Chapter 68: I am sick 1

Luciana walked into the hallway of Chelan college, with her face raised high as she did. They were no news flying about her, but she was still not relaxed to face Carl, as they had not talked ever since the breakup.
Jessie walked beside her, trying to not only be emotional support but a physical one also.
Luciana was very much unaware that why she was battling with her emotional issues there at Carlton city, her mom was still in sorrowful tears from meeting her father.
She was only aware that she had gone to a convention, but she had no idea where it was or how she went about it.
Mrs. Ranez had run off the other day, from her husband's hotel room to a bar in one place in the city, for all she cared, she wanted to drink away her pains, even as she was a health worker that shunned drinking of alcohol.
The air around Luciana was filled with the scent of mixed perfumes, air fresheners, detergents, and the smell of food that wafted through her nostrils.
She was putting on tight-fitting blue jeans, with a medium size t-shirt and wore a jacket on it. Luciana wore a sandal heel that was raised a little to compliment her dress, smiling at everyone that deemed it necessary as she did.
A few steps away from her locker, she saw Carl resting on a locker with his phone, and decided to walk over to him.
Jessie stood back to pick up some books, while Luciana went ahead walking toward him, smiling as he did.
Carl noticed Luciana walking toward him, and immediately his face fell into a frown.
"Hey dear," Luciana beamed widely, partly trying to act like everything was alright with them.
Just as Carl heard Luciana's voice, his eyes caught Cassandra approaching him, and he smirked inwardly.
"He was finally going to let her have a taste of her own medicine. Or was it not what she wanted?" the thoughts ran through his mind.
"Cassandra," Carl called out almost immediately, walking to her, then placing a peck on her cheeks upon his arrival, "you look beautiful today."
Cassandra was shocked also, and it took her a long to adjust to the fact that it was Carl, he had just pecked her.
Carl did not even do a good job faking it a little or trying to whisper to Cassandra that all of it was intended to get back to Luciana, but instead, he did what he wanted to do right away, leaving Luciana stunned.
Luciana was still wide eyes from everything that had happened in front of her minutes ago.
She wanted to laugh all of it out and applaud him for the well-played drama, yet it didn't feel too good in her eyes either.
Everything that went on between them was so natural like they had been dating for some time. From the peck, he gave her, to the immediate smile on her face. Even the part where he said he was thankful for starting a thing with her and slipping his hands into her arms, then they both walked away.
None of it made sense.
"Was it none a few days back they had an issue, and Carl was having a happy life already?"
To an extent, Luciana wanted to feel satisfied, after all, it was what she want and she was the one that gave him the go-ahead.
"But, how could he have forgotten everything they shared in a twinkle of an eye, how?" She murmured, with drops of tears sliding down her cheeks.
Luciana quickly took her hands to her face, wiping the tears, as the consciousness of her environment began to hit her, and she realized that they were curious eyes of people fixed on her.
She forced a smile and walked to any other place that was aware from the eyes of people, picking up pace as she did. For all she cared, she needed to escape the disturbing and piercing eyes of people, to let out her sorrow all alone.
"I'm sorry," Carl muttered out loud to Cassandra that walked beside him, releasing her from his grip as he did.
"Sorry?" She raised her brows to him, perplexed.
"Yeah, all of it was a drama. Thank you for playing the part, "He admitted, acting a lil bit nonchalant to the emotional damage he was causing the two girls at the same time. If he was in an argument, he will have probably said he had been hurt, so there was no big deal making them feel exactly as he did.
"Drama..., Ohh," Cassandra smiled wearingly, sad that all of it was a drama. "But was she foolish to think it was real?" She asked herself internally, then giggled nervously.
Carl noticed the forced laughter she gave, but he intended to not pay any attention again to it, so he just smiled at her.
"I will be going then," he smiled as he walked away. Not even turning back to see if she was in the right state of mind.
Cassandra fell to the seat that was beside her, feeling messed up that all of it was happening to her. Usually, she was the one shutting guys up and messing with their emotions, but now it felt like all of it was coming back at her, piercing every single cell of her body.
Luciana finally found a spot that was saved from people or was it a closet, the Janitor's closet?
At that moment, she felt so vulnerable and was fighting hard for the tears to not just pour out like rain torrents. Almost every corner she went to was occupied, so the Janitor's closet felt like the perfect place for her.
Immediately she got in, she fell to the ground dejectedly, sobbing terribly as she did, trying to not scream out her lungs.
On one corner of Chelan college was Cassandra feeling bad, and on the other side was Luciana, sobbing her heart out and blaming herself for everything that was going on with her.
All of it was for one person, Carl.
