Chapter 8: Charles is so good

"It's fine, maybe if the need arises some other time, I will still do it", he said raising his hand to his eyes in a way that it looked as if he was cleaning stray tears away from his eyes.
Jessie admired his actions and she fell in love with his sense of humour immediately.
In the middle of their drama, they did not notice that Luciana had woken up, though her visions were not clear as she still tried to adjust her eyes to the brightness.
"Jessie", she called out, rubbing her forehead, "get me a pain relief, my head hurts", Luciana complained bitterly.
Jessie turned towards Charles with this facial expression of "Please, can I get any from you?"
"No, no... nobody is using any pain relief drug. It's a hangover, you are to let the pain subside and not take any drugs. But for now, you should eat", Charles declared. "I will just get you toothbrushes, so you can freshen up and eat", he added while moving to his closet.
Opening it, there was a pack of tooth brush and he removed two, handing one to Jessie and the other to Luciana.
Jessie tried peeping into the closet to check if she will see some female undies, since he had a pack of toothbrush, "maybe girls always passed their night there", she thought releasing a scoff.
Luciana getting more conscious of her environment, "Jessie... how are we here?", She asked. Jessie was a little bit confused, she thought Luciana had an idea but it turned out they were both in the dark.
Reflexly, Jessie turned her head to Charles, "how did we even get here?", She asked in confusion. Luciana recalled she had given him their address, so why were they not in their houses.
"I thought I told you where we live", Luciana stated.
"Yes, you did. You slept off before I could even get there. Also, I had no idea which of the apartment was yours exactly and I think there was no one at your house, so I could not leave you there", Charles surrendered.
"So you drove us to your place instead", Luciana said, "like why could you not wake us up?", She murmured which got her a glare from Jessie.
"Thank you", Charles heard Jessie say.
Lifting his brow in inquiry, "what did I do?"
"Thank you for bringing us here", Jessie added.
"It's nothing, I just could not leave you guys alone out there". One thing Jessie pointed out, his humility and nobility was remarkable.
Jessie could only imagine the mess she was in before Charles found her, she hoped she had not said something unnecessary. The thoughts of it made her cheeks color red in embarrassment.
On the other side, Luciana was really appreciative of his help, she just felt he didn't have to go through the stress.
"Thank you", Luciana said to Charles.
"Enough with the thank you, my wings are getting larger already", Charles giggled.
"You should just eat and freshen up. I will be back", he said.
"I am sure you have already acquainted yourself with the Bathroom", Charles said staring at Jessie who only lowered her head and hid her smile in embarrassment.
Luciana had no idea what they were talking about, they should just be done with their love conversation and show her where she could freshen up, she just wanted to eat, her belly mattered most this time.
"Okay, I will leave now", Charles stated turning towards the door.
"You should join us too", Luciana said lifting herself up from the bed.
Charles made a reverse turn, "I should?", he asked.
"Yeah", Jessie said, "besides we denied you your comfort, we won't want to finish your food too", she chortled.
On the actual basis, Charles has not eaten yet because he really did not enjoy eating early. He decided to join them anyway, fortunately the scrambled eggs he made could even be enough for four people. He made that much because he had no idea how large their food consumption rate was.
"Really, I feel so honored. I will get an extra cup while waiting for you to be done freshening up", he gushed out with excitement and left the room.
Jessie could not understand how Charles could possess such manly and noble aura and still act with the innocence of a child. To her, his lifestyle was one that should be modelled as she still had not find a quality in him that was disgusting and a red flag.
Well, she made a mental note to not conclude yet as she was just beginning to know him.
Charles stepped out of the room and moved down to the kitchen, he kept a broad smile all through. He was starting to feel some sincere happiness lately and it was a good thing.
Jessie showed Luciana the bathroom and they both got in to wash their teeth. Their head was hurting so much, but they had to manage the pains as they asked for it themselves when they consumed a lot of alcohol.
"Jessie", Luciana called out, "Charles is so good you know". Jessie that was just rinsing her mouth from the first wash and applying toothpaste on her brush for another round, just paused. She was surprised at Luciana's statement but decided to flow with it.
"I know right? But why do you say so", Jessie inquired.
"I have no special reasons, I just feel he's not bad. Compared to a lot of guys. The way he even offered a ride when he could stay back at the party and left his room so we can be comfortable. I think it's enough reasons.", Luciana declared.
"Maybe it is just his nature. Some people generally are caring, it does not mean they don't have terrible flaws", Jessie said trying to not show that she honestly agreed with Luciana. "I think they are so many other people like that, so we can't just conclude because of this help he gave".
"Now see who's sounding like she doesn't care about the help when few minutes ago, back with him, she almost ate me for sounding like I did not appreciate.", Luciana beamed.
