Chapter Fourteen
With everything going on, trying to pack dad and Celestial up, moving Sabrina and Mark into the gigantic house, and saying our goodbyes, the days were hectic following the decision on the Council's part.
*Three days*
That's all I had was three days. I took every chance I could to be near my dad or Celestial. Celestial would start crying, pulling me into long hugs. I had no tears left, it was as if my body just wouldn't produce them anymore, no matter how hydrated I stayed. I couldn't imagine how dad was feeling, but as usual, he stood strong and gave a proud, determined face. Celestial and my dad talked about money for us to live off of for the next two years, the cost of the house, food for the three of us and other such things that needed to be taken care of. Although Celestial was extremely wealthy, she tried to give me all her credit cards. I declined them, saying that they would probably be cut off once the bank found out she was exiled. Her eyes drooped. I hated seeing her like this.
"Don't worry about the money or food for them." Mr. Irvine chirped as he walked into the house. We knew he was going to be dropping by to see the progress and to make sure that my dad wasn't being his typical asshole self and refusing to leave.
"What do you mean?" My dad asked after putting a box down by the front door.
"Sabrina and Morgan will be required to work, and Mark, you will continue your job at the warehouse. Food will be bought and provided by the council every week. Since technically the girls are underaged, you will not have to worry about the water or electricity. A portion of their job earnings will be taken, for tax purposes of course. Outside of that, they will all be taken care of. Mark, I wouldn't show your true nature to anyone, even if you're in danger. If the Council finds out what you are," he glanced at me, "there will be severe consequences. Sabrina-"
"We will discuss that later." Sabrina broke through. I eyed her suspiciously. She shot me a "I'll tell you later" look before running outside to grab some more boxes to bring into the house.
"Mr. Irvine?" My voice quiet and unnerving. He looked at me, nodding for me to continue. "How did you know about Mark?"
Mr. Irvine smiled. It didn't seem malicious, but I definitely didn't trust it from my gut wretching at the sight of it.
"Because, I can smell it on him." Mr. Irvine chuckled, his eyes starting to glow a different color than that of his golden hazel eyes. His eyes turned a bright red, fangs slightly protruding from his mouth. "Unlike your loving stepmother, I feed off human hosts. However," he took one step towards me, Celestial rushing to be right by my side in a blink of an eye, "I am a friend of Celestial's and your fathers. I will make sure no harm comes to you." His eyes went back to their original color. My heart raced a million miles a minute, glancing at Celestial, whose eyes were still red with anger.
"How dare you show your true self to her." Celestial growled. HOLY SHIT! I had never seen or felt anger radiate off of her in such a way. I felt protected, but still a bit uneasy. Mr. Irvine shrugged.
"It's better for her to know now, then later." He purred at Celestial. My dad stopped, looking at the three of us, before stepping between Mr. Irvine and Celestial.
"Stand down honey. Stand down." My dad's voice was calm and collectively cool.
"Chris, I haven't been able to tell her everything! He's not a normal Vampire. He's a damn Hybrid! He's much more dangerous." Celestial growled, her eyes never leaving Mr. Irvine.
"I know, I know sweetheart. We will tell her, I promise." My dad rested his hands on her shoulders. Perplexion and confusion covered my face, but that was only a small portion of the emotions I was currently feeling.
"Okay." Celestial breathed, her eyes changing back to normal. I let out a deep sigh, not realizing I was actually holding my breath till I tried breathing in again, causing my lungs to burn. "Morgan, will you please come with me? There is something I want to show you before we go. It's actually going to be your new room."
"But I like my room." I pouted out my bottom lip. Celestial shot a very authoritative look my way, and I had no reason but to comply. She started walking away, still eyeing Mr. Irvine until she turned the corner into the hallway. "What the hell was that?!" I asked when I was sure we were out of hearing rage.
