Delta Headquarters – Part ll
Ophelia sighed as she closed the magazine and set it on the table in front of her. It had been a few hours since she arrived at the Delta Airlines headquarters and she was told to wait in the waiting area. She looked around and fiddled with her phone while waiting for someone to call her. Time passed slowly as she became frustrated and bored.
"Ophelia!" She raised her head when she heard a voice and footsteps approaching her. She rose up as she noticed the middle-aged man in a suit coming to her.
"Mr. Helix!" He motioned her towards the office rooms after she welcomed him.
"Let's go, Ms. Smith is waiting for you," Helix spoke out, and Ophelia looked at him with startled eyes.
"The Joanne Smith?" Helix nodded as she exclaimed. "What does the Chief Human Resources Officer want with me?" Ophelia inquired astounded.
"You and I will both find out soon," Helix replied quietly as he led them to the elevator.
They came to a halt in front of an office after passing through several corridors and offices. Helix knocked on the door and a voice answered,
" Come in,"
Helix pushed the door open and gestured for Ophelia to enter. Helix softly closed the door as he stood by the wooden door.
"Good afternoon, Ms. Smith." Joanne looked up from the file in her hand as Ophelia addressed her. Ophelia's eyes widened slightly as she recognized the woman, but she swiftly concealed her reaction.
"Captain Ophelia Jade! Please have a seat." Joanne motioned for her to sit down and placed the file on the table. Ophelia sat down in one of the vacant chairs.
"I see it's been three years since you've worked with us."
"Yes, ma'am," Ophelia said curtly, and Joanne nodded.
"And there have been numerous complaints filed against you throughout the years. And you have violated the company protocols countless times. " Ophelia grimaced as Joanne lifted her brows.
"I believe you have mistaken ma'am. I don't believe I've done anything against the protocol."
"Is that so," Joanne stated curtly as she took out a file, opened it, and shoved it towards Ophelia. "You've been caught drinking at work, defying aviation instructions, assaulting passengers, and there's a lot more I can mention!" As Ophelia went through the file, Joanne said.
"Are you still going to deny that you haven't violated any of our protocols?"
"The time and date on which I was found drinking are incorrect because I never touched alcohol or cigarette while on call, and the time and date on which I was caught drinking were when I was off duty. I once disobeyed the aviation when they told me to fly at 20,000 although the route was at 35000, and they recognized their error when I climbed to 35000 and safely landed the flight. Concerning the assault, I have the authority to arrest or restrict any passenger on board if they violate any regulations, become feral, or attempt to assault other passengers or crew. In the aforementioned example, I detained a passenger who asked to leave the plane at 35000 altitudes in air thirty minutes after takeoff. So, ma'am, with all due respect, this report and papers are forged." Ophelia stated curtly with a sneaky smirk, and Joanne looked uneasy in her seat.
"If that's what you believe, then so be it. Can you, however, deny your lack of professionalism with your most recent very important client? Can you deny that you were rude and arrogant while dealing with the client and that you repeatedly demanded to be sent back to your vacation?" Joanne leaned forward and asked slyly with a malicious sneer on her lips. "And can you deny that you have been w*horing yourself to that very client throughout the nights, Captain Jade?" In an instant, Ophelia's hand was on Joanne's collar as she got up, shoving the chair on the ground.
"Watch your tongue, Joanne!" Ophelia snarled through clenched teeth, her blood boiling with wrath. "And now you've assaulted the Chief of Human Resources," Joanne smirked. "And you offered the last justification I needed," Joanne hissed as she yanked Ophelia's hand away from her collar. You are fired, Captain Ophelia Jade."
"You filthy piece of trash! But what can I expect from a snake like you when you and they share some blood?" Ophelia gritted her teeth and laughed bitterly. "And-" Joanne was knocked off her feet when a powerful fist landed on her face. Ophelia stood up upright and stretched her arm limbs. "I've always wanted to do it since the night you abandoned me in the middle of the road, soaking in water in the middle of winter!"
"You little b*itch!" Joanne screamed, holding her now bloodied and broken nose. "It's no surprise she abandoned you!" Ophelia laughed as Joanne screamed.
"I'm glad she did. At the very least, I won't have to look at you and their disgusting faces." Joanne screamed again as Ophelia whirled back on her heel.
"I'll make sure that no other airlines hire you, b*itch!"
Ophelia tilted her head and glanced at the woman struggling to get to her feet.
"Oh yeah? Please do, and thank you for firing me. I'm glad I don't have work under someone like you!" Ophelia spun around and dashed out the door, past the stunned Helix.
"Bring me a first-aid kit!" Joanne ordered as Helix stuttered, "Y-yes ma'am." And dashed out of the door.
Joanne pulled out her phone and dialed someone,
"The work is done. She is fired." Joanne exclaimed into the phone, chuckling in response to what the person on the other end of the line and remarked. "Anything for you!"
As she walked out of the office and into the elevator, Ophelia was overwhelmed with rage and dread. She's relieved she won't have to work for someone like Joanne again, but she's terrified that she's now unemployed! And she knows for a fact that Joanne will make sure no one hires her. But the question is how did Joanne find out about her and Onyx spending a night together! When no one knows except her and Onyx!
The elevator door opened and Ophelia looked up to see no one but Onyx Reighs walking out of a hallway right towards her.
"Of course!" Ophelia clenched her teeth, her hatred and rage boiling inside her.
