Chapter 49: The Ball

Michelle

*Two weeks later*

It’s been two weeks since the club incident, but everything had been going fine. The last two weeks had been hectic and stress due of the preparation for the annual ball which was today. Everyone had gotten a date, even I. It was Liam though, even if I was pestered enough to agree to be his date. I didn’t know what he was thinking when he asked me to be his date even though he had been rooting for Vincent and i to be together.
I didn’t know what to wear to the ball, but I was hoping I will successfully get a gown from Evelyn, if not, I will have to apologize to Liam, and ditch him. But I can’t do that as attendance was compulsory for every staff.
I sighed, my stomach growling loudly. I was really hungry. I had not eaten anything before I left home for work today as my mom wanted to start a drama just because there were no eggs and milk at home anymore, but I successfully escaped.
“Hey, Michelle,” Liam blocked me, stopping me from advancing further.
“Hey, Liam. What’s up?” I asked him.
“Are you free now?” He asked, ignoring my question.
“Yeah….why asking?”
“Good. Let’s go,” he grabbed my hand and pulled me with him. Hushed murmurs flew around as employees stared at us till we got to the elevator.
“What are you trying to do, Liam. I am in no mood for your nonsense this evening,” I warned, but he ignored me, smirking.
“What is going on, Liam. Evelyn is waiting for me so we can get dressed together,” I said, already knowing she would be prancing about the office.
“I told her you are with me. No need to worry yourself to death.”
I glared at his choice of words. “Where are you taking me to then?” I asked impatiently.
“When we get there, you will know. For now, be a nice obedient little princess and shut your mouth.”
“Excuse me, something must be….” He cut me off before I could complete my sentence.
“It is not like I want to murder you for f**k sake, Michelle. I mean even if I wanted to, Vincent was going to kill me. So please, just trust me this once,” he said, just as the elevator opened.
We walked to his car, got in and drove off with a speed. Soon, he stopped at a big, good looking salon. As we entered, I felt intimidated. The inside was beautifully decorated, and the air was cool.
“Mr Liam,” a young woman who smiled till her eyes disappeared approached us. She was tall and beautiful. She looked like a model and she walked comfortably well in the high heels she was putting on. She smelled like vanilla and she looked like the person who you would feel completely at ease with.
“Angelina,” Liam greeted with a wink, pulling her in for a hug, and they separated soon after.
“Is this her,” she asked, staring at me with a smile.
“Yes,” Liam answered.
“She’s a sight to behold,” she stared at me in a way a man would stare at a woman, making me uncomfortable, making Liam chuckle.
“She’s bi-sexual,” he whispered to my ear, and my eyes widened.
“I will leave her to you, and get back in the next two hours. You should be done by then,” he nodded at me and left.
“Come on, let’s get you cleaned up and let me do my magic. You are in for a treat,” she chuckled, hooking my hand with hers and pulled me away.
We entered a room where four ladies were. “Start with the bathing and waxing,” Angelina commanded. Before I knew what was happening, I was dragged into the bathroom by two of them. They started pulling off my clothes till I was left in my bra and pant.
“What do you think you are doing?” I asked, my eyes widening in horror, but they didn’t answer. My bra and pant was pulled and I was stark naked. They pulled me into the bathtub and bathed me like a kid. After that, they waxed and oiled my body. I felt different, a good kind of different. They pulled me back into the room, and soon Angelina came and began working on my makeup and hair. Soon we were done.
A lady brought a white long gown which had a slit at the left leg. It was made of silk. I wore it with the help of the ladies. Their eyes widened in surprise as they stared at me.
“What is wrong?” I asked nervously. Angelina moved away from the mirror and I stared at the mirror speechlessly. “Is that me?” I asked, wanting to be sure I wasn’t staring at myself in another body. The white gown clings gracefully to my body, accentuating every curve. The gown was an off shoulder gown, which exposed my neck and collarbone. I felt like a queen.
“Would you be my model?” Angelina asked, successfully taking my attention away. The four ladies eyes widened in amazement. Before I could respond, the door opened, and Liam walked him clad in black suit which fitted perfectly. He looked attractive.
“Woah! Is this Michelle?” His eyes widened.
“Yes. Is she your woman?” Angelina asked, moving closer to me.
“Don’t try that, Angelina. She’s not mine, but you can’t compete with the one who owns her,” he smirked, moving close to me. I frowned at his words, but soon forgot about it.
“Something is missing,” he said, and soon after, I felt something cold in my neck. It was a silver necklace.
“Ready?” He asked.
“Yes.”
We arrived at the venue which was crowded with people and paparazzi. Everyone looked happy, all with a partner with them and those who aren't with the opposite gender looked happy with their friends.
The atmosphere is one of ease already and the event hasn't started yet.
“Let the show begin,” Liam said with a smirk and he got down from the car.
