The Dress – Part ll

"Woah!" Ophelia exclaimed, her gaze darting around the venue. People were running around with decorative pieces in their hands, while others were finishing up their decorations and others were busy hanging the chandelier perfectly.
"How did everything come together in a span of two days?" Looking up at Onyx, she inquired. He looked down at her before returning his gaze to the front.
"The basic preparation had been running for three months. All that remained for us to do was bring everything together." He looked down at her with a smile, "And we did that absolutely phenomenal!" She smiled as he finished his sentence.
"So no more stressing! Everything is successfully completed!" She exclaimed, but then frowned as she noticed Onyx shaking his head.
"Is there anything important left?" She inquired, and Onyx nodded as he stood in front of her.
"What?" She inquired, and he placed his hand on her shoulders. "A dress," he said, and Ophelia frowned.
"A gown for you, which you will wear to the gala," Onyx informed her, and realisation was drawn into her. "I don't have a dress!" Onyx nodded as she exclaimed. "But there's nothing to be concerned about. Lilian will take you shopping. I would have taken you, but I still have some work to do." Ophelia shook her head as Onyx sighed. "I understand. It's all right."

Onyx and Ophelia walked out of the venue where Lilian and Glenn waited in front of a car.
"I'll see you later," Onyx said and captured her lips in a kiss that left Ophelia, Lilian and Glenn's stunned.
"When did that happen?" Lilian mumbled slightly, leaning in the direction of Glenn, who shook his head and mumbled, "No idea!"

After trying on tonnes of gowns with different designs, shapes, fabrics and colours, she had finally chosen a gown and now was on her way out of the fancy clothing showroom.
"I'm exhausted!" Lilian sighed as Ophelia groaned. "At least you found the perfect gown."
"Yeah, but I don't feel like just finding a gown was worth all the trouble." Ophelia groaned once more, and Glenn groaned as well. "Shopping with you woman is so annoying!"
"Why don't you tell her that! I had chosen the dress the moment we walked into the store, but she made me try on all of them!" Ophelia exclaimed, turning her head back and pointing at Lilian.
"Well, I didn't think it was a good fit!" Lilian pouted in an attempt to make her point, but Ophelia narrowed her eyes. "That doesn't-"
Ophelia gasped as she slammed into a wall.
"I'm so sorry!" When Ophelia turned around, she saw the man picking up his phone from the floor and apologised.
"It's perfectly fine." He said as he raised his head and looked at Ophelia with a kind smile. At first glance, he appeared far too familiar. Ophelia frowned and was about to ask a question when Lilian bellowed from behind her.
"Jonge Meeschter!" When she saw the man smile at Lilian and Glenn, Ophelia frowned. (Young Master!)
"Et ass eng ganz laang Zäit! Wéi geet et dir!" Lilian and Glenn both smiled as the man exclaimed in Luxembourgish. They got into a conversation that Ophelia didn't understand a word of. When Lilian said something, the man turned around to face her and extended his hand with a bright smile. (It's been a very long time! How are you guys!)
"Ms Jade, it's a pleasure to meet you. My name is Kieran. Kieran Reighs" Ophelia's eyes widened as she took his hand in hers.
"Reighs? Are you-?" Kieran smiled as she asked.
"I'm Onyx's younger brother." Ophelia frowned as he informed her.
"Perhaps that's why you seemed so familiar! You guys look so much alike!:
Kieran, on closer inspection, resembled a younger version of Gerbert, except Kieran had light hazel eyes.
"I look nothing like Onyx!" Kieran exclaimed and Ophelia chuckled as Kieran thought she had compared his resemblance with Onyx.
"I meant you and your father." Kieran nodded as she clarified.
"But I had no idea Onyx had a brother." She wondered aloud as she drew her hand away.
"A brother? He has four brothers! He didn't tell you, did he?" Ophelia shook her head as Kieran exclaimed.
"What a jerk!" Ophelia smiled as Kieran grumbled with a scowl.
"He can be a huge jerk at times." Kieran nodded as she spoke.
"I agree with you, but how did a jerk like him end up with such a beautiful girl like you?" Ophelia chuckled as Kieran winked.
"You'll have to ask your father about that." Kieran's mouth opened slightly as she shrugged.
"Wait a minute, you're his braut?" He mused, and Ophelia raised an eyebrow. (Bride)
"Braut?"
"I mean, you're the one father chose for him?"
"Yeah, he kind of did." Kieran huffed as Ophelia said sheepishly.
"What a lucky bascht!"
Kieran's phone rang in his pocket, and he took it out. He looked up at Ophelia after seeing the caller ID. "It's been a pleasure to meet you, léif Schwëster. But I have to go now. I hope to see you at the gala." He said with a beaming smile, and Ophelia returned his smile.
"See you soon Kieran."
Kieran waved a quick goodbye to Lilian and Glenn as he dashed in the opposite direction, pressing his phone against his ear. Ophelia cast a backward glance at his retreating back and turned around, before leaving with Lilian and Glenn on her toe. She smiled to herself as she pictured herself in the gown she had chosen. She hoped it would leave Onyx astounded.
Ophelia exited the elevator and made her way to their hotel suite door. She walked inside after finding the door open. Onyx was sitting on the couch, typing away on his laptop. As she sat down beside him, he looked up and smiled.
"Did you find your dress?" He inquired, and she nodded. Onyx looked around and she frowned.
"Are you looking for something?" She inquired.
"Yes, where is the dress?"
"In the store. I left it for alterations." Onyx nodded as Ophelia informed him. "What colour did you pick?" He inquired, and she smirked.
"Well, you'll get to see tomorrow!" Onyx narrowed his eyes at her but sighed as he gave up.
"Fine! But there's something I'd like to tell you." She frowned as he spoke. "What?"
"I'm going to our family residence and I'll be spending the night there." He said with a sad smile, and Ophelia chuckled. "I was hoping you'd tell me something more important."
"It is important! Will you be okay here by myself?" He expressed his concern, and she smiled reassuringly. "Yes, I'll be fine."
Onyx smiled and kissed her lips. "I'll pick you up tomorrow evening." He drew back, and she smiled.
"I'll be waiting."
Onyx walked out of the hotel and turned around one more time before getting into his car. The longing he felt as he left was overwhelming. He tried to console himself by reminding himself that it was only night. But one night without her felt like an eternity. He drove home, anticipating and longing to see her again.
