Chapter 37 - The Hunt

******Alpha King's POV******

"Sir... there's a huge deer approaching us... and... it seems to be shifting..." My army commander mind links me causing me to press on faster to reach the front of the crowd.

We were about twenty minutes away from the location now and everyone was on edge about the whole thing including myself.

But a deer? Shifting? Those creatures were extinct as far as I was aware?

They weren't just your average deer... they were huge, muscular creatures with long legs made for running.

This animal would be a bitch to kill if it was an enemy... they were stronger and faster than us... I don't have time for these sort of bumps in the road today!

Once I reach the front of our pack with Karson and Coda following closely behind me, I notice a tall woman standing in front of my men.

I shift, as does everyone else, as she just stares around at the large crowd surrounding her.

"Name yourself!" I demand, as her eyes widen at my volume.

I'm not taking any damn risks, she could work for Silvia.

"Farah... please know that I mean no harm..." She rushes out, holding her hands up in a surrender.

I then turn to Coda who looks just as baffled as the rest of us here...

"Coda do you know her?" I question him, as he shakes his head no.

Well that confirms that she must not work for Silvia because I'm sure Coda would recognise her after being stuck there his whole life...

"Wait! You're Coda? As in Maddison's mate Coda?" She gasps, her eyes widening even more than before as she stares straight at him.

What the fuck is going on...

"Do you know my daughter!" I roar, as she flinches at my sudden outburst taking a step back which only causes a few of my men to growl warningly.

"Wait...your daughter? Please excuse me but are you the Alpha King sir?" She asks softly, her whole face seeming to be shocked.

"I am. Now tell me what you know or I'll have you killed right here!" I keep up the whole dominant act, not letting myself slip up regardless of if she seems sweet.

"Oh God! Maddison will be so happy when she finds out you both are together to help save her! She thought you might have killed Coda and that you would never come!" She flashes a beaming genuine smile towards me which I of course don't return.

"Cut to the chase and tell me what you know about my damn daughter!" I grit out, her eyes widening in realisation.

"I am so sorry your highness or whatever you would prefer for me to call you... I just got so excited because I know how happy she will be to see you both... um... well since I'm not a wolf I can leave and enter that rogue place whenever I want since I too am kinda now a rogue because I'm the last of my kind... but em... I found Maddison and Seth hiding down by a river a few days ago and decided to help them since they were so kind to me and I don't really have any friends or family left. But basically Seth is currently going through his first shift and I came looking for a nearby town to get him some medicine or something to help but I found you all instead!" She rants quickly, everyone listening intently to keep up with her.

"Wait... why is Seth and Maddison hiding in the territory? What the fucks happened to them? What about Warren where is he?" Coda suddenly speaks up, shooting questions at the girl.

"Warren is Seth's brother right? Well they found out that he's been working with the evil woman Silvia this whole time so they left before she could hurt any of them and decided to hide in hopes that you would come save them... but Seth is having his first shift and is in a lot of pain and Maddison is scared they will get caught now due to how loud he's being..." She rambles again, causing my heart to quicken.

"I want everyone to get to that border NOW!" I roar, as my pack waste no time in shifting and sprinting off.

"That fucking bastard! I'll kill Warren when I find him! The dirty little snake that he is!" Coda rages to himself, his jaw now clenched and hands tightened.

"I need your help." I say to the woman named Farah as she nods in understanding awaiting a further explanation.

"I know all about your kind and I am very sorry about what happened to them years ago... but I also know that you are much stronger than us wolves... so I need your help with our plan..." I explain as she smiles softly.

"Anything... Maddison and Seth don't deserve to be stuck there and I'll do anything to help." She states confidently causing me to nod respectfully.

"I will reward you greatly for this once it's all over. You will be given a place to live and a permanent place in my pack- that is if you want to join our pack." I state as her smile grows.

"I would love to! Maddison said she would ask you to let me join so thank you so much sir!" She almost squeals out as I nod.

"We need to get going if we want to get there before they get caught... I will explain the plan once we reach the border."


******Silvia's POV******

"Okay so shall we split up and scope the territory from different sides?" I ask Warren, a huge grin plastered across my face as I can't hide my excitement for this whole game.

Poor little things think they can actually hide from me and that no harm will come to them? Fools.

This was a hunt for me... I loved it.

The hunt for sweet luxurious Alpha blood...

As for Seth... he has just been a waste of air this whole time.

"Yeah I'll start on the east side and work my way into the middle." Warren tells me, as I nod heading off in the opposite direction.

Warren was just a fool too. He was no more than a toy for me to play with. Though I did like the thought of having someone worship me so much so I might just keep him around. He could be my personal slave once I become the queen I suppose.

I stop in my tracks to sniff the air, not able to pick up any scents due to the rain throughout the night dampening and cleansing everything.

What a bitch but I guess it makes it all the more exciting...

I love a good challenge...
