Chapter 27 - Trust

*****Maddison's POV*****

"Dad... it's me... I've... I've missed you so much... I just want to come home!" I break down completely just from the sound of my fathers voice- yelling or not- it was still him.

My body falls to the floor and I bring my knees to my chest for comfort. Seth stands by the door, listening carefully incase anyone was to come down here whilst I made the call.

We decided that the safest place to make the call was my bathroom. It was the furthest away from the cell door and it meant it was the best chance we had at nobody hearing.

"Maddison Angel! Where are you? Where have you been all this time? Tell me where you are and I'll come and get you, your mother and I have missed you so much!" I could hear the raspiness in his voice.

I can just picture him, standing in his office trying so hard to keep it together incase anyone sees him so weak... my father was a man that would never cry- not for anyone or anything.

He was the rock for every wolf across the country. He was the man that was made of stone. He was the man who feared nothing...

It broke my heart hearing him sound so destroyed.

"I don't know exactly where I am Dad. I'm so sorry... I'm sorry that I didn't call you sooner but I was just so scared." I sob to him down the phone, unsure of how long the small cheap phone would allow me to stay on the call for.

"Why are you scared? Has someone else been hurting you? Ive found the man that took you away from us angel, I have him here, I just need to know where you are and then you'll be safe. I promise I'll never let anything bad happen to you ever again just hang in there!" He states determinedly down the phone.

If only it were that easy.

"Coda! No please don't kill him, please! He's not what you think... Coda is my mate Dad he's not like the other rogues I swear." By this point I can barely catch my breath due to how hard I was crying.

My father was silent for a few moments as I could hear light chatter in the background...

".....You've been brain washed into believing that he is your mate sweet heart. Trust me, it happened to your mother before she met me. Do you remember the story of what happened to your mother?" He tried to convince me as best he could.

What happened to my mother was tragic. Really tragic. But Coda is my mate. I know for a fact that he's my mate.

"No Dad it's true he really is my mate! Please believe me. I felt the connection! Coda has had such a bad life but please just let him tell you his story and then he can help you find me. You need to trust him or else... or else I might never be able to see you again... I'll be trapped here forever." Seth moves towards me now, trying his best to comfort me in my emotional state.

"You'll be trapped where Maddison?!" His voice rises slightly, not liking the thought of never finding or seeing me again.

"It's... it's called the land of the rogues Dad." I sob out, before the phone beeps twice to let me know that the call has ended...

"No! This can't be happening! I never even got the chance to talk to my Mom Seth! What if my Dad still thinks that Coda isn't really my mate and ends up killing him! Oh God Seth what if we end up trapped here forever! What if that witch does manage to take over! Think of how many young kids she will abuse in the future! This can't happen, it just can't!" I sob and sob whilst Seth hugs me tight with tears in his eyes also.

"I know this whole thing is hard but you need to keep your voice down Maddison. Shhh it's okay please just calm down..." He try's his best to soothe me as I take deep inhales of air.

I never even got to hear my Moms voice... or my brother Karson's or even Adams for that matter. I never even got to talk to Coda... I don't even know what current state he's in.

I pray to the moon Goddess that he's ok and that my parents learn to trust him or this will all get messy...

*****Alpha Kane's POV*****

"Fucking stupid piece of fucking shit for a phone!" I roar, slamming it back down onto the office table in a rage.

I tried calling the number back but of course it had to be a damn private number! I knew she had run out of credit and I was angry at the fact that we still didn't even know where to find her...

My chest rises and falls harshly as I glance around the room taking in the many people that were now crowded around my office.

Adam was over by the sofa trying his best to comfort a sobbing Leoni. Karson was now by my side with his mouth hung open in horror to what had just happened. There was seven guards in the room all surrounding Coda- holding him firmly in place.

I study Coda carefully, starting with his eyes which seemed to now be fixed on the photo of Maddison which sat on my desk.

His eyes were watering and he had to keep blinking to fight back the tears.

His mouth was open, as if unable to comprehend the whole situation.

His posture was broken, slouched and defeated as if he was ready for giving up.

"Dad... he has to be her mate... look at him." I hear Karson's voice beside me, him too evidently studying Coda who stood before us.

It seemed he was just as broken without Maddison as the rest of us...

"Guards... you are dismissed. Coda... take another seat. I believe this conversation isn't over yet." I say as calmly as possible, watching as Coda guides his attention to me in shock, still trying to blink away the tears that were threatening to spill.

The guards release him immediately before he shakily walks towards his original seat and lowers himself into it cautiously.

I walk across the room to where Adam and Leoni were seated, Leoni still in a sobbing state as Adam comforted her.

I crouch in front of her, peeling her hands away from her face to reveal how truly hurt and upset she was.

It broke my heart.

"Listen beautiful... I am so so sorry that you didn't get the chance to talk to her... but I've made a decision which I believe will get her back to us as soon as possible... I am going to trust what she told me on the phone and I'm going to trust you as well on the fact that the young man currently sitting over at my desk... is in fact our daughters real mate... and if this is true, then he will want nothing more than to help us bring her home so I guess it seems we are actually all on the same side after all..."

But then if we aren't up against Coda now... then who else are we actually fighting against to get Maddison back?

I look over to Coda, a faint yet thankful smile now on his face as he nods over to me respectfully.

Don't get me wrong... I'm still not his biggest fan... and if he does turn out to be my daughters real mate then we will be having a long discussion in the future before things get more serious...

The kid did kidnap my baby after all which believe me I won't take fucking lightly. But my main goal right now is to find her.

"Go with Adam and get cleaned up and into bed and just try your best to relax and watch a movie or something angel... leave the rest to me, we will get her back this time once and for all." I kiss her head, as she seems to now have calmed down slightly.

Adam passes her a tissue as she blows her nose before standing to leave with him.

"Karson, phone down to Alpha Preston's room and tell him to come up here. We have a lot to discuss." I state, watching Karson pick up the phone to immediately call down to his room.

Alpha Preston had wished to stay with us to help out as much as possible with the case and to ensure that the fake school teacher witch was gone for good.

But a sickening feeling in the pit of my stomach was telling me she wasn't gone just yet...
