Home – Part ll
"Ophelia?" Onyx gave her a gentle shake. "Wake up, baby," His voice was gentle as he tried to wake her up. "We are here. Love, wake up." He said it again, and her eyes gradually opened.
She found herself curled up comfortably on his lap. She looked around to see that they were in a car and they were moving. She looked up to see him with affectionate eyes looking down at her.
"Good morning," he said and she smile. "Morning." She said this as she sat up beside him. Her hand was looped around his arm as she rested her head on his shoulder.
"Did you sleep well?" He inquired, and she nodded. Onyx chuckled as she yawned. “You sure do sleep a lot.”
“It’s not my fault that I was deprived of good sleep for the past few months. And I sleep well when you are there with me.” Ophelia muttered and Onyx placed a loving kiss on the crown of her head.
The car made a left turn on the small road, which was flanked on both sides by woodlands. Ophelia looked up as the car climbed slightly upward after passing through a massive metal gate. A manor was nestled in the woods, as lowly as any rock face in these regions. Its windows were as bashful as its eyes, large enough to welcome any ray of sunlight. The granite walls seemed to belong exactly where they were as if they had sprung from that sacred land. It was as if it had been summoned to guard people who came to live within, to keep the elements at bay and enable heat to develop from hearths into the breathed woods air. A thick layer of creamy lichen covered the slate roof of the manor house. The manor had long adored the land, for each stone had the memories of its creation many years before. There was therefore a sense of kinship between the enormous home and the trees that danced in the wind.
Ophelia stared at the house where her other half was born and grew up in. The walls of the manor, the grassy field, trees and woods surrounding the home were where he had run about and grew up. This is where he took his first breath, took his first step, and said his first word. Onyx smiled down at Ophelia as she stared at the house with sparkles in her eyes.
The car came to a halt in front of the enormous portico. And Onyx was the first one to get out of the car. The manor's doors were thrown open as the residents of the manor walked out to greet them. Onyx smiled at them as he went around the car and opened the door for her. Ophelia took his hand and stepped out of the car. When she looked up, she discovered that the people standing in the foyer were staring at her with curious sparkling eyes. Amongst the unknown faces, she recognized one of them, Kieran. A charming warm smile spread across his lips in greeting and she smiled back. Two men stood beside him, both of whom had the same features, such as dusty blonde hair and sparkling brown eyes identical to Onyx's. They were Onyx’s identical twin brothers. Her gaze was drawn to the man standing in front of the brothers. He appeared to be a younger version of Gerbert. He had the same brown eyes as Gerbert, Onyx and the twins.
His aura was one of power and authority, even stronger than Onyx's. As her gaze fell on him, a warm smile spread across his lips.
"Welcome home, darling." As an elegant female voice said, her gaze was drawn to the voice's owner. Her eyes widened slightly as the woman, who appeared to be in her late thirties, approached her with open arms. Ophelia was aware that she was older than that. But her sharp hazel eyes, arched brows peering down on sweeping eyelashes, and a set of shimmering, angel-white teeth gleamed as she smiled at her would lead you to believe otherwise. Her luscious lade gold hair fell just below her shoulder and now she knew where the brothers got their features from.
As the woman drew her into a loving embrace, Ophelia smiled.
"I've been looking forward to seeing you for so long!" Cressida retreated from the hug, and Ophelia smiled.
"Mrs Reighs, it's a pleasure to meet you." Cressida frowned as she spoke.
"Call me Cressida. No, even better, call me mom!" Cressida spoke up, and Ophelia grinned. "Let's go inside now." Cressida drew Ophelia into the manor. Kieran and the twins followed, but Arderás remained behind.
"They already love her more than me." Onyx groaned and he chuckled.
"Si schéngt méi léif wéi Dir." He said and Onyx smacked Arderás on the head. (She seems more lovable than you.)
"Dir wësst, ech sinn den Alpha hei ronderëm. Et ass schlecht fir mäi Ruff, wann Dir mech esou schmaacht!" (You know, I'm the Alpha around here. It's bad for my reputation when you smack me like that!)
