His Truth – Part ll
"He wanted nothing more than to have you, and I couldn't let him have you. I couldn't allow him to hurt you again. So, I locked myself up. They summoned the Demon once more and temporarily sealed the beast. And all the while, I tried to push you away. But like the demon had said, you pull him out. The bond we share pulls him out and you saw how I had shifted that night for the first time in almost twelve years." Onyx sighed and raised his head. He took her hands in his.
"You would always pull him out, you are his other half too, but he is a danger to you, Ophelia. Every time I'm with you and any strong feeling I have would pull him out. Every bit of rage, joy, sorrow, and love will pull him out. He would want to have you and I wouldn't be able to stop him. Ophelia, I need you to make a decision. I want you to decide whether you would stay with me even after knowing your life might be in danger for the rest of your life. Ophelia, you have the option of walking out and being free. Even if there was no danger, I don't want you to be tied to me or anyone else because of a Goddess-created bond. I want you to have the freedom to decide who you want to be with. We were taught about our Moon Goddess gifts since we were children. We were ecstatic to find our other halves, and we loved our other halves from the beginning, even before we found them. We happily settle with the partner the moon has selected for us. However, this is not the case for you. I don't want to drag you into a relationship that requires a lifetime commitment. I want you to choose Ophelia, and even if you don't choose me, I want you to choose and live your life the way you want. And, please, don't be swayed by your emotions. The bond we share is changing them, and the attraction you have for me has grown stronger.” He smiled as he gently caressed her cheek.
"Please think about everything I've said and make a decision. Think with your head rather than your heart." Onyx drew his hand away from her and pressed his lips against her forehead in an affectionate kiss. He pulled back and stood up.
"I'll see you tomorrow. Take care of yourself." He smiled and walked away.
Sitting on the skyscraper's little balcony stars light up the sky like snowflakes in the night, yet they remain still, like an old picture. Ophelia smiled as the wind blew her hair into a tangled mess. They would be a choreographed snowstorm if she were out there in space, riding the borders of the known cosmos. The stars would sway and dart, and galaxies would tumble and dart. But for the time being, with her hands holding the chilly railing of the opulent balcony, the starlight remained in its familiar pattern. The constellations, who'd seen hundreds and millennia of the same thing, kept an eye on her while she battled to make a decision. Everyone has to make decisions at some point in their lives. Some decisions are little, while others are major and life-changing. She was well aware that any decision she made would have an impact on both her and his lives. He had instructed her to think with her brain, but she wants to listen to her heart. She wants to choose him and knows she will choose him for the rest of her life. But is she willing to accept a beast and put everything in jeopardy? Even if he is tamed for the time being, what will happen when they have their own children and he ends up injuring them? She knows he won't be able to forgive himself if anything like that happens. Their children would be hurt, he would be hurt, and she would be hurt as well. But the chances of him slipping are slim; things like that may never happen, and they might very well live their lives as normal as anyone else. She knew what she was going to do; she knew she was going to pick him. There were no other options for her but to choose him. She adores him, and if it meant having to tame the beast in order to be with him, she would gladly do so. She would gladly give herself up to the beast if that meant she could be with him. And this is the decision she took was combined with logic and grounded in reality. No matter what happens, she is not going to lose him again.
The sunshine creates rainbow diamonds that dance across the wall's canvas. They expand and fade as the Earth rotates, to the quiet applause of eyes. Ophelia eagerly awaits his arrival at the foyer of her apartment. Dressed in a graceful handkerchief print midi dress with a shirred sweetheart neckline, pretty mini puff sleeves, and intricate lace inset trim detailing all over. Fully lined bodice with smocked back. Her long black hair was down in their natural waves as she paced back and forth on the foyer floor. When the doorbell rang, she dashed to open it. Onyx raised her head as she opened the door and drew him inside. She yanked on his collars and pulled him down. She caught him off guard by smacking their lips together. The sweetness of passion was condensed into a single kiss, a million loving thoughts condensed into a single moment. Onyx's hand quickly found its way to her hips, and his lips began to move against her. The emotion of the kiss spoke a volume of passion that surpasses the works of all the great poets combined.
He kissed her repeatedly. He didn't spend any time seizing control, slipping his fingers in her hair and tilting her head. Their lips meld with one another. Her silken hair tickled his skin as she gasped against his mouth. He bit on her bottom lip with his teeth the minute her plump lip parted. His tongue stroked across her lower lip, easing the burn. Her eyes were closed, her lips pressed ferociously against his. Through her touch, he could feel her yearning for him pulsating. The heat she exuded alerted him to her yearning. She was clinging to him like vines. He moved his hands down her thigh and began to pull. She sprang to her feet and wrapped her legs around him. He carried her to the couch and sat down with her on his lap. They drew back, exhaling loud, and harboured.
"I choose you. I will always choose you!" Ophelia let out a breath. He looked her in the eyes with stars in them. "I'll pick you and have you. You are mine, have always been mine, and will always be mine. I will never abandon you, even if it means taming the beast within you!"
