Chapter 28 - Talk

*******Maddison's POV*******

"Seth you need to go back up stairs... they might start to notice that you're gone and it won't be good for either of us if they find you down here." I say sadly watching his body tense at the thought.

He must be terrified the poor kid. Im lucky to have it easy down here for the time being so who knows how he must feel having to live up there.

"I don't think I can look Warren in the eye anymore after what he's done... especially since Coda always helped to protect me... and all because he believes that she will make him some stupid King one day." He sighs, with his eyes lowered sadly.

Not all kings are stupid though... my father is the best king ever but that's besides the point.

I don't understand why he pretended to be friends with Coda for all these years though? Obviously the friendship was false or he wouldn't have betrayed him this easily...

"Yeah I know... all we can do at this point is hope that my father and Coda come for us soon..." I sigh, silently praying that my father decides to put his trust in Coda.

"Would your father help save a pathetic rogue like me?" He mutters, almost disgusted with himself which crushes my heart.

"Yes he would and you are not a pathetic rogue! You are a soon to be pack doctor who will help save so many lives in the future... we will both get out of this I promise you that." I state, as he nods absently at my words.

"I wish I could just stay down here away from it all. I don't want her to talk to me again." Seth states, scratching the back of his neck nervously.

Wait what?

"Again? What has she said to you before?" I question, noticing that he seems to begin to shake slightly.

"She uh... she spotted me heading down one of the hallways a couple of days ago and decided to follow me... when she reached me she threw me into the wall... and uh... she pressed her body up against mine. She was towering over me whilst I just stood there shaking like a leaf which only seemed to make her enjoy it more... she said that she wanted to have some fun with me soon." He finishes with a gulp, going back to picking at the ends of his clothes- something I've noticed him do whenever he's worried.

"She was running her hands up my stomach and stuff and I couldn't even look at her since I felt so afraid... she finally walked away from me laughing as if it was all just a joke. I ran to my room and cried for a few hours and didn't come out until last night... that's when I decided to head to Warrens room to tell him what happened... but when I got there..." He shakes his head in disbelief of the whole thing.

"That's when you heard them talking?" I finish, watching him nod and bite his lip.

"I won't stand for this! You don't deserve to be here Seth!" I suddenly stand from the bed, a wave of confidence coursing through me from the sight of this broken boy.

"W-What are you doing?" He stutters nervously as he watches me pull on my sneakers.

"Here put this on... it was Coda's hoodie. You'll need it." I toss Coda's black hoodie at him, one that I tended to wear on the colder nights down here.

"Why? I'm not sure about this...where are we going Maddison? We can't just leave this land you know that." He says sadly as I just continue to wrap up in warm clothes.

"Yeah but this land is a decent size am I right?" I ask him, seeing his eyebrows furrow together as he begins to pull on the hoodie.

"Yeah...I mean it's big enough..." He trails off causing me to smile.

"Big enough for us to hide in." I state with a grin, causing his eyes to widen at my plan.

I'm not going to sit down here and let her harm Seth. Not without a fight.

*******Coda's POV*******

We now sat in the other room. The one In which I'm assuming is used for larger meetings.

I don't know what has gotten into me since I was brought here but this whole set up of being back in a normal pack again made me nervous.

I was going to tell them everything they wanted to know if it meant that they would trust me more and let me help to get Maddison back.

However...

If there was one secret I didn't want them to know, it would be the fact that I'm an Alphas son myself... and since he is the King of all Alphas and wolves then I'm assuming he will know my father well...

Not well enough I doubt...

Nobody ever questioned my father and his cruel ways of treating his pack... either they were just ignorant or he was genuinely just good at putting on a show to the other Alphas.

The last thing I need in my life right now is to see him again.

Once Maddison is safe and this whole thing is over... then I'll pay him a visit...

"If you are lying to me about being my daughters mate then I will take your life in the blink of an eye and parade your body around the country. Do I make myself clear?" The King is the first to break the silence at the table, looking directly at me with a slight glare.

He was such a pleasant man.

"Yes sir." I nod slowly, paying my respects to him despite his threats.