"Morgan." Celestial turned towards me, placing both hands on my shoulders. "There is so much that you need to know, that I don't have time to teach you. I'm going to have to trust Mark and Sabrina to fill you in on a lot of things. But there is one thing I want to show you. I should have started teaching you when I first married your father, but I was naiive to think that anything would actually happen to us or you so soon." She grabbed a hold of my hands, rather tightly I might add, and started to walk me towards a hallway I had never seen before. I had roamed this place so many times, but I had never seen this hallway before.
"This hallway, why have I not seen it till now?" Bewilderment filled my voice as I looked around, breathlessly.
"This hallway is protected from those who shouldn't see it. I have now let you, Sabrina and Mark have access to it. If you feel you're in any type of danger, this place will protect you." She trudged us along for what seemed like 5 minutes before we reached a door. I saw some boxes near the door that had some of mine, Sabrina's and Mark's items in it. I did a double take, examining the boxes before hearing Celestial talk.
*"Calypso"* She growled. The doors unlocked, creaking open ever so slightly. She let go of my wrists, pushing the door open to allow the light of the room to accentuate the hallway, making it brighter. I covered my eyes, adjusting to the light before following Celestial into the magnificent, gigantic room. I blinked fast, spinning around the room. The room was about as large as the house! There was a kitchen with brand new appliances, a massive library, and a dwindling staircase that lead to seperate rooms on the second floor.
"How...?" My voice was beyond lost. So many questions circled in my head. I looked at Celestial for answers to the many questions swirling my brain. My comprehension was completely gone. My mouth hung open, eyes wide looking back around this massive room.
"I created it." Sabrina's voice came up from behind. She held her arm with her other hand. Looking down at the ground, she bit her bottom lip before looking up at me.
"Sabrina, it's amazing, but how did you do it?" I couldn't help but feel there was something I wasn't told, and the evidence was written all over her face.
"Because, I'm a sorceress, Morgan. I'm sorry I didn't tell you before. I was told to keep it a secret. At least.." Her voice trailed off, glancing at Celestial, tears obviously forming in her eyes.
"At least what?" Anger started to rise, but not because Sabrina kept this from me. I could understand why, but there was obviously something that was not being told, and it had to do with me. I just knew it did.
"At least until you were told about your own lineage. You and Sabrina both come from a long line of Sorcery." I heard my dad's voice from behind Sabrina. Sabrina jumped out of her skin damn near!
"What are you talking about dad?" I voiced loudly. Sabrina walked over to me, running her hands over my whole person. I felt this surge of energy, like I did when Mark kissed me. Something inside me stirred. I felt a rush of energy, my finger tips sparked. "HOLY SHIT! MY FINGER TIPS JUST SPARKED!" I screamed, gaping at Sabrina who softly smiled at me.
"Your and Sabrina's mother were sisters. They both came from a distant city that allowed Sorcery to be practiced, however, here they frowned upon the use of magic. Your mother and Aunt begged myself and John to leave this community, as it would not be beneficial for them to hide who they were. But John and I were stubborn jackasses, and convinced them that they would be okay, that our houses would be safe. Sabrina's mother taught Sabrina her powers, but because each person is different and holds different powers, she couldn't teach you. Your mother insisted that your powers should lay dormant until we could leave. I finally realized the danger that both of them were in. I requested leave a week before your mother died, to leave and found a house outside of this place for her to take you to practice with Sabrina and her mother. That never happened." My dad spoke quickly and feverishly.
"So, you're basically telling me, that my best friend is my cousin, and we practice magic?!" I scoffed, not fully believing any of this. My fingers sparked again. Sabrina grabbed my hands, both of our hands setting fire. She held my hands and smiled before releasing herself, the fire still coating my hands. Shock was just one of the emotions showing on my face. I managed to put it out, looking at all of them before speaking.
"So, what powers do I possess?"
"You're the strongest of the two of us," Sabrina's voice was low, "You can control all the elements."
"Like an elemental?" I whispered, staring at my hands. Sabrina, shaking her head, laughed out loud.
"Well kind of. But you and I are the Heirs to the *Magnus's* bloodline. We're the strongest sorceresses to ever live."
