Chapter Thirty-Three
"Mate."
"Mate?" Sabrina and I squeak. James turn towards me, his eyes flashing between blue and purple. He must be fighting with his wolf for control.
"Luna, may I talk to her in private?" I shook my head.
"It's not my permission you should be seeking." I nod my head at Sabrina, whose eyes are just as wide as mine. She involuntarily gulped before nodding her head to allow permission. I nodded to her. I turned around and walked out the door to the landing. I grasped the landing, a small smile showing itself on my face.
"Where the hell is James?" Mark bellowed, bolting up the stairs to get to me. He looked me over, a scowl forming on his face.
"What's the look for?" I straightened myself, turning to face Mark. My eyes met his before he looked away from me.
"It's nothing. Where is he?" I pointed to Sabrina's now closed door. I watched Mark head towards her door before stepping in front of it, arms held out wide.
"You will not disrupt them." I stated calmly. "They need to talk in private."
"You will not tell me what to do Morgan." Mark seethed at me. His eyes narrowed at me. *'What the hell did I do?'*
"I am telling you now. You will not, and I repeat, WILL NOT step a foot closer to this room. James and Sabrina are mates. They need to talk."
"Fuck this, I'm going back downstairs. Tell James that when he's done with his *mate*, to meet me back downstairs. I will not be disrespected." He spat at me. I folded my arms across my chest, meeting his eyes as I narrowed mine.
"And what the fuck per say is your problem? Why are you suddenly acting so cold towards me? Last I checked, I didn't do anything wrong."
"Fuck off, Morgan." He turned on his heel and marched down the stairs. I gaped at his retreating figure. I felt my heart slowly shattering. *'Why is he in such a foul mood? What did I do?'*
Sabrina's POV
"Mate." I heard him say. My heart jumped to my throat. This man standing in the door way next to Morgan is beautiful. Can I really call him beautiful? I make eye contact with him instantly. The room radiated a type of warmth that wasn't there present to them stepping foot in my room. He smiles at me, a wide grin stretching from ear to ear. That smile. It calmed me in an instant. So this is what the 'mate-bond' feels like. I glanced back and forth between Morgan and this gentle giant.
"Mate?" Morgan and I squeaked out. The man turned towards Morgan, smiling sheepishly. My heart raced just from his smile. *'Oh god, that smile will end me.'* I thought to myself. I couldn't move from my spot. I felt like my world was turned upside down in a second, but seeing him smile, the dimples in his cheeks evident, felt so right. What could I do? What should I do?
So many thoughts were running through my head, I didn't realize this man was speaking to Morgan until I heard her speak up.
"It's not my permission you should be seeking." Morgan nodded her head at me, to which I slowly nodded back to her, not realizing what I was agreeing to. My eyes grew wide as she nodded back at me in assurance before turning on her heel and walking out. The man closed the door behind her, lingering for a second.
"What's your name?" His voice was low, gravely and such a turn-on! I tried opening my mouth, but no words came out. My breath hitched in my throat when he turned his head slowly to look in my direction. His eyes. Those deep, penetrating blue eyes. It felt like he was staring into the deepest parts of my soul. Turning towards me fully, he leaned against the door. "Cat got your tongue, kitten?" *'Kitten?!'*
"Uh, I-I," I stuttered, clearing my throat to focus on my words. I casted my glance to the very interesting blanket that sat on my bed. Twirling my fingers around the fabric, I refused to look up at him. "My name is Sabrina. Morgan calls me Brina, or Bri for short." I said softly.
"Sabrina." He said my name as if tasting it. I took a chance to glance up at him under my eyelashes. I raked my eyes over his body, taking him fully in now that it was just the two of us. He had longish dirty blonde hair, his face covered in light stubble. His body was like it was shaped from the God's above. Dear lord, how is this man so perfect?
"What's your name?" I asked, glancing back down at my blanket. I heard him lean off the door frame, taking slow, agonizing steps towards me. He rested his hands on each of my knees, before gently pushing them to the side, giving him access to get closer. His touch alone could send me to Heaven and back. I felt his finger under my chin, gently lifting it to where my face was inches from his.
"Look at me, please Sabrina?" His voice pleading and sexy sent shivers down my spine. I turned my eyes towards him, staring into those deep, ocean blue eyes of his. He smiled, his breath fanning my face. His cologne filled my nasal passages. He breathed my aroma in deeply, his eyes slowly shifting from blue to a deep violet. "My name is James."
My heart jumped up and down. Sparks were shooting down my body just from a simple contact with him. "I like that name, James." I repeated it, as if tasting the silkiness of his name. He groaned. The sound alone sent me into overdrive.
"Say it again, baby girl. Say my name again." He begged, his thumb grazing my bottom lip. I obliged.
"James."
In an instant his lips met mine, gently but domineering. I've never been the submissive type, but good God, how his lips tasted divine. They matched mine perfectly. Reluctantly he pulled away. I missed his warmth.
"What's the matter?" I snaked my hand up to his face, cupping his cheek. He responded by leaning into my touch. My heart was so full of love for this man already. Now I know how Morgan feels about Mark.
"I just found you, and I have to leave you. There are things that must be done." He states quietly. My hand drops next to me.
"Oh." Was all I could respond with.
"Sabrina, I've been searching for you my whole life, I don't want to leave this instant now that I have you near me. Are you okay to stand? Are you hurt?" Anger briefly flashed through his eyes, but disappeared with his calm demeanour. I giggled a bit. "That laugh, baby girl, is going to be the death of me." He twirled a piece of my hair around his finger. "You've already got me whipped, and I just met you." He sighed. I giggled again.
"Whipped, huh?" I shot him a sarcastic look. He feigned hurt.
"What? I said-" I put my finger to his lips, snaking my one arm around his neck, slowly moving my fingers through his hair as I pulled him down to meet my forehead on his.
"Can we stay like this for a minute longer? Morgan can calm Mark down. I just-" I cut myself off. He cupped both my cheeks and gently forced me to meet his gaze with my own.
"I'll stay as long as you need me, Sabrina." He slowly lowered his lips to mine. A quick, soft knock came to the door. We both groaned a little. He turned his gaze back to me, stealing a peek at my lips, before lowering his head to take mine in with his own. We kissed softly, but passionately before pulling away. He backed up, holding out his hand for me. I took it graciously, intertwining my fingers with his. We walked hand in hand to the door. Reaching for the handle, he turned the knob and pulled the door open. I saw Morgan, her face blotchy and puffy.
"Were you crying?" I let go of Jame's hand, already missing the warmth before grasping Morgan into a tight hug. She nodded her head slowly, pulling away and wiping her face as best she could.
"Did you two talk? You're going to accept him right?" I smiled, stepping back and taking Jame's hand in my own. The biggest, relieved smile stretched Morgan's face. I knew she would be happy for me. Although her smile didn't reach her eyes, her eyes shown all the happiness she could have for me and James. "Good, I'm glad." Turning to James, "Mark wants you downstairs. Sabrina and I are to stay here for the time being. You can find us in that room," she pointed towards the training room, "when you're done doing whatever he needs you to do. I know you are wanting to spend as much time with her, but time is something we do not have at the moment."
He nodded his head at her. "Yes, Luna." I saw Morgan flinch and blush all in the matter of a few seconds. James pecked me on my cheek, releasing my hand and bowing at Morgan. She nodded her head at him, stepping to the side to let him pass. We both watched as James made his way down the stairs.
Turning towards Morgan, I crossed my arms over my chest. "What did the bastard do?"