"Good. Now let's backtrack on our steps here... tell me Coda, who is the one that has been drinking your blood and that gave you that bite mark?" The King cuts straight to the point, Alpha Preston, Karson, the pack Beta and two of the packs best trackers all staring at me now.

Tough crowd.

"Do you wish for her name or a description of how she looks or what do you wish to know?" I ask, unsure of how to really answer the question since I doubt that they know who Silvia is?

Though I still don't know why Silvia even brought me here... what game is she playing?

It made me sick to think about what she plans to do with my mate... we need to get to her and fast.

"A name." The King states bluntly.

"Silvia..." I reply, watching as all of their mouths weirdly drop open in slight shock.

All except the Kings.

"So I was right..." He confirms with himself, causing my eyebrows to furrow together.

He knows her?

"You see Coda... Silvia has been giving my fellow friend Preston here some trouble over at his pack this past month... telling the children ridiculous stories..." The King explains, noticing my shocked demeanour.

"About the land of the rogues..." I gulp, knowing all too well what she has been telling those kids.

The King nods at me, as his Beta takes notes of the meeting from beside him.

"Now... my daughter so happened to claim on the phone that she was also trapped in this so called 'land of the rogues' so do you wish to explain to us all what this place is exactly as nobody seems to know anything of it?" He asks, leaning forward in his office chair as I gulp remembering back to when I was a kid.

"Has any kids gone missing from your pack?" I suddenly ask Preston, as he seems to visually tense at the sudden involvement in our conversation.

"No... but she had the kids believing that it was an amazing magical place to go... especially my son." He explains, as I close my eyes for a second to regain my composure.

His son...

"She has targeted your son as he is the future Alpha. He has Alpha blood in his system. She loves that..." I state sadly, watching his face fall flat.

"How do you know this?" He asks me, as I look away briefly.

I can't tell them that I'm also an Alpha blood because then they will demand to know who my father is...

"She took me away from my pack when I was nine... she always went for the stronger kids, preferably the Alpha bloods but I guess I was a second choice." I try to cover myself although still telling the truth about the rest of the story.

"What pack were you from?" The King suddenly pops the question that I didn't want to answer.

"Excuse my lack of cooperation but I would rather not talk about my old pack... but to go back to your original questions... the land of the rogues is a real place that only rogues can enter or you may also enter If a rogue allows you to do so... though any high up male wolf will lose their title as soon as they enter... for example King, if I allowed for you to enter you would be stripped of your Alpha title and also your King title and you would be made a rogue." I explain as he scowls from across the table.

"What is her deal with the kids?" Preston suddenly questions, clearly still dwelling on the whole incident with his son.

"Well you see... she has been going from pack to pack for years, taking away kids who she felt were the strongest or easiest to lure away... once she managed to take them to the land of the rogues, she abused them, drank their blood and trapped them there whilst she continued to grow stronger over the years... let's not forget to mention that she has a sick and twisted sexual desire for younger men." I finished, fighting back the bile that threatened to rise in my throat.

She was all aspects of evil wrapped in one.

"So can you please explain to me what this all had to do with my daughter?!" The King's voice rises slightly, causing me to look down in shame.

"Silvia took me along with her one day, telling me that I had to help her find her next victims... when I was in the woods I ran into your daughter, realising that she was my mate instantly. From that point on I was selfish. I refused to lose the one glimpse of happiness that I had seen in years so rather than rejecting her, I took her with me and if it weren't for finding her then I would be dead right now." I finish, unable to look up to see his reaction.

"What do you mean you would be dead?" The King grits out, trying his best to remain calm.

"Due to Silvia draining me for so many years... I've became so defenceless against her and I've almost died eight times in the past six months from how much blood I've lost. In return, I began drinking your daughters blood to keep me strong and alive. I can't apologise enough for hurting your daughter sir." I explain, finally looking up to see a neutral expression on his face.

"I won't lie in saying that I wish to rip your head clean from your neck at the moment...but I can tell that you have told me the truth so far and our next step is to take action on getting back my daughter which is the most important thing right now." He states, as everyone around the table nods in agreement.

We need to save her... and fast.
