Chapter 38 - The Border

*****Coda's POV*****

Here we all were. Finally standing inches away from hell. Surrounding every inch of the border to this dreadful land.

None of them could see inside... it just looked like a clearing to them... but I could see.

"Farah will lead me to them...I'll head there first and try get her to the border and as soon as Silvia's dead her and Seth can cross over to safety and we will all be free." I explain, my heart thundering in my chest rapidly.

"I want everyone out here on high alert!" The Alpha King roars as everyone nods.

"Good luck Coda... just bring me back my daughter please." The King turns to me, the hint of desperation clear in his voice causing me to nod in understanding as I move to cross over into the land.

"Wait!" I turn on my heels to see Karson suddenly step forward.

"I, Karson Blood, son of Kane and Leoni Blood hear-by turn myself rogue and no longer wish to have any ties with my pack." Karson rushes out in one breath, as his father lunges at him in an attempt to stop him but its too late.

Everyone's jaws drop at his words, a light whisper sprouting out amongst the men about his decision.

"You cannot go in there! Why the fuck would you do that!" His father seethes with rage.

"I need to go in there if you can't! She's my sister Dad and you can always just invite me back to join the pack once this is all over! If you turn rogue then we lose everything but if I do it then nothing is lost..." Karson explains, the King still looking horrified as everyone stands around in total shock still.

"I can see the land now Dad. It's right there in front of me... Trust me I'll be fine." He states determinedly.

"I don't want to lose you and your sister..." His father grits out, as Karson nods sadly.

"You won't... just trust that we are strong enough. We will do better as a team Dad." He states, before jumping over the border line, vanishing from everyone else's eyes before his father can protest further.

I however can still see him as he stands there watching his father who looks slightly broken by his choice.

"I'll get her back to you Alpha I promise!" I nod, before crossing the border followed by Farah.

Now the real shit begins...


******Silvia's POV******

I stop to listen carefully...

I was almost certain that I heard something...

It was faint but it was definitely there...

I must be getting closer! I grin at the thought.

"Come out come out wherever you are..." I sing as I skip through the woods excitedly.

I can't wait to get my hands on them...

*****Coda's POV*****

"Did you hear that?" I stop and ask, as Farah and Karson nod in agreement.

"It came from over here..." Farah says quietly, as we all head in the direction of the snapping branch.

I take a large inhale, hoping to pick up a scent despite the strong smell of dampness and rain that was surrounding us.

There was a scent there... but I couldn't quite make out who or what it was but it was close by...

"Get down!" Karson suddenly states, as we all sharply duck down behind a large bush before moments later I see Warren strolling past.

That big ugly piece of shit that he is!

My blood started to boil but I waited to see if Silvia was close behind him.

He seemed to be searching for something... They must still be searching for Maddison and Seth...

He's literally helping that damn evil bitch find his own brother! How twisted is that!

Well I'm glad that they are still in hiding and that they haven't been hurt yet...

Karson glances over at me as if to question what we should do and it's in that moment that I decide that I'm going to kill him for betraying myself, my mate and most importantly his little brother.

I gesture to Farah and Karson to keep watch and they nod in understanding as I stand up-

"Well... well... well..." I come out of hiding and reveal myself, watching as his face pales completely at the sight of me as he jumps back at my sudden entrance.

"C-Coda... I'm so... happy to see you! I thought you were dead..." He stutters like a scared child as I continue to saunter towards him cockily, as he continues to move back.

"Yeah I must have looked pretty dead when you helped carry me to the Kings border unconscious right? But no Warren... luckily for you I'm still alive and well thanks." I cock my head to the side and smirk at how terrified he looks.

"I... I don't know what you're talking about..." He mumbles, looking around frantically as if searching for that damn witch to come save him.

"Oh but you do... starving my mate was no accident was it Warren? My mate getting attacked in the hallway that night was no accident was it? She told you to let all of that shit happen. She told you to pretend to be the loving and helpful friend that saves the day so that I could trust you. It was all set up just so you could find out information for her... you're a fucking idiot if you think for a split second that she loves you... she's using you... she's used all of us Warren!" I circle him, taunting him as he now breaks into a very evident sweat.

"That's not true... she loves me... she's going to make me the new king... and when she does I'll get rid of you and my brother and your stupid little slut of a mate!" He suddenly snaps, his eyes watering in a fury as he stands there shaking like a leaf.

"Unfortunately for you Warren... you would need to be alive to be able to do all of those things." I stop directly behind him, wasting no time as I snap his neck to the side leaving him for dead.

Farah and Karson come out from hiding, both clapping at my performance amusedly.

"Let's throw him over the border and the warriors can rip him apart." Karson states, lifting his limp body and dragging it over to the edge.

I know it's sick but I really enjoyed killing him. Especially after what he's done and after what he just said about my mate... that bastard deserved to die.

Now to hunt down the witch herself before it's too late...
