Chapter 13: Mistake Relationship 2
Luciana who had been sleeping all along just woke up and immediately rushed down to the kitchen as soon as she perceived a sweet savouring aroma.
"You're just a sweet cute darling", she said as she met Jessie turning off the cooker. Jessie could only wonder what the praise was for, before realization dawned on her as Luciana quickly moved to the rack and took out a plate handing it to her to serve her some food.
"What do you want?", Jessie asked as she kept the plate back on the kitchen counter, staring at Luciana, she folded her arms across her breast.
"I just want to eat something", Luciana pouted.
"I'm not letting you, you should shower. You have literally slept all day."
Luciana could not contain her sadness and almost wanted to cry,
"I promise to shower once I'm done, can I just eat please?"
"What's going on with my girls?", a voice called out. It was Luciana's mom. She just got home unnoticed and made her way to the kitchen when she saw the mild argument going on.
"Mom, it's Luciana", Jessie said out in a rush, "she hasn't showered the whole day and she's been sleeping since", trying to sound more concerned, "I only told her to shower before eating and she's refusing", Jessie added.
"Luci....."
"But mom ..... I will once I'm done eating", Luciana pleaded sorrowfully.
"Okay.. Jessie, just let her eat", Mrs. Ranez said as Luciana quickly rushed to her and hugged her.
At the dinning, the trio ate lunch together discussing on how their day went. The girls talked about everything that happened at the party, leaving out the parts where they were drunk and had to sleep in the shelter of a guy they knew little of. The same Luciana who was sad few minutes back, giggled so loud all through lunch. It wasn't wrong to say she had a pure heart and one showing no worries.
Oswald who arrived at his family house two hours ago, was already lost in his own world. His mind drifted from the conversation at intervals, where he had to be called back by someone. He didn't understand how the meeting was taking so long. He felt, it will be a situation where they will just tell them their conclusions and everyone goes back to their businesses. Seeing how long the meeting took, his body trembled in worry of how much longer the board meeting may take. Once again, his mind drifted again and he was perturbed at what Charles may be doing with Jessie at the moment. If only his dare wasn't that stupid. He couldn't wait for the meeting to be over, so he could call Jessie, from her voice, he felt he will be able to guess what was going on with her.
Charles who just sat waiting for Carl got another beep on his phone,
"Or don't you miss me too?", It was Rebecca. A sliver of annoyance just ran through his body, why can she not leave him at least for today even as she was spending her time with someone else, he furrowed.
Keeping the phone behind, another beep came and he almost threw his phone before a call came, it was Carl, that was when he realized the last message was from Carl telling him he was at the golf club.
Charles and Carl read the same course at the college, Computer science and they were actually in their sophomore year. They just happened to be in the party as part of being a "cool dude thing". Since he got to Chelan college, he tried his best to keep a low profile even as he came from affluence and wealth. The Sport's scholarship was just a cover as he could get into the school if he wanted and he really didn't want to live off family wealth.
As they played, Charles and Carl talked about random things and even the party,
"Bro, how about the dare?", Carl probed.
"What about it?", Charles replied nonchalantly.
"You get to fuck with Jessica, ain't you anticipating?", Carl said with a controlled smile.
"Why should I?"
"She's a fresh blood Bro, I'm sure she's still succulent" Carl said in an in a matter of fact tone, I don't think you can get her on a normal day. Her innocence is so hard to come by.
"It means looks must be misinterpreting", Charles scoffed.
"Lol! It's probably not looks, it's just you that has fucked with so much girls, you think everyone is same", Carl stated smugly.
"Speaking about yourself", Charles huffed and they both burst into laughter.
"But about the dare, I may let it pass", Charles said with so much self satisfaction.
"I hope you are just joking. Who sees fresh meat and keeps it away?", Carl inquired with his eyes narrowed.
"I think me", Charles replied with the corner of his lips curled up. The conversation continued progressively and went on for as long as the game went on.
At about 8:00pm at Charles' house, Rebecca called and told him that she was so close to the house and planned to spend the night there. Before he could give a reply, telling her to not come, she hung up.
Just few minutes later, the doorbell rang and he felt it will be Rebecca, but he had also made up his mind to dismiss her. Opening the door, his eyes caught site of Rebecca grinning widely, wearing a tank top on denim shorts with woolen jackets on. He just stared at her from up to down before giving a faint smile.
"Oh... Becky, I really didn't expect you" Charles voiced out with a hint of surprise.
"But I sent a text", she smiled wearingly.
"You did? How did I not get it?", Charles knew he had no reason to lie, he just wasn't certain what to do about Rebecca yet. So, he still had to act cool and yes, he did not want to create unnecessary trouble for Jessie, at least not so soon with how weak her emotions were.
