Chapter 31 - Four Days

"Are you sure that your plan will work?" The King questions me warily.

"It's our best shot without you having to give up your title..." I reply, as everyone seems to nod in approval.

"So it's settled then... and then after the four days... we attack?" He confirms, as everyone nods in agreement on the plan.

"Do you know how wide the territory is exactly? So that I can have my army cover every inch of the border incase any rogues step out of the seal and into our grasp?" He then asks.

"Could I have a map of the area if possible? I'll be able to work out where their border is roughly from that..." I ask, as the Beta- whose name I've gathered is David- hands me a black marker pen.

One of the trackers immediately begins to search through a large folder for a brief minute, before retrieving a few maps.

He scans over the sheets, looking for the correct one, before he passes it down to me to see.

I scan the map, following the river as I know the border is only past that point.

The river... our river...

I trace the pen carefully around where I believe the seal finishes before sliding the map across the table before it is passed to the King for inspection.

"It's not exactly as small as I had imagined... how many rogues could we potentially be dealing with?" He asks, as I think logically about the plan.

"Silvia won't be expecting an attack like this... she will be expecting to have you begging for her to release your daughter... in which I'm sure she will be wanting something in return... your blood probably since you are the strongest wolf there is. She will currently believe that she has the complete upper hand and that you wouldn't be stupid enough to pose an attack against her since she has the control to potentially harm your daughter..." I explain confidently, knowing how her mind works.

"So what happens if she does harm my daughter when she sees that I do actually wish to attack her?!" His voice rises slightly, not liking the risk that we could be taking with Maddison.

"Well the plan is for me to get in there quickly, execute the plan, have her killed, and free Maddison... in which you can take all of the other rogues hostage and I will be able to tell you which deserve a chance of being in a normal pack and which ones are simply just vile rogues..." I state as everyone seems to nod.

I now seem to have taken most control of this operation which was extremely nerve racking... if it fails then I'll never forgive myself... but I can't seem to ignore my Alpha instincts right now... this just oddly feels right.

"What makes you think that I can trust you to make such decisions... for all we know you could keep the evil rogues alive and kill off the innocents... after all you are a rogue yourself." The King interrogates me further.

"I only chose to become a rogue because Silvia had convinced me that if I did then I would be able to find my mother... it has nothing to do with me wanting to kill innocent people and commit crimes... I was tricked at a young age but please allow for me to prove to you sir that your daughter is my world and that I want nothing more than a normal life. I am not a rogue at heart." I tell him, looking directly into his eyes for him to see the truth behind my words.

He stares at me quietly, the tension in the air as thick as ever since we had started this very long meeting...

Everyone glances around the table unsure of what to say, do or even think at this point.

"One chance... and if I so much as even suspect that you are going against us... you will be dead... Maddison's mate or not." He tells me in a calm, ice like voice that would send most people running.

This King sure did live up to his powerful reputation... but he needs to know that we are on the same side.

"Thank you." I offer him a genuine nod as he nods in return.

"We start stage one tonight... we will head over to the pack doctors unit and have it done there and then we will repeat this for four days before the attack..." The King uses his Alpha tone as he begins to speak causing everyone to perk up slightly.

"I do not wish for anyone else to know of our plan or tactics except for everyone in this room and our army...I hope that is very clear to you all..." He then drawls out, making sure that everyone fully understands how important this whole thing is.

"Coda... how many guards shall I prepare to bring incase any of her rogues do decide to attack? How many are we dealing with roughly?" He shoots the question to me, as I think.

"Most of them are innocent and trapped there against their will but as for the ones who are truly vile... I'd say that there's maybe about sixty of them at most..." I confirm, trying to think back to how many evil bastards there was back there.

I basically didn't like any of them except for Warren and Seth but I knew that some of the guys only kept to themselves to try and stay out of trouble... as for the ones who raped the girls in the cells... I'll be sure to put them on the King's chopping block.

"It's settled then... David have two hundred of our best guards surrounding every inch of their border four days from now." He demands, as David nods approvingly.

I felt slightly more confident with the back up of the King and his army... I just pray that everything goes to plan...

I miss her.
