His Truth – Part l
"I want you to decide whether you want to stay with me or reject me," Onyx stated with sternness and Ophelia stared up at him with desperate eyes.
"Of course, I want to be with you! I won't reject you!" He took her hands in his and she exclaimed.
"I want you to make your decision after you listen to what I have to say. I want you to think about everything and make a thoughtful decision. Do you get what I'm saying?" Onyx asked with soft eyes and she nodded her head.
"I have practised this conversation quite a lot of times since that night but even after that it is hard." Onyx exhaled after taking a few deep breaths. "I should start with my family." He said and Ophelia nodded her head.
"My grandmother was the first female alpha of the packs in our region. An alpha is someone who serves to protect their pack like a Guardian. They are the single leader of a pack. Their wolf is the strongest, most powerful and the most lethal. Typically, the Alpha's firstborn male is the pack's next Alpha. My Great-grandfather, on the other hand, did not have a son; he only had a daughter. Everyone assumed that my grandmother's mate would succeed the Alpha, and that was the plan. When she finally found her mate after years of searching, it was not what she had expected. My grandfather was a human. But that didn’t stop her from accepting him and bringing him home. The elders had opposed and had tried to get her to reject my grandfather. At that time, an Alpha born having a human mate, a werewolf having mate all together was something frowned upon. My grandmother was determined to be with him, and she declared that she did not need to be a male to succeed her father and that she was more than capable of fulfilling the role of an Alpha. She succeeded her father and became our region's first female Alpha. They only had one son, my father, who rose to become the Alpha. He found my mother and they had me. And my father, I guess, couldn't keep his hands to himself and had my five siblings."
"So, after your father, you'll be the Alpha?" When Ophelia inquired, he shook his head.
"No,"
"Why? Aren't you the first born?" Ophelia inquired, perplexed.
"Yes, I am. Allow me to finish, and you will have your answer." Onyx spoke up, and Ophelia nodded.
"Since childhood, I was a troublesome kid. They had a hard time keeping me under control, and I was always one step ahead of the other kids my age. And they assumed it was because I was an Alpha born and the Alpha's heir. Kieran was born when I was three, and Arderás was born when I was five. I was seven years old when my twin brothers Lovis and Draven were born. Everything was going swimmingly until my tenth birthday. After two days of my birthday, I felt him stir awake. And since things had been chaotic for me and my family. A wolf being born at the age of ten was unheard of. I was constantly in pain as the beast tried to take control of me. Which it did a couple of times, and I ended up hurting people as a result. So, my parents pursued a slew of healers, witches, and warlocks until they discovered a potion that would weaken the beast until I was eighteen or mature enough to handle it. But, when I was twelve, it broke through the barrier and potions and completely transformed me. It was also extremely unusual for a werewolf to shift at the age of twelve. After that, any strong emotion would push him to come forward and shift forcefully. And when my little sister, our princess Trista was born, I wanted to do anything to protect her. Through some ritual, they locked the beast so that it couldn't forcefully shift and for a few years everything went very smoothly. Until the ritual failed and I was on the verge of wounding little Trista. Father had barely been able to stop me and had been injured in the process. I locked myself in a cell for months and refused to come out. I despised myself and the monster that I am. After months of isolation, my parents finally brought a Demon from somewhere, and she cursed me and sealed the beast. The curse forbade me from shifting unless it was a full moon. Full moons would weaken the seal, allowing the beast to escape. As a result, I made the decision to live with my grandfather. He was a wonderful man, Ophelia. I wish you had had the opportunity to meet him." He sighed, and Ophelia gave him a sad smile.
"By then, my grandmother had died, and he was leaving alone in Berlin for a few years. His house was far from the city, and it was a pleasant place for me to grow up. He looked over his family's business, which was and still is thriving. He prepared me to take over his position by training me and attempting to erase any fear I had. Which he did, except for one. I was terrified of both the full moon and the beast. But as the years passed, I felt its presence fade slowly until I barely ever felt him. That pleased me, and my life gradually returned to normalcy. My grandfather's house serves as our family's primary residence. Everyone had insisted that I took over as the Alpha but what kind of an Alpha would I had been who doesn't even have any control over his beast!" He chuckled and went on.
"Kieran also refused since he didn't want to be bound by the Alpha's position, but Arderás was a different story. He willingly accepted the title and role of the Alpha and no one dared object. He was born to be an Alpha, and he is leading the pack to prosperity. I never imagined I'd come across you. And when I saw you, my attraction to you and your scent drove me insane. I made so many mistakes until I had you in my arms and we were playing that silly game. The best days of my life were the ones we went on dates and I saw you smile. The best nights were those when I slept with you in my arms. I felt like someone important to you that you could trust when you revealed the demons of your past. And all I wanted in the world was to see you smile and protect you. But everything changed the day I came to surprise you. It was a full-moon and I had stopped regarding the matter for years by then. But when I had you in my arms, your scent and scorching touches drove him crazy and the seal broke. He came out and he tried to mark you. But when you fell to the ground, unconscious from the excessive bleeding, he hesitated for just a bit and I had just enough strength to flee. Away from you." His eyes were filled with remorse, and he bowed his head.