"Du bass nach mäi jéngere Brudder! Ech si fräi dech ze schloen wéi ech wëll." Onyx exclaimed, holding him by the neck and twirling his hair. (You are still my younger brother! I'm free to smack you however I want.)
"Stop it brother!" Onyx laughed as Arderás hollered as he broke free from Onyx's grip. Arderás huffed and ran his fingers through his hair, trying to pull it back.
"I'm glad you're back, brother." Onyx smiled as he said this. "It's the same here." They shared a hug.
"And also, congratulations. She seems to be a wonderful female." Arderás said as they pulled back and Onyx chuckled.
"Believe me, she is." Onyx smacked him on the back and they walked inside, laughing and talking.
Ophelia walked inside and her eyes widened when they fell on one particular person walking out of the massive kitchen area.
"Dad!" Mason looked up as she exclaimed. When he saw his daughter, a wide smile spread across his face. She didn't waste any time as she dashed towards his father, who immediately embraced her in a warm bone-crushing hug.
"What are you doing here?" She inquired as they drew back.
"My dear friend here informed me that Onyx was bringing you home and asked if I wanted to join the family dinner. So, here I am!" Mason laughed, and Gerbert smiled at her as he approached from behind.
Later that evening, they sat at the manor's massive dining room table for dinner. Despite the size of the house, there was a sense of cosiness that made it feel like home. Except for the family members, there was no server or anyone else. Ophelia's gaze darted around the table, forming a slight frown on her brows. Onyx became aware of this and gently placed his hand on her thigh. When Ophelia looked up at him, he inquired.
"What happed love?"
"I was just wondering where your sister is." He sighed as she spoke.
"She is on her way back from Spain." He informed her, and she nodded.
"She wanted to be the first to greet you, but her flight was delayed due to inclement weather." He informed and Ophelia smiled. "I comprehend." He smiled down at her as she muttered. They served the food and talked amongst themselves. Onyx's hand was resting on her upper thigh throughout dinner. His fingers drew small circles on her bare skin through the slit in her dress, occasionally squishing the delicate skin. His touch turned to a small flame, and she could feel the need rising in her abdomen and pooling her in between her legs. Even the most innocent of his touches was setting her body on fire, and she wasn't complaining. When the dinner was over, Onyx stood up and offered his hand to her.
"Shal, we go, love?" He inquired, and she could sense that all eyes were on them. When she looked up, they all looked away, mingling in conversation amongst them. Onyx waited patiently for her, and when she took his hand, he drew her up and led her out of the dining room. Gerbert turned to face Mason after staring at their departing silhouette.
"It appears that we are about to become grandparents!" Cressida applauded as he exclaimed. "This is so exciting!"
"As exciting as this is, I hate the thought of the process of becoming a grandparent!" Mason sighed, and they all laughed.
Onyx drew her close behind him, their hands interlocked. He led her up a flight of stairs to the top floor. To his room. He yanked the door open and pulled her inside before slamming it shut and pushing her against the wood. Her heart thumped against her ribcage as adrenaline, excitement, and nervousness gathered in the pit of her stomach. Onyx leaned against her shoulder, his lips trailing down the curve of her neck.
"I can smell your arousal, love." The deep husky undertone on his voice with seduction made her shudder in delight as the wetness between her legs grew.
She gulped thickly as he drew back and looked down at her. Her eyes ran down his toned clothed body. The desire to trace every dip and curve of his form gripped her being. Swallowing, she ran her hand over his shoulder blades, delighting in the grooves of his muscles tensing under her touch. He stood there silently, his sharp brown eyes taking in every movement she made. He was alert but not tense. Then she dragged her hands down his chest, ever so slowly, before settling in the centre. "Can you?" she asked, looking up at him. He nodded his head ever so slightly when she asked. She hummed never breaking eye contact and her fingers found the first stud of his shirt and unbuttoned it.
