CHAPTER 34
Vanity stood there watching as Gwen approached her with the dagger in her hands. Gwen approached her, laughing hysterically. Vanity was very interested in what Gwen would do next. She wanted to see if Gwen would have the courage to plunge that dagger into her or if she would hesitate and let someone else do it.
“You should not have bothered with me!” Gwen said as she plunged the dagger into her heart.
Gwen smiled as she saw Vanity close her eyes; no one could survive that, especially given how weak Vanity had become after all the torture.
“Get rid of her, right away!” Gwen felt great as she issued the command.
Dwain couldn't believe his little sister could do something like this, but seeing her smile made it all worthwhile.
The men rushed to where Vanity was in the hopes of finishing her off, but the horror began before they could do anything to her.
When Gwen turned around, she heard screaming behind her and collapsed to the ground because all she saw were dead bodies. The three men who were supposed to kill Vanity were all dead, and a vampire Vanity smiled as she sank her teeth into one of the men's necks.
“WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU? SHOOT HER RIGHT NOW!”
The order was given, but it was too late. She was unharmed by any of the bullets. It was as if they were in the movie matrix, seeing someone not die after being shot simultaneously after being beaten so badly.
“No wonder she survived,” Douglas murmured as he watched the vampire clone slaughter the men, they had worked so hard to train as if they were ants.
“P-pleaeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee Ahhhhhhhh…..” Gwen screamed, but it was in vain.
Nolan could only drag the wailing Gwen out of the building and drive away with her. He didn't care what happened to the others because all he wanted was to save his own life. If Vanity comes for his life, he will offer Gwen as his replacement because everything has been done for her. He had calculated everything, and the only thing that mattered was his life.
The two had no idea what happened after they left, but Vanity quickly finished all the men and slowly and painfully killed the Drysdale's men.
“I made a promise to myself not to kill you or seek vengeance because you were the ones who brought me into this world. I had vowed not to touch you if you did not seek me first, but you are still so selfish that you delivered yourself to me, and in order to prevent that from happening again, this clone will end your miserable lives,” Vanity said as she sank her teeth into Dwain's neck and instantly claimed his life.
As she approached the man, she had called father for years, she wiped her mouth with the back of her hand.
“I am your father, please don't do this,” Douglas begged, but she didn't even listen as she drained his body dry, just as she had Dwain's.
Douglas truly regretted ever creating that clone to replace his daughter until the second he died, but it was too late to cry over spilt milk.
When Vanity finished her meal, she severed the heads of those present and left the bodies of the Drysdale's men for her husband's people to come and deliver them to their respective homes.
When Chandler arrived, he was greeted by that gruesome scene and directed his men to clean up the mess while leaving the scene alone. He embraced his woman, whose face was swollen to the point where he became enraged and kicked the dead men for a while. Seeing him acting like a child Vanity was so happy that she gave him a smooch on his cheek.
Chandler picked up his wife and drove her back to the villa, where the doctor examined her and allowed her to rest.
“There's no need to go to the doctor; I'll be fine by tomorrow,” Vanity said as she lay in her husband's embrace.
“No matter how much you coax me, I will not allow you to do this again,” Chandler said hoarsely. He was trying to keep his tears at bay. It broke his heart to see her in such pain. He didn't even let Heidi see her like this, or else the young man would start acting strangely again.
That night, the two lay in each other without remorse because what they wanted to achieve had already been accomplished. Gwen will go insane because of what she witnessed, and Nolan will undoubtedly get rid of her. Since Vanity had removed the men from the Drysdale family, the family had already been ruined.
Chandler had dealt the Sheppard a crushing blow by exposing Nolan's schemes to the Sheppard. He didn't want to end the other family because of one person, so he chose to be merciful and let the family care for itself.
They will be so preoccupied that they will be unable to plan any retaliation, and time will fly by. By the time everything is sorted out, Chandler and Vanity will be on their honeymoon, and no one will be a threat to their long-planned marriage.
Chandler kissed his wife and pulled her into another embrace for another well-deserved good night's sleep.
***
After the bizarre cleaning of the Sheppard and Drysdale families, several people speculated on what might have happened, but no one received a conclusive answer because the people involved in the whole thing remained silent.
Isabelle Drysdale had lost both her husband and her beloved son, but she had nowhere to go. She cried herself to sleep as she stared at the two dead bodies, which were cold and devoid of blood.
When she was sober and conscious, the doctor told her a funny story about her husband and son possibly encountering a vampire. Who were they fooling? She knew a lot of strange things, but vampires and werewolves were just myths.
She was aware that the two had gone to deal with the clone, and that both were now dead. It made her regret agreeing to make that thing in the first place. She had lost everyone she cared about because of it.
