Chapter Fifty-Four
*Morgans POV*
"ATTACK!" I screamed rushing towards the monster, trying best to ignore the pain in my ankle as much as possible. Sabrina, Meg and our groups rushed through the door towards the monster. Closing in, two more appeared from the corridor. Meg and Sabrina instructed their groups to each take on one of the others while my group followed me towards the one that had grabbed me.
Rushing towards the monster, it swiped it's injured arm towards my group. I quickly jumped to dodge its attack. Unfortunately it snagged my bad ankle and I felt myself crash into the wall. I felt a snap in my leg and fell to the floor. Adrenaline pumping hard, I stood up and rushed it again. My group was quickly maneuvering around the monster, attacking it's legs and arms with as much force as possible. All three monsters were roaring at this point, either from pain or anger. I grabbed the hilt of my flame sword tightly.
"I need a lift!" I screamed at my group. A couple of them looked my way and rushed towards me. They each grabbed a side and before I knew it, I was airborn heading straight for the monsters head. Managing to land on its shoulder, I dug my hand into it holding on for dear life. The monster tried grabbing at me several times, and each time I avoided it to the best of my ability. My group was actively keeping it occupied on the ground. Using this opportunity, I climbed my way to its head. With one swish of my sword, the monsters head flew off and rolled down the corridor. The monsters body froze and began to fall forward. Within seconds it landed on the ground, shaking the entire house from the force of its crash.
"Go! Help the others! Meg! Sabrina! Cut off its head!" I tried my best to yell towards them over the sounds of fighting. I looked around the monster, seeing a few injured from my group, and several others that were strewn through the hallway. "Are you going to be alright?" The injured looked at me and smiled.
"We are fast healing, this is nothing to us." One winced, holding a thumbs up in my direction. I shook my head, smiling to myself. *'Such a crazy group of people, and I absolutely love it.'* I thought to myself.
Attempting to stand up, the adrenaline started wearing off and I was feeling every injury that I obtained this round. Piercing pain coursed through my leg causing me to crumble to the ground. A few of the injured tried to maneuver their way towards me, but were having trouble moving.
"Luna! Are you okay?" Their voices sounding distant, I felt a cold chill cover the whole area.
"YOU FOOLS! You're not supposed to harm her!" A dark, deep, velvity voice pierced the corridor, causing all fighting to cease. I looked up from the ground towards the sound of the voice. A tall, slightly muscular man walked out from the shadows with the monsters head that I cut off. "You did this?" His greenish red eyes met mine. All fight I had was gone, just from one look from this man. *'Who the hell is he? His energy levels are through the roof!'*
"Oh Morgan dear, you don't know how powerful I actually am." My eyes widened, fear evident in them. This man was beyond powerful and he could read my mind?! How were we supposed to fight someone like this? A smirk covered his face. My insides burned to wipe the smirk off his face. With all the energy I could muster, I forced my body to move. Fear coursed through my veins, turning them cold; my brain refusing to connect to my muslces to make them work.
"I will not go down like this. If I'm to die, I will do it fighting!" Willing my body to push forward and move, I was slowly able to get myself to a kneeling position. Never breaking eye contact, I forced myself to my feet.
"Luna!"
"Morgan!"
I heard the rushing of feet towards me. Before I could produce my sword again, the mans eyes flicked to the side of me and a wall of fire separated me from the others.
"Unfortunately, this is between you and I, my dear." His voice chilled me to the bone with each word he spoke.
"So you can read every thought I have?"
"Yes, and I can block your ridiculous mate bond as well." He smirked, his eyes flickering back to mine. "And might I say, you're exquisitely lovely, all battered and bleeding. Makes my job a lot easier, but not as much fun. I'm pretty sure I can still make you scream."
"I'd love to see you try." I grabbed at the air, producing my weapon again. Grabbing its hilt, I pointed it towards the mysterious man.
"Tsk, tsk, my dear. You really don't know who you're messing with."
"I don't care. I will fight you till I draw my last breath, if that's what it takes to make a point to *The Council* that they can't control me."
"You think this is about those fools?" The man's voice boomed through the hallway, his tone light with laughter. "No, my dear. This is because you're mine, and I always take what's mine." His eyes met mine. I held firm as long as I could. My leg buckling from the pressure and pain I was feeling.
"I'm not anyones." I spat.
"Oh, but you are. And you're not that mutts, I can guarantee that. You are mine. I will take what's mine."
"You'll have to kill me first." I smirked, biding time till I could make my escape.
"Oh, that will come, in time. Just like your mother."
My whole body froze. My mind going a million miles a minute. *'He didn't just say my mother, did he?'*
I saw the man smirk, his eyes glistening with an emotion I couldn't pin down. "You heard me right, my dear. Your mother. The one who was burned at the stake in that pitiful waste of land outside of town. The one who I kidnapped and made it look like a car crash. You see, I'm the one who trapped her for years. I showed her pictures of how you were growing up. I showed her just how low I could go. And then, I killed her."
