and going to the bathroom to clean himself. He went back into Clara's room with a wet towel and cleaned her up. After cleaning the two of them, he joined her in bed.
He didn't get much sleep, though, because he got a disturbing call that made him lose his cool. He kissed Clara goodbye before hurrying to meet the person who had made the call.
He was handed a file, which he opened, when he came to a halt and the other person joined him. The file contained information on the woman he had seen earlier that week in the mall.
The clone who fell off the cliff was the same Gwen replica he suspected. He was perplexed by what he read in the file, but he was not going to back down. While everything told him it wasn't her, he was convinced it was the same person.
“She is currently secretly married to Chandler Wagner,” the other man revealed.
This hit him like a ton of bricks because he was well-versed in the antics of the madman Chandler. The Wagner’s were well-known, and he had no idea Chandler would marry, let alone that woman.
“It makes no difference who she's married to. She will derail my plans for as long as she is alive. Simply find a way to isolate her and get rid of her,” Nolan chose to go against the Wagner’s.
He was certain that because this was a secret marriage, she was just a passing fling for Chandler, and that if anything bad happened to her, Chandler's retaliation would be minimal.
As he got out of his car, the man said, "I'll get right on it."
Nolan took a cigarette from his pocket, lit it, and began smoking. If she was lucky enough to survive, it was her own fault for choosing to live in the city where he was. He didn't want anyone with Gwen's face wandering aimlessly in Clegend because it would set off some alarm bells.
Even if she wasn't the clone he was looking for, she was unfortunate to have been born with the face of someone she shouldn't have. He was going to get rid of anything that was impeding him from realizing his dream, even if it meant killing millions of people in the process.
Nolan called Clara after calming down before returning to the villa, where Gwen awaited him. When he saw her, he knew what he had to do; he knew women best, and consummating the marriage was the best thing.
So, Nolan unleashed his rage on the virgin Gwen, ignoring her cries and slamming himself into her over and over until he was completely satisfied.
Gwen clenched her teeth as she cleaned herself in the bathroom. He simply vandalized her; there were no emotions from start to finish, and he didn't even bother kissing her before taking what he desired. Was he like this when he was with Clara?
Gwen sobbed quietly as she let the warm water run over her body, massaging the achy spots. Clara had won this round, making Gwen more vigilant and firmer, particularly when dealing with Clara. Nobody else can have him if she can't.
"You are the one who shaped me in this way; Nolan, don't be surprised when the time comes for retaliation," she told herself as she sobbed until she was done.
Gwen wiped her tears away and returned to her room as if nothing had happened. What she didn't realize was that Nolan felt bad after seeing the blood; he knew he had hurt Gwen, so he followed her to the bathroom to calm her down. He'd been staring at her as she sobbed quietly.
As he prepared to leave, he could hear her whispering to herself. He became enraged and cold when he heard that statement.
He had a hunch about what his wife would be up to in the future, which enraged him to the point where he made a mental note to stay vigilant around Gwen. He wouldn't let her do whatever she wanted.
He was not going to show her mercy if she ever did anything that would harm him. He didn't feel sorry for her because she had plenty of time to think negative thoughts.
As a result, when Gwen climbed into bed to sleep, she was suddenly pressed down and devoured. She could only scream and beg for mercy, but Nolan was no longer paying attention.
Nolan decided to keep her bedridden for a while so she wouldn't have time to think negative thoughts. He was going to torment her on a daily basis until she no longer felt anything.
