CHAPTER 35

She couldn't even contact her daughter Gwen or son-in-law Nolan. It was as if the two had simply vanished, which worried her. She only had her daughter left, and she couldn't get in touch with her.
She attempted to contact them, but the Sheppard’s were hostile, implying that they might have an idea. To make matters worse, Nolan's family publicly disowned him, leaving Isabelle with no strong support to back her up.
As a result, everything her family had worked for was taken by those who had long been interested in her family's business. In just two weeks, the company was hostilely taken over, she had to pay her husband's debts, and she had to sell a lot of assets, leaving her with just enough money to last her a while.
She couldn't help but cry again as she walked past the graves of her husband and son. For a woman who was used to having a lot of money to spend in a day, she was now reduced to having to save a lot just to survive.
To think that the people who used to adore her, her friends and family, had all abandoned her. She felt remorse, regret, and a strong hatred for the clone who had caused all this trouble.
As she gazed at the two tombstones of her family members, she vowed, "I WILL FINISH WHAT YOU COULDN'T, YOU MAY NOW REST IN PEACE!"
She wiped away her tears and walked out of the cemetery with her back straight. She wasn't going to trip and fall before sending that damn clone six feet down in honor of her loved ones.
She fastened her seatbelt and looked down at the tablet in the passenger seat. Isabelle unlocked the screen and selected the day's top search. It took her five minutes to watch the live video, and she smashed her tablet with a small hammer in her car.
That damn clone was busy making her wedding vows while she was busy burying her family! She was going to trample her, but she knew she needed time and a plan. She was going to bring her down, even if it meant causing herself harm. Isabelle droves away with a new conviction and a smile on her face.
It has been a long time since the Wagner’s have held such a large event. Today was special because Chandler, Hunter, and Kelly Wagner's firstborn child, was marrying his young and beautiful wife Vanity Pearl, a gem adored by all except those ladies who failed to capture Chandler's heart.
It was hilarious and absurd that, of all the ladies in Clegend, Chandler fell for his own maid, but there was nothing they could do about it. The man had chosen his wife, and he appeared to be in such a state of decay that there was no way they could save him from the pit.
They could only look at the man standing in front of the guests, a bright smile on his face, as he waited for the bride. Chandler stood there looking particularly dashing in a dark purple tuxedo, a black shirt with gold cufflinks that had its two top buttons open because the man didn't wear a tie.
When asked why he didn't wear a tie, his response rendered the stylists speechless, and his brothers vomited blood while being fed dog food.
“She loves me dressed like this,” they were told, so they left the henpecked man alone.
Chandler, the bridegroom, was nervous to the point of sweating his palms, but he didn't show it to the guests and family who had gathered for this special occasion.
He had been married to Vanity for over a month and she was his wife, but on this day, he was officially and publicly taking her as his wife.
He was tense, anxious, and terrified. Everything seemed to him to be a dream. Vanity had worked for him for three months before he took her that night, and yet he had never considered being with her.
She was different from the others because she didn't have that deceptive look in her eyes like the other women who came to work for him only to seduce him and climb into his bed.
For a man like him, who could only help himself with his right hand when the load became too much, it was tempting, but he knew how much pain he went through every time any of those ladies came near him.
He felt better being around Vanity for the first time in his life after awakening the curse, even though the young one never moved. He even considered observing her for a longer period and then forcing her into marriage if she refused to be with him, but he had no idea that his inner beast would run wild when he was drunk.
Even though he was drunk that night, he was able to think clearly. He remembered her scent, her warmth, and, most importantly, her concern for him. Even though he appeared vulnerable at the time, she did not attempt to seduce him or plot against him, which is one of the reasons he let his inner beast loose and claimed Vanity as his.
He remembered how terrified she looked in the morning, how she tried to flee without telling him because she was afraid of being misunderstood. How could he not be smitten by such a woman? Instead of taking advantage of the situation to gain something from him, her first reaction was to leave, and she didn't appear to be scheming when she said it.
She really wanted to leave him because, even though her actions made him happy and relieved, he was so angry that she just wanted to run after eating meat. He was not going to let her do that; as bossy as he is, he gave her a choice, and that choice was to marry him.
He managed to coax the little one into agreeing and tying her down after much coaxing. Even though the little one had many secrets, he knew she would never leave his side from then on.
When he reflected on the times he had doubts about her identity, he was never disgusted, but rather delighted. She wasn't your average person; she didn't have family members to tell her what she should do with her life, which made things easier.
He was shocked and enraged when he witnessed her other vampire identity firsthand. He was angry because she had to feed on other people, and the thought of her meeting other people made his blood boil, but he was also happy because he knew why she had to disappear every now and then.
