Blinding Lights – Part ll
"You are not welcome here, Owen! Get out!" Ophelia hissed as she picked up her handbag.
"Ophelia let's talk things out please!" Owen pleaded in a desperate tone, and Ophelia refrained from rolling her eyes. "There is nothing left to talk about. Leave!" Ophelia curtly said as she walked closer to the elevator. Owen stood in her way, obstructing her route, and her jaw clenched with frustration. "Move Owen!" Owen begged again as she snarled through gritted teeth. "Ophelia, how can you forget those three years? We had so much fun, those years were magical! You're my soulmate, Ophelia! I admit I made a mistake; I'm not sure what got into me, but I apologize! Please don't leave me!"
"Don't whine! Those years are in the past and it was good while it lasted but what you did is unforgivable! I need you to leave before I call security!" As she walked past him toward the elevator, Ophelia growled. She was stopped when Owen grabbed her hand. "Let go of my hand Owen!" Ophelia growled turned her head towards Owen. "No, not until you speak to me properly. Not until you give me the opportunity to explain myself." Ophelia's rage only grew as Owen shook his head.
"Don't behave like a little child! I believe I've made it clear that I don't want anything to do with you. I want you out of this building and my life." Ophelia winced slightly when he tightened his grip on her wrist.
"You can't just walk out like that! I'm not going to let you! I love you!" Ophelia winced as Owen exclaimed.
"Owen, let go of my hand! Before I-" Ophelia's eyes widened as Owen's grip on her hand was suddenly ripped away, and Owen fell to the tiled floor with a loud thud, groaning in pain.
"Hands off, you douche!" She turned her head to her left when she heard Onyx's seething voice.
"Onyx!" Ophelia exclaimed as she saw Onyx's outraged face. He was drilling holes in Owen's head as he lay on the tiled floor clutching his face.
"You bastard!" Owen groaned in pain as he got to his feet and spat blood-filled saliva on the floor. His fist was balled in a fist, and Ophelia sternly warned him not to move.
"Owen!"
"Don't even think about it!" Ophelia warned again, but Owen was focused on Onyx, enraged and ready to retaliate for the punch. He pounced on Onyx but was knocked back on the floor when Ophelia materialized in front of him and punched him in the face.
"You punched me in the face for the bastard that just punched me!" Owen roared, his voice filled with disapproval, disappointment, and rage.
"And I'll do it again!" Ophelia roared, straightening up.
"You f*ucking punched your boyfriend in the face for a f*ucking nobody!" Owen screamed as if he couldn't wrap his head around the reality that Ophelia had just punched him in the face for someone else.
"Ex-boyfriend! And I'll gladly bust your balls open if you ever try again to punch my fiancé!" Owen's eyes widened in surprise as a smirk appeared on Onyx's lips. Onyx looked at Ophelia with amused eyes and strolled beside her, his arms slithering around her waist.
"Do you want to go out to lunch, love?" He inquired, tenderly pulling Ophelia into his embrace.
"Yes!" Ophelia responded with a sweet smile, looking up at him. Onyx spun around, his arm around Ophelia's waist, and saw two security guards walking out of the elevator toward Owen. "And while we enjoy lunch, you have a good time in the police station for assaulting a woman and attempting to assault a foreign citizen. Have a good time!" Onyx waved his hand and slipped it inside his pocket.
"You f*ucking w*hore!" Owen yelled, and Onyx's head shot back at him. Onyx's eyes darkened as he trembled with wrath. "Say that again! I dare you!" His chest shuddered with wrath as he growled. Not a single word came out of Owen's mouth as he started trembling in fear starting into Onyx's haunting eyes. Ophelia was shocked beyond words at Onyx's reaction and all she could do was let Onyx drag her to the elevator. Ophelia didn't realize she was staring at Onyx until he looked down at her and she cleared her throat. She took a step away from his arm, and his grip on her waist loosened.
"What brings you here? Your father is out inspecting a construction project." Ophelia inquired, attempting to break the silence.
"I know. I wanted to see you." Onyx stated nonchalantly, and Ophelia raised an eyebrow at him. "Why did you want to see me?" Onyx stared down at her when she inquired.
"Why? Can't I just visit to see my fiancée?" Ophelia coughed and turned away as he asked, the corner of his mouth curling up slightly. "I'm not your fiancée."
"I never said you were. Or do you want to be my fiancée? You did, after all, state out loud that you'd bust the guy's balls if he tried to harm your fiancé." Ophelia's face flushed slightly as he mused, tapping his chin."It was only to provoke him." She said and Onyx hummed with a ghost smile on his face.
Ophelia kept stealing glances of the man standing beside her who had his hands inside his pocket. He'd catch her glancing at him now and then, and she'd look away, her cheeks flushed. A smile would creep onto his face and he could still occasionally feel her eyes on him. The elevator came to a stop on the bottom floor, and he gestured for Ophelia to exit first, and as she walked out, Onyx followed her. He opened the car door for her, and she entered with trepidation. Onyx took the wheel, and the two began driving away from the office building. When he noticed Ophelia rigid in her seat, he asked, looking back toward the road.
"Why is the Captain so nervous?" Ophelia looked at him and screamed excitedly, throwing her hands in the air.
"Because something awful happens every time you drive me somewhere." He frowned at her, and she turned her body towards him.
"The first time you crashed the car, the second time I caught my boyfriend of three years cheating on me with some bimbo, and the third time today you came to pick me up, you punched Owen, and I punched him as well, and now he's on his way to the police station with a broken nose and swollen face!" Onyx chuckled as she exclaimed.
"See, you haven't had a single dull day in your life since you met me."
"That's not funny, Onyx! Just get us to wherever you're taking me safely." Onyx chuckled as she huffed, resting back in her plush car seat. "Jo, Madame!" He said it dramatically with a bow of his head, and she narrowed her eyes at him as she looked back to the road. (Yes, Madam!)
"Where are we going, though?" She asked and Onyx shrugged,
"To have lunch,"
"I know that but where?"
"I don't know, let's see where this lonely concrete path takes us," Onyx said as if he were a poet, and Ophelia shook her head.
Onyx soon pulled over in front of a fancy restaurant, and he got out of the car to open the door for Ophelia. He pulled the door open and with a bow of his head he dramatically said offering his hand, "We are here Madam Ophelia!"
Ophelia chuckled as she took his hand and got out of the car. Her eyes were suddenly dazzled by the blinding flashes of cameras. She stepped out, and Onyx immediately drew her into his embrace, shielding her from the flushing cameras and yelling paparazzi.
