Chapter Thirty-Four

"What did the bastard do?" Sabrina's eyes lowered into slits, staring at me and expecting me to answer. I lowered my gaze from hers, slumping my shoulders.

"Come on," I grabbed her hand, pulling her towards the training room, "I'll tell you everything while we get ready for training."

"THAT FUCKING ASSHOLE!" Sabrina screamed. I had just finished telling her what had happened in the past 48 hours. "Telling you to fuck off, I have every right to go down there and kick his ass."

"I just don't know what I did wrong. Maybe the way I handled Raymond?" I tightened up my gloves, preparing to start on the punching bag first. I relieve the stress better when I get a few punches in.

"No, I doubt it was that. I mean yeah, he was probably pissed at first, but you guys had make-up sex, so that kind of defeats the purpose of him staying mad at you. It may be that all this Council bullshit is taking its toll on him and he doesn't know how to properly handle it. But that doesn't give him the right to treat you like crap because he can't deal with his own issues." She stated bluntly. I shrugged my shoulders.

"I don't know." I started throwing punches into the punching bag, Sabrina still prepping herself by stretching.

"I mean, I can see him being pissed because you had to deal with all the bullshit with Raymond, and you did it in the best way you could, by the way."

"Thank you for that."

"But, that still doesn't give him a right to treat you like that. Maybe the fact he wasn't here to protect you is eating away at him."

I shrugged again, throwing punch after punch. My hands started throbbing, but I punched my way through the pain. This was all too much for us. We shouldn't have to focus on a damn war. After about twenty minutes of punching the bag, Sabrina reached out to grab my hand, forcing me to stop the advancement towards the badly beaten bag.

"I think the poor bag has had enough abuse. Come, lets start meditating." She pulled me to the mat and sat down Indian-style, crosing her legs over each one. I mimicked her movements and sat across from her. We grabbed each other's hands, not knowing we had the same thought process. We giggled softly, closing our eyes and taking deep breaths in.

"I'm going to teach you something new today. Something mom taught me while I was gone. You've obviously been training to maintain your power, but now I'm going to teach you how to channel it through the Earth, rather than yourself. You waste more energy trying to channel it through you. Using the resources from the Earth and the energy it provides will not only give you more strength, but it will allow you to maintain your energy and not wear yourself out." Sabrina explained.

"Okay." With that, the training commenced.

*Three hours later*

To say training was easy, would be a complete and utter lie. Trying to channel through the Earth was a lot harder said than done. Sabrina and I kept at it until I was able to recharge myself through the atmosphere. We continued like that until I started getting the hang of channeling. I wouldn't exactly say I was a complete master at it, but I'll get there.

Next Sabrina showed me some new tricks and spells that we can use together, and separately. We both channeled our elements and actually learned how to channel other ones as well. We were both shocked to know that we could do more than one at a time, but it was a wear on both of us. Once we finished training, Sabrina used her power to straighten the room back up again. I mean, it wasn't totally destroyed, but some damage was done. She also knew I had drained more than I probably should of, and I was downright exhausted.

"Lets go change and we'll meet downstairs in the kitchen. The living room should be back to the way that it was soon. We both need to eat something, that's the best way to supplement our energy back. I weakly nodded at her, beckoning my feet to move towards the door. Just hours before, going through that door had almost lead me to my death. To say that those images weren't plaguing my mind would be an understatement.

Sabrina nudged my shoulder, my feet willing to move from their original spot. She made her way to her room, and I trudged towards Marks room. Fuck going into my room right now. The image of John in my shower was enough for me to stay far away from my room. I walked into Marks room and started grabbing clothes to change into. I didn't really care much for a shower, like I should have. Just the thought of a shower sent the images flying back into my head again. I pushed them back as quickly as they surfaced. Nope, I'll skip the shower for now.

Once I was dressed, I made my way past my bedroom door, pausing for just a moment, before heading downstairs into the kitchen. Sabrina was already there, cooking up some steak and potatoes. God I missed this woman's cooking. As I began sitting my aching body down, both Mark and James burst through the door leading to the living room, arguing like a married couple.

Sabrina and I froze to eavesdrop. Probably not our best move, but hey, we were both curious.

"You can't be mates with her! They are both in danger. What would happen if you lost her?"

"I'll protect her, that's a sworn promise. Mark, you and I both know how long I've been looking for her. I was amost about to give up."

"James-"

"No disrespect, Alpha, but I'm going to keep my mate. I'm going to make sure she's taken care of. I will protect my Luna as well." James's voice was disgruntled and aggravated, couldn't say I blamed him though.

"You're lucky you're my best friend, otherwise I would have ripped your head off for talking back to me." Marks voiced dripped with sourness.

"And you're lucky that Morgan's not taking back her mate bond with you, acting like a complete dickhead. Are you serious? You told her to 'fuck off'? Are you out of your mind? What's going on with you?"

Mark huffed. "I don't know. I just, I keep seeing the image of her straddling that bastard and I can't control my anger over it."

"She explained it all to you though, right?"

"Yes." Mark said through clenched teeth. You could practically hearing him grinding them with how tight his jaw sounded. "That doesn't give up the fact that she betrayed me."

"Betrayed you, by saving herself? Would you have been any less angry if you found out she had died? Or if Raymond made her submit rather than her outsmarting him?"

"That's not the point."

"Then what is?"

"She let another man touch her, she was on his lap!" Mark was practically screaming. Tears were rolling down my face. Sabrina glanced at me, pity filling her eyes.

"To get you to come and save her! In my eyes, I would be upset, but that's one hell of a mate you have to withstand whatever that guy was using against her. She used her brains and sought every way to get you to notice that she was in danger."

"I just can't fathom her being touched by another man. What if she liked it?"

"Is she marked?"

"Of fucking course." Mark scoffed.

"Then I guarantee you, she didn't. Talk to her, Mark. That's what you need to do. Talk to her."
