CHAPTER 20
Kelly had been busy helping with the wedding preparations ever since they had discussed it. This was a once-in-a-lifetime event. It was also in that timeline that she discovered why some of her friends refused to let Vanity assist them.
Her son was a wolf disguised as a sheep. She would never have known if she hadn't gone to that villa without informing anyone ahead of time. She was so humiliated that she wished the earth would swallow her whole.
She felt sorry for her daughter-in-law, who had to accommodate her son every night. She even got a call from the butler and decided to handle everything herself.
She also noticed that her daughter-in-law was that type of slacker; her son had truly spoiled her rotten, but it didn't matter. All that mattered was that her son was happy.
Since their meeting, Vanity and Heidi had grown so close that Vanity would take Heidi out on dates to get to know each other better. Everyone saw this, and it made them like Vanity even more because they saw that she had no ill will toward Heidi, only genuine love for the young man.
Everything was going so well, and everyone was happy, until the day Vanity simply vanished while out with Heidi. She would never do something like that again. Heidi, distraught, dialed his father's number and told him what had happened.
As a result, the police arrived on the scene and sealed off the area. Vanity and Heidi had gone on their third date in less than a week. He simply agreed to whatever she asked of him because he enjoyed being with her. Their date's purpose was to go clothes shopping. She planned to buy him some clothes and then take him to the movies.
When she went to use the restroom, the two had bought some clothes, and she had not returned to him after twenty minutes. When he tried calling her number, she didn't answer, which made him so worried that he called his father's number.
To make matters worse, all the guards were with him because she had refused to have any guards follow her. They were all used to her demeanor; she didn't like being followed, but Chandler had placed shadow guards around her in case something happens.
So, when it was revealed that Vanity had been kidnapped by someone, Chandler went into overdrive. He was aware of a vampire's power and abilities, and the thought that someone could successfully kidnap her without a fight made him so angry that he wanted to tear that person apart made him want to tear that person apart.
With everyone on the scene assisting in the search for Vanity, Chandler was preoccupied with the shadow guards who were kneeling in shame after failing to locate Vanity.
“So, according to everyone, Vanity didn't go to the restroom but vanished along the way and you couldn't find her?” he gritted his teeth.
“We are deeply sorry, sir; this is not the first time she has done it.”
Chandler listened to the guards as they discussed similar scenarios. Whenever he sent them to find out what she was up to every weekend, they were never able to find out; if she was capable of evading anyone, how did she get caught?
Chandler eventually ordered them all to leave and accept their punishment. He sat in his chair, smoking a cigarette, trying to pry into her mind. There must be a reason she eluded the guards and left Heidi alone with the guards.
A flash of insight flashed through his mind. He was now certain that she was aware that someone was following her, which was why she made certain that Heidi was safe before allowing herself to be apprehended and only left a few hints that she had been abducted.
He understood if the opponent was not strong, she would undoubtedly win and return to him safe, but he wasn't about to sit around and do nothing. Vanity had never done anything to anyone, so she only had a few people who might want to kill her or kidnap her. He couldn't help but sneer as he considered that list.
“Since they want to do it, let's do it all the way!”
Chandler called the other party and told them, "I need you to look into everyone that Nolan Sheppard has been in contact with recently and if there is anyone suspicious around."
If that little jerk kept trying to get rid of his woman, he was going to make him pay, but first he had to get his woman.
However, as night fell and there was still no news on Vanity, the beast within him was unleashed, and as a result, he made a few calls that were supposed to yield results by morning.
His brothers also locked him inside to keep him from causing too much trouble. It was also on this day that Heidi witnessed his father having an episode, and all his hatred for the older man vanished.
He was fortunate to have been raised apart from him; otherwise, something would have happened to him a long time ago, and he felt bad that his father had to go through this alone, with no one to help him.
His grandmother had warned him that only his fated one would be able to completely calm him down or he would die. He deeply regretted going out that day and hoped that Vanity would return safely to them.
He promised himself that when she returned, he would grant her request to stay with them. He will do it as long as she returns to them again. He didn't want to see his father imprisoned like an animal.
He was someone he admired and respected, and this was not something he deserved to go through.
What none of these people realized was that on the outskirts of the city, many people were screaming, crying, and pleading for mercy. As Vanity went completely insane, draining every human being who had participated in this insane operation, there was a complete massacre and onslaught.
Vanity wiped her mouth, which was dripping with the warm blood of the victims she had just slaughtered. She was in a bad mood for a vampire who had been starving for blood for a while because her husband couldn't let her out of his sight.
She had known for a while that someone was following her and was just curious what grudges she had with the other person, which is why she evaded the guards and made sure Heidi was safe before allowing those people to abduct her.
