Chapter 46: Pretty simple life
"Alyssa, you just have to be fine now, please," Raymond pleaded for the umpteenth time. He had finally gotten the freedom to see Alyssa, and he came as quick as he could, spending the major part of his Saturday with her.
Alyssa was finally getting better and could do a lot of her activities quite better, like talking without so much difficulty and walking about. The major thing that could be termed as the problem she faced at that time, was the emotional breakdown the allergy had caused her.
She was certain that everything that happened to her, was intentional and not from some silly mistake. Alyssa now understood the reason why she had a fidgeting feeling about what she could not place her hands on. The drama she was supposed to act, it was not one of the first she did, but surprisingly she felt scared that day.
"Or was it the uneasiness she felt why dressing up?" She always asked herself, as it was obvious that from all indications, her subconscious mind tried to communicate with her that everything was not alright. She was just grateful that it did not lead to something more severe, even as she had to carry the tags that had been added to her name from that event.
Jessie had talked to her, the night of the previous day, trying to make her understand that they were a lot of circumstances beyond their control as humans, and she could relate to her pain. But, she, Alyssa just had to be fine.
Raymond rushed over to her house that morning, fully aware that she was not feeling alright, as Jessie had briefed him about Alyssa's condition.
Raymond vowed to Alyssa that they were going to get to the root of it, as he was doing his best also, working on it. He promised her that whoever had cost her that much pain was going to pay for it, even as he had no idea how to go about it.
"I should be fine when my name is being dragged to the mud," she sobbed lightly, one of her palms spread across her eyes.
"Put that beside you, everything will be fine," Raymond stated, trying to encourage her.
"Stop telling me this," Alyssa yelled, making Raymond jerk a little, " just stop."
"All of this started from when I decided to be emotionally involved with you. Before now, I had a pretty simple and interesting life," she sobbed harder, "but now I'm always on a headline."
Raymond's face fell a little, and his emotions became so sad. Every single thing Alyssa said, was true. It was just, the way she had put it, that made it sound more terrible.
"I think Sophie is the cause of all this things," Raymond started, turning his whole body to Alyssa, "Jessie said it also."
"I know," she yelled out again, "and that is what irks me more. The fact that she is happy wherever she is, and I have to go through this stress. We don't have any proof to show it was her," Alyssa cried out, then leaned closer to Raymond and rested on his shoulders.
Raymond understood exactly what was going on, so he began to rub Alyssa's back steadily and softly, occasionally chiming in, "it will be fine," till she became calm.
"I am just scared, I really am," she uttered with a muffled voice as she rested on his shoulder. Alyssa was beginning to let her pain go, as she got consumed in the warmth of Raymond. She began to draw imaginary lines on his t-shirt, playing with her fingers, trying to bring out the supposed shape of a heart.
"You actually should not be scared, Alyssa," Raymond pulled out of the hug and stared at her intently, "you have me, and everything will be fine."
Alyssa's troubled face broke into a sincere smile that almost made her face color. Not to be disputed, Love was almost everything if not all, the calm to the raging storm, and the peace to the troubled heart.
"I'm sorry for not being there, Alyssa. I really am," Raymond pleaded, bringing his hands together like he wanted to say his prayers.
"It's fine, dear. It was not your fault, as we did not expect it, and also, you know I can't stay angry with you for long," Alyssa said, her eyes longing for more warmth from him.
"I was so scared and bothered, you just can not imagine how restless I was," Raymond giggled lightly, "okay, on a serious note, I was actually terrified."
"At least you are not now, and as you can see, I am fine now," Alyssa chuckled in response.
Raymond took his eyes away from Alyssa, trying to not fall deeper in love with her. The admiration he felt for her was increasing at a very fast pace which was alarming. "Something that started as a mere attraction was now beginning to make him restless," Raymond shook his head thinking about it.
Unable to control himself from drowning in her graciousness, Raymond took his left hand to Alyssa's cheeks, raising it just at his eye level, he fixed his gaze on her eyes for long, and out of his control, he spilled out the words, "I love you, Alyssa."
Alyssa was stunned at his statement would have been a better way to put it, if only she wasn't wishing silently that he said those words to her. Her lips parted into a gorgeous smile that was filled with elegance and dignity, making Raymond only love her more.
"I love you too, Raymond," Alyssa muttered out, and Raymond's face lit in excitement. The excitement that was in his expression, could be likened to the one a child experiences when he finally gets the box of chocolates he had been craving.
