Chapter 55: A little fight
Chapter Fifty Four: A little fight.
Michelle
I nodded, attempting to take the first step but was forced to stand back on the spot with the sharp pain that came to my head and the wave of dizziness that washed over me.
“I got you." I heard him say directly behind me. The loose arm around my waist tightened a bit.
He helped me out of the house with Christopher and Liam behind us. The gates to the house were wide open which made him falter a bit, he led me to his car either ways and buckled me up.
He closed the door behind me, walking over to Liam and Christopher, he said something to them within five seconds and was back to the car.
He got in, entering the driver's seat and buckling his own seatbelt. That was when he turned to look at me, I looked away before his eyes could meet mine.
He sighed then put the car into drive, revving out of the driveway. He waited till Liam's and Christopher's car were out completely before he drove out too.
“I need to lock the gates, I'll be back in a second.” He said when the car was completely out, I nodded in understanding and he got out.
I was left alone once more and I let out a huge breath that I had no idea I was holding. If it was possible, I'd fly home currently, I needed to get home as soon as I could.
It's almost not feasible again, since I didn't sleep home already and everything that was going to happen would still happen either way, but it's still better to get there now than later.
The car's door was opened again, effectively breaking me out of the reverie I was lost in, Vincent got in. I didn't even notice him walking towards the car before he got in.
“Are you good?” He asked me as he looked at me once he got in, assessing me with his eyes.
“Yes, why did you ask?" I frowned.
He cleared his throat, “It's nothing, you looked a bit phased there.” He mumbled as he started driving again.
"I'm okay.” I said again.
It was quiet between us again, Vincent kept glancing at me like he wanted to say something but he kept quiet each time he opened his mouth.
So he gets nervous too, another realization.
Halfway through the journey, he eventually talked. I kept my gaze on the road even though I could barely see anything as everything was blurry.
“I’m deeply sorry for putting you in this state.” He started.
"What state?” I took my eyes off the road, eventually meeting his eyes.
He sighed as he turned to look at the road again. “You know what I'm talking about, Michelle."
"It's not your fault that the man didn't trust that I didn't harm you. You were out too, I know you wouldn't let him do that if you weren't unconscious.” I muttered.
“That’s the f*cking point! You never find anything wrong with anything I do, even when I'm wrong, h*ck, I'm always wrong!” He almost yelled, his voice got higher.
I looked at him with shock plastered on my face, it was as though he was talking out of the equation as I didn't expect anything like that from him.
Was I supposed to point accusing fingers at him for drinking himself to stupor, he should be my guest then.
“Fine then. It's your fault for drinking your ass off in the first place." I gritted then turned my attention to the road that was almost unseen by me.
He stopped the car again, I looked outside to see that we were just outside a pharmacy.
“What are we doing here?" I asked, looking out the window.
“To get your drugs." He replied, unlocking the door.
“You didn't have to, thank you." I mumbled and he only nodded stiffly and got out the the car.
I stayed in the car, waiting for him to get out. My head rested between the window and the headrest, my eyes closed too.
I was almost getting to sleep when the sound of the car opening made me open my eyes. Vincent handed over a plastic bag to me and I took it from me.
The staunch smell of drugs filtered into my nostrils, making me scrunch up my nose in disgust. If there's anything I hate the most, it has to be the smell of drugs, they disgust me.
I looked up when I didn't hear the car being started, my eyes made contact with Vincent's who was already looking at me. It was almost too intense that my heart missed a beat at first with how deep it was.
He cleared his throat then took his eyes off mine, being the first person to break the gaze.
There was silence between us for sometime after he started the car, he turned to my street with his hold on the steering wheel getting insanely tight. What's his problem now?
“Michelle, I didn't say what I said earlier to fight you, I swear.” He sighed as he got to a few houses away from mine, the car had started swerving as the road was uneven.
“Can you drop me here, please? I'll go from here.” I replied to him, already feeling nervous.
The anticipation from earlier dwindled down drastically as I sight the house from afar, my heart raced erratically in my chest.
The last thing I wanted was to get out of this car, and also never get out of it. I was starting to regret coming home already. They'd be so wasted by now, the state I hate seeing them in.
He stopped the engine and I looked out with bated breath, it felt like a hard thing for me to open the car. I wanted to, but u just couldn't.
“I’m sorry once again, Michelle.” I mumbled and ran my hands through my hair.
“It's okay, I've got to go now." I tumbled out of his car, resting my hand a bit on the before I eventually found a footing.
“Thanks for the ride." I bent down, only to see that he had also walked out of the car and was almost by my side.
“It’s nothing, I'll just walk you home.
I couldn't reply him when another voice sounded behind us, a throat was cleared; my father.
