Chapter Eleven- The Leech

**Vincent**

Michelle closed the door behind her, exiting my office eventually. Her face was blank all through what I said till she left the office.

Seeing as I couldn't read any emotion on her face made me realize how most people feel when they talk to me because I've also mastered the art of talking without showing any expression.

I slumped back on the chair immediately I was left alone and ringed my secretary to bring my coffee to me.

I started preparing for the day when a knock sounded on my door, i thought it was Avery, my secretary so I muttered a 'come in'.

My attention was still on the files on my table when I heard clicking of heels which made me look up.

Avery knows really well how much I hate it when her shoes make sounds on the floor so I knew it wasn't her.

“The f*ck do you want?" I growled on seeing Valerie. She strutted towards me and sat down on the chair before me.

“I came to see you." She said simply.
“What part of ‘I do not want to see you again’ did you not understand?”

"The part where I didn't agree to that. You didn't want to see me, which I'm very sure you didn't mean, but I do want to see you.” She kept that annoying smile on her face.

“Don’t you think it's getting too long already? We should be together by now already. I agree that this break is longer than the others, but I miss you. My friends keeps thinking we're done for real.”

“You need a mental check up, I'm being for real this time around. Now let me get this into your thick brain, we're over. I do not want anything to do with you.” I said, a little bit loudly.

"No, Vinnie-" I interrupted her before she could continue.

Only one person calls me that, and hearing it from Valerie too struck a chord in me.

“Don't call me that. And get the f*ck out of my office."
She stood up and walked towards where I was sitting directly, I didn't move when she got close to me too, I was waiting for just the right proximity.

“We were through too much for you to just throw everything out of the window that way, I know you miss me, you miss my body.”

She pushed herself closer to me and I stood up at that moment, I pushed her till she was tightly to the wall. My hand wrapped around her neck.

“The f*ck did I tell you about bothering me? I made it clear to you that night that I wanted nothing to do with you. Stop f*cking hovering around me, I do not want to see you ever again, you disgust me!” I dropped her to the ground.

She fell on the ground and clutched her neck tightly. Just then, a knock sounded on my door. I told whoever it was to come in.

Avery entered the office with a steaming cup of coffee in her hand.

“This is the second time in two days you're allowing people come into my office unannounced, are you that tired of your job?"

She looked confused at first till Valerie coughed next to my table.

“The brewing machine here isn't working so I went to the next floor to get the coffee, I wasn't aware that she came here.”

“Whatever, get her out of my office now." I took the coffee from her and just went to stand by the window.

There's no way I'm working on that table with her still there. Barely a minute later, Avery came back in with two security guards who came to take Valerie away.

“Yes, send me the one with the chocolate background. I can't find it in my folder.” I said to my assistant on the phone while working on the laptop.

He's currently representing me on a work trip I'm meant to attend. I was about to finalize the deal when I realized that I might have mistakenly deleted one of the files.

“On it, boss."

I received the document almost immediately and i started skimming through it. I was halfway through it when I started seeing another thing on the laptop.

The chocolate background came as a reminder for the only th- person I've been trying to forget; Michelle.

I ran my hand through my hair in frustration, closing my eyes for some time so they'd get even clearer again.

I really need to start going home now, it's evening and I've been working since morning, having even skipped lunch.

Opening my eyes, I skimmed through the remnant of the document then signed on the necessary places. I shut down the system then packed up my other belongings.

I stepped into the elevator and was on the first floor in no time. I was almost knocked down back by someone when I got to the ground floor.

The strong stench of the same perfume I got rid of this afternoon filtered into my nostrils.

“I've been waiting for you here, those guys wouldn't let me come in. Please you need to hear me out this time around.” She pleaded.

I yanked off her hand on my arm then started walking off as though she didn't just say something.

“Please, Vincent, this is really life threatening, i promise to not disturb you again after this, just hear me out this once then it's up to you to decide what you want to do.”

I still didn't say anything but walked through the big doors of the lobby with her still running behind me.

When I got to where my car is always parked, she stood at the door of the backseat where I wanted to open.

“You have just fifteen seconds."
She took in a heavy breathe, “Thirteen seconds more." I said.

“I just need you to pretend to still be my boyfriend for two weeks. I'm working on something and without you pretending to be my boyfriend, I don't think it's ever going to work out, all y-” I cut her off.

"Time up. And no.” I moved her away from the door and got in.

My driver was in the car already. "Drive.” I ordered him.
