Chapter 31: Hill's view college

Staring steadily at Jessie who lay close to him, thoughts of the event kept on replaying in his head.
She laid beside him, curled up, innocent as a lamb. He remembered the fear that was written all over her face, and the difficulty it took her before she could sleep. Even after she got out of the bathroom, she kept on experiencing shaking chills, and could barely eat the pasta and tomato sauce he made for her.
She had changed into pajamas that were his, as what she wore was drenched in the rain. Her smooth lips he had always wanted to bite on, colored pale, and if observed closely, dried-up teardrops were on her face.
Every single thing about the evening affected her more badly than he could imagine and the only help he saw himself offering was rubbing her back till she slept.
The innocence and charisma of a child were all he saw on her face even though he tried looking at it countless times trying to see the wickedness that was printed all over Tamara.
It was midnight in Carlton City, and the rain that poured heavily had stopped, paving a way for the cloud to appear, mapping out patterns.
Colorful glow and lights radiating from houses and the street lights, beautify the streets of Carlton. Risen puddles hurriedly made their way to the nearest drainage, making the road more accessible.
Charles stood up from the bed, unable to bear the guilt of the pain he planned to cause Jessie.
He walked to the window and stood there, closing his eyes, memories of Tamara came rushing in

"So I heard you are the freshman that started two weeks late?" a girl walked over to Charles, blocking him from accessing his locker.
"Yes, I am. is there any problem?" Charles inquired, confused as to why he was obstructed.
"I don't think there's any. I am Tamara, you should have heard of me." She assured, extending her hand for a handshake.
"And who are you that I should know about you?鈥? He asked with his head tilted to the side. His hands were tucked into his pockets as he stared at her extended hand.
"You really won't say this somewhere else. Well, I will forgive you as you are a newbie." She said and kept her hand by her side. Her brows furrowed in anger but she smiled like nothing happened.
Charles stood staring at her, wondering who she was and what gave her the right to have such an attitude.
"Just know I am an important part of your stay here. I am Tamara Hills, I hope the name rings a bell" she said with a nonchalant expression.
"oh... Hill's view, the hills in it?" He asked, as he recurred something.
"You are quite wise. This college belongs to my family, so you should do my bidding" She said and a smirk crept on her face.
"Is this why you stopped me? To tell me what you are? Well, I know now. Can you leave my locker, I need to pick up something,", he informed, trying to shove her away.
"No, I am not done, I am still talking to you," Tamara released a wide smile, "I find you interesting, so I came to tell you," she said rolling her hair on a finger and Charles raised his eyebrows inquisitively at her statement.
"Not just that, I and two of my friends made a bet," she continued.
"How does it concern me?" He asked her as he observed her. How was she able to maintain her composure? He thought to himself.
"The bet is about you. Amongst us, the first person to have a thing with you, and sadly I don't enjoy losing out on bets." She said and began walking toward him. Her eyes travelled from his face to his stomach.
Touching his chest with her index finger seductively, "I am telling you so that you will make it easier for me." She said and seductively licked her lips.
"Okay," he nodded.
鈥? Is that it?. You did not even say you are going to think about it," Tamara queried with a questioning gaze.
"Well, I will not say that because I am not going to think about it. I am not going to be part of your rubbish, and you should tell your friends to not even have their hopes raised high," he stated, staring straight into her eyes.
With an anger-filled face, "you will do as I say," She declared and stormed away in anger, swaying her hips in all directions.
Charles did not pay much attention to her words, instead, he picked up his book and left class.
It was not up to a week when Tamara walked over to him again. He had just finished basketball training and made his way to the male locker room. On getting there, he did not see other guys inside the room which was unusual. Minding his business, he decided to do his thing and leave the room as soon as he could.
"So what did you conclude on? Tamara said, making her way in, taking calculated steps.
"About what?"
"The bet I told you about. Don't tell me you left my words hanging?鈥? she asked with her hands on her hips.
"I'm afraid I did, I thought you were joking. Was I supposed to think about it?" He said nonchalantly.
"Yes of course," she yelled in anger. Taking a deep breath to stay calm, "you still have a chance to rethink your actions," she voiced out, walking closer to him.
"Stay back, Tamara," Charles muttered, he had an idea of what she wanted to do, and he was in no way tolerating it.
"Why? Don't you find me attractive?" She asked with furrowed brows.
"Just stay back," unable to control his anger, he pushed her and left the locker room with his bag. If only he was informed about the consequences of his actions.
The next morning at Hill's view college, Charles walked into the hallway of the school, eyes glaring at him dangerously, with the air filled with the sounds of indistinct chatters. He did not need to turn to point out where the stares came from, as he could feel the prickling sensations from the glare all around him. Before he could walk over to someone to know what he had done wrong, a voice came through the microphones above the lockers in the hallway,
"Charles Huston, report to the Chancellor's office now" and that was when he realized that he was in a big mess. On every normal day, he will think the stares were from improper dressing or a funny hashtag with his picture flying about. Hearing that the Chancellor requested his presence, only caused fear to grip him and he could do nothing but hope that everything was fine.
Charles walked out of the Chancellor's office filled with agony. It was reported that he almost harassed Tamara Hills, and he dealt with her badly when she refused to give in to his demands. According to the report, she was hospitalized and in a very bad state because of him. The Chancellor of the college decided to expel him and made it hard for him to get admitted to any other school in Ausburg city. His friends, his family, and almost everyone that cared about him began to see him as a devil in disguise and he only hated himself the more. He lost part of his shares and it took long before he could regain the trust his mother had lost in him, so he vowed to himself that he was going to get back at Tamara.
~~Present~~
Charles opened his eyes, inhaling the cool breeze of the night, and allowing every emotion he felt to sink in. Then, he made his way back to the bed and laid down just beside his prey.