He took his face closer to Alyssa's lips and paused, taking his eyes to hers, trying to get permission to do just what he wanted to do.
Alyssa only smiled and kept on staring at him. In her mind, "he had to do whatever he wanted to do soon, as she was going to take the lead if he delayed."
Raymond grinned widely, understanding her facial expression, and took his lips to hers, smacking them against each other. He sucked on her lower lips, biting them like he was trying to satisfy his appetite with it, and savoring every single cell in them.
Alyssa closed her eyes, submitting her lips to the mercy of Raymond. She had always longed for the moment when he was going to treat her like a diamond and cherish her skin, sucking on every part of it, like she was caramel. She just left herself to him, allowing him to devour every part of her mouth with his teeth, lips, and tongue. Every one of it gave her this chilling sensation that she had no idea when she let her head fall to the bed, wallowing in all of the emotions she felt.
Raymond followed her actions steadily, and before he could know it, he was on her, sucking and nibbling on her lips, with his fingers running through her hair seductively, while she was immersed in the pleasure.
The kiss lasted for a few minutes before Raymond finally let go of her lips and stared straight into her eyes. Alyssa kept on giggling, as she turned her face away from him, using her hand to block her eyes.
"Now see who is acting timid to stare at me, when a few minutes back, she was taking in every pleasure and pressing her hands against my back. Or do you think I did not notice you gulping in the excitement?" Raymond spoke out.
"Raymond, "Alyssa yelled and turned her face to him, her facial expression showing disapproval, "I was not gulping any excitement in."
"Are you saying I was wrong?" He stated, raising his brows in inquiry, "well, we can still check it out to see if I said the truth." And after he finished talking, he took his lips back to Alyssa's and continued nibbling on it, lost in their world.
In another corner of Carlton city, the cool sea breeze danced around gaily making the leaves from trees around rustle and making the hair on skins shiver as goosebumps appeared on them. The sun blazed brightly casting its tremendous rays on the shore of the sea nearby. Waves crashed against each other and their noise reverberated in the atmosphere around causing the sea animals to squirm which echoed in Jessie's ears.
Jessie and Charles sat under a beach umbrella, basking in the pleasure of the environment and letting the emotions flow. Jessie's gaze was fixed on the ocean, even as she was looking at nothing in particular. Charles occasionally turned to her, taking glances at her, and intermittently going back to the screen of his phone.
"Thank you," Jessie said and Charles turned to her, confused.
"Thank you?" Charles questioned.
"Yes, thank you for this," Jessie smiled at him.
"If you are saying thank you now, then what will you say later? This is nothing yet, so you can save it for later." Jessie's face colored crimson listening to what Charles said. He was so loving and she could not stop herself from appreciating every one of his kindness.
"I don't know, but thank you." Charles gave Jessie a look of disapproval, as he didn't appreciate the numerous thank you she was saying.
"Let's go surfing," Charles declared as he rose to his feet, walking towards a shed where a lady sat, with a guy attending to some customers. They both wore baseball caps, and a t-shirt that had some letters printed on it, which Charles guessed were the letters of the name of the beach.
Jessie followed after him, jogging slightly. "How many more surprises was she going to get in that day?" She wondered.
"I have never surfed before," she voiced out as soon as she got to where Charles was, with her hands trying to massage her temples. Her brain was already hitting up from the scorching sun on the beach, but she decided she was not going to let it hinder her excitement for the day.
"I will teach you," Charles said to her quickly and continued moving towards the store. From all indications, it was a store that leased out surfboards, so Jessie felt he was probably going to hire for them.
"Two surfboards please," Charles said to the lady that sat lackadaisically, leaving the rest of the activities to the guy with her.
She turned and faced him, her teeth continuously biting on the gum she was chewing, and winked at how attractive he was. His muscles were perfectly toned and evenly spread apart, every single thing about him was worth dying for, beginning from his facial muscles down to his torso.
The lady kept on drooling at him, till Jessie waved at her with her hands calling her back, "we asked for two surfboards."
Charles smiled fully aware of what Jessie did, and just kept quiet smirking internally, "she was beginning to fall too deep for him," he thought.
The lady that drooled over Charles just rolled her eyes at Jessie and stood up to get the surfboards. She brought it out, gave Charles the papers to show that it was leased out, and went back to what she was doing, "sitting lazily."
"I don't like her," Jessie said to Charles as soon as they were out of the lady's hearing, and Charles grinned widely.
