Chapter 48 - Normal

*****Maddison's POV*****

"I can't believe it's your party already... what if nobody likes me? What if they pick on me for being weaker than them... what if I don't make any friends here..." Seth paces my room back and forth in a frenzy as I fix up the last strap on my heel.

Bless his innocent little soul... he's been worried for hours about meeting the rest of the pack.

"Seth you'll do great! I'll introduce you to some amazing people and I know for sure that you'll get along with them!" I smile, as he plops down onto my bed with a sigh.

"I'm sorry for making this about me... it's your party and you must be more nervous than anyone... after all, you've not seen all of these people in over a year... but I'm here for you too Mads if you need anything..." He smiles, taking my hand gently and giving it a quick squeeze.

I pray that he meets some new friends tonight... people he can hang around with whenever I'm busy or hanging out with Coda... he deserves the extra love and support... especially after losing his brother...

"Seth... I know this might be a bad time to ask and all... but what happened to the rest of your family? Was Warren the only one you had?" I watch as he tenses.

"They were killed in a rogue attack... Warren and I were the only kids left until Sylvia found us... Warren always told me that we were the good guys... but turns out we weren't." He smiles sadly as he stares down at the floor.

My heart just broke...

"No Seth... Warren was a bad guy... You are the most sweetest, most caring soul I've ever met... you have a new family now that love you very much and my parents already see you as their son... if it weren't for you Seth... I would have died out there." I pull him in for a tight hug as he hugs me back.

"Thanks Maddison... I feel so much safer here now and the doctors are going to start training me on Monday!" He chimes, as I clap with excitement.

"You'll do great Seth! I'm so happy for you!" I smile, as he smiles back warmly.

This kid deserves the world...

"C'mon... we're going to miss your birthday party since it did officially start over an hour ago now..." Seth laughs as I take his arm to head out.

Everyone was currently out in the back yard waiting for us. I guess I just got carried away with applying my makeup and doing my hair... it's been a while.

I truly felt like the old me was back. The girly girl who loved to socialise and to dress up.

"Ready?" Seth asks as we reach the back doors leading outside.

"As ready as ever..." I take a deep breath and smile, as he pushes open the doors to reveal the hundreds of people stood across our huge back yard.

Wow... the decorations were beautiful! It was like a real life fairytale party! Adam has for sure outdone himself here...

I was finally home and I was grateful for the life I had...

******Coda's POV******

Everyone was suddenly silenced by Kane outside just moments before as we watched Seth push open the doors to reveal my princess...

Let's just say that it took me a few moments to catch my breath after seeing her step out...

Her smile alone could kill it was so beautiful.

She wore a pink and white lace dress that stopped just above her knees with white heels that laced up her legs slightly.

I've never seen her so dressed up and so happy. She looked comfortable as if this was what she was used to... she was a true princess... and I must be the luckiest man alive...

I watch as the crowds cheer for her. Cheers of wishing her a happy birthday and mostly cheers to welcome her home as their princess...

She smiled gratefully at everyone, kissing and hugging both her mother and father before her eyes soon found my own.

I began walking to her, the crowd silencing slightly as they watched me approach their princess in thoughts of who I was...

Most were probably anxious incase the King ripped off my head for getting too close to his daughter...

"Everyone... whilst my daughter was away... we are very happy to announce that she did in fact find her true mate... Coda... we would like to welcome him to our family and pack with open arms...." I hear Kane call out to the crowd, before many more cheers were soon heard.

I nod over to Kane thankfully as he nods back offering me a small smile which I gladly return.

This had to be a dream...

"You look absolutely stunning..." I whisper to her once I reach her, pulling her in for a tight hug as I kiss just below her ear.

"As do you Coda." She whispers back, sending a chill down my spine.

My mate... my beautiful mate...

This was my happiness...

"Let's party!" We suddenly hear Adam yell out through the mic, before the DJ comes to life and the music starts thumping.

I watch as Maddison chuckles, taking my hand in her right whilst also taking Seth's hand in her left.

She leads us down the steps and into the crowds of people, many rushing over to hug her.

Seth and I were being introduced to so many new people... most of which I won't remember their names... and I couldn't help but feel slightly guilty for taking her away from this life...

"Seth... this here is Talia, Max, Nico, Simon and Julia... they are all 15 and 16... same as you." Maddison introduces Seth to a small group of teenagers who all fist bump and hug him welcoming him to the pack.

"Take care of him for me..." I watch as Maddison leans into the taller looking boy- Simon I think-whispering to him as he nods and smiles in understanding before we walk away leaving them together.

"I'm guessing Simon is the leader of the group then?" I laugh, as Maddison grins at me.

"Kinda yeah... my Dad thinks he's going to be one of the best pack warriors when he's older... the kid has a heart of gold though but he can for sure fight like hell if anyone messes with him or his friends." She smiles, as I nod knowingly.

Seth should be fine with them then.

"I'm sorry for taking you away from all of this..." I lean down to whisper, hearing her sigh.

"Coda... I'm happy you did... it's made me so much more grateful for everything that I have... I'm so grateful for my family, my friends, my pack and even for you. I love you." She leans up to kiss my lips, causing tingles to dance all over my body.

She's one in a million...

"Come on party pooper... let's dance!" She yells, as we walk onto the large dance floor to join the many others who were enjoying the party- including Karson and Farah who were dancing rather closely...

"I've never been to a party before..." I admit to her as she begins to dance without a care in the world.

"Here..." She wraps my hands around her waist before placing her own around my neck.

"Just move around to the music..." She tells me, as I begin to move to the upbeat track.

This was kinda fun...

"See you're pretty good..." She giggles as we dance for what seems like hours...

This night is undoubtedly one of the best nights of my life... I felt normal... I felt welcome... I felt like I belonged.
