CHAPTER 21
She had no idea they were such perverts who wanted a piece of her. She had given herself to her husband, and he was the only one who could have a piece of her. She tolerated them while patiently waiting for the man behind the scenes to emerge, and when he did, she couldn't help but become enraged.
She remembered what that lunatic of a man said as he clenched his skinny hands around her chin.
“You look a lot like her, no wonder he wants to get rid of you,” he said, his eyes filled with lust and desire.
She despised people who were lecherous, such as this man. She could smell death all over this man; he'd had his fair share of bloodbaths and was planning to add her to his list. Was he insane?
“What exactly are you talking about? Who do I resemble?”
“That is none of your business; all you need to know is that today is your last day, and when I'm done with you, I'm going to cut that kid into pieces before I do his father and the rest of the Wagner’s,” he said with disgust in his voice.
She could tell this man despised her husband and his family, so she enquired for more information, only to become even more enraged after hearing the news.
What was the matter with some people? You develop such a crazy mentality that the rich are bad and must be punished and removed simply because they are better than you?
So, Vanity was now smiling devilishly at that pathetic man who had earlier been talking nonsense about her family. She had made certain that she would leave him for the last.
“You...you're a monster!” he yelled as he dragged his bloodied body across the ground.
“I never stated that I wasn't. You and your pitiful boss misjudged me and thought I was still the weakling I was three years ago. Unfortunately, you have put me in a bad mood, and you deserve to be punished,” she said as she appeared in front of him in an instant.
“Please, I will do anything as long as you don't kill me. I will give you the name of the person who wants to kill you,” he begged, expecting her to bite the bait, but who was she?
Vanity had figured out who wanted her dead by this point. Even in the absence of proper evidence, he was willing to go to any length to simply get rid of her. She didn't want to exact any retaliation, but they had forced her to, and she was going to make their lives so miserable that they would regret it.
“I know exactly who wants me dead, and he will be next,” she said as she sank her teeth into his neck and broke it.
She'd had her fill of all the men she'd killed before this skinny man. He was so filthy to her that she had a gut feeling she would suffer if she drank his blood.
She stood by and watched as he suffered until he died. She looked for his phone and discovered two. Among them was a burner, which she turned on and looked at the phone number he had been dialing.
She sent a message to her boss, certain that it was Nolan, the cretin, who had murdered her three years before.
“I WILL COME FOR YOU!”
She took out the SIM card and crashed it after sending the message before finding another phone and calling her husband. She had made a huge mess, and it was time for her husband to come and clean it up.
It was also time for her to be honest; she didn't want anything like this to happen again. This was Chandler's family she was referring to.
When the phone was picked up, she heard someone on the other end who wasn't her husband and asked for Chandler; luckily for her, it was Kurt. Kurt quickly handed Chandler the phone, but she didn't ask as to why her husband wasn't holding it.
When he answered the phone, she heard his trembling voice. She had no idea he would end up like this after she was kidnapped. She felt terrible about everything, so she simply texted him her location and asked him not to call the cops.
She looked at the bloody warehouse after disposing of the phone and turning it into ashes. She couldn't stop laughing like a lunatic. It had been over a year since she had last committed such atrocities, and yet she had struck again. What if he abandons her because of her monstrous side?
She didn't want to live with any more secrets, as it was difficult enough as it was. They needed to communicate, and the sooner they did so, the better.
While she was thinking, she became aware of a sinister presence watching her. She'd never felt anything like that before. Whatever presence has visited her is something she will never be able to defeat if she ever fights it.
She needed to be humble and surrender for something like this, which is why she organized her thoughts and calmed down before calling out.
“I know you're out there somewhere; could you please show yourself?” She had to beg the other to appear because she was afraid that this night would be her last and she would never get the chance to see her man for the last time.
It took her a full minute to notice a cold breeze and a shadow in the warehouse. She had been visited, and all she saw at first was a blur of a person before she saw a woman dressed entirely in crimson red standing right in front of her.
For a moment, she forgot that this woman was the most dangerous species she had ever encountered in her life and focused solely on the woman's beauty. When compared to her, she was average.
She was envious of her crimson red hair because it was so long and beautiful. Everything about the woman in red was so enticing that she couldn't take a breath.
“Are you finished looking?”
“Um, I ... I’m sorry about that. You are just so beautiful,” Vanity said honestly, completely forgetting how scared she had been moments before.
When the woman in red saw this young and honest child, she couldn't help but laugh out loud. It wasn't every day that one met someone of her caliber. She had been present for the entire ordeal. She even wanted to help her, but she was taken aback when she saw how strong the young woman was.
