Chapter Fifteen

My eyes widened at the name *Magnus*. They were known to be the most powerful magic users that walked the Earth. I had read about them a long time ago. I had no idea my best friend, now finding out she's actually related to me, and I are of the *Magnus* bloodline. All this was so much to process. I looked at Celestial.

"You knew about this?" Betrayal covered my face.

"Yes, I found out the first night I had spent the night. Your powers become more active at night. Sabrina's are more active during the day because her mother and her were both born during the day. You and your mother were both born during the fullmoon. Your powers aren't diminished, but one is stronger than the other, and because you were born under a fullmoon, it enhanced your powers. I had seen you standing next to the window, as it was a fullmoon that night, and you were whispering things, glowing even, fire enraged in your hands." She glanced down and then to my father. "I immediately stopped you, burning myself in the process. I dind't know what was going on, until I investigated it further. You had no idea what was going on, and I took you back to your room to sleep. After that night, I kept a closer eye on you. You showed amazing potential, but I had to keep you safe."

"WHAT. THE. FUCK?!" I hollared at all of them! My fists tightened, flames now starting to rise and fall from my hands. Sabrina grabbed my hand to keep my newfound powers under control.

"This is why you're so hot tempered." Sabrina giggled next to me. I shot my head towards her, staring daggers. She just smiled, challenging me to try. "Whereas we both can control the elements, I'm more frequent with water, as I'm a water sign. You are a fire sign, so your top element is fire. This is why we don't clash. I'm calm like the Ocean and you run rampant like fire." She carressed my arm, calming me down. "I'm sorry, I wanted to tell you. I was excited to find out we were actually related! But I was promised not to say anything." Her voice barely above a whisper. "I'm glad I can finally tell you and that we can practice together now! I created a room just for us, to be protected. Until we can get out of this hellhole."

"Sabrina, I, I don't know what to do anymore. My whole life is crashing around me, and then finding this out, I don't know what I'm supposed to do." The fire in my hands dwindled as I pulled her into a hug, sobbing on her shoulder.

"Sssshhhh." She whispered. "It's okay. We're going to get through this, all of us, together. I promise. I will help with the powers, we can learn more about our ancenstry and do all the cousin things we finally get to do!" She smiled with glee. I chuckled at her.

"I'm sorry Princess." My dad spoke softly. He walked up to me, pulling me into a big bear hug, nearly crushing me. "I wanted to tell you, but your mother told me not to say anything until we were able to get you as far away from here as possible. The Council ultimately found out who your and Sabrina's mother's were. They tried everything in their power to collect them for themselves, to add them to their own army, but they both refused. I'm sure the car accident was not an actual accident. Sabrina's mother, she told John she had to leave when her sister died, to protect her and Sabrina, but the Council got wind of her escape attempt. They allowed her to leave, but Sabrina was to remain. I hope you don't think your mother abandoned you."

"I know she didn't. I was old enough to understand what was going on. I talk to her all the time." Sabrina paused, remembering that my mother wasn't so lucky. "Mom asks about you all the time, too. She loves you and is devastated we both had to grow up without our moms around." Tears welled up in my eyes but they weren't tears of sadness. I felt my mothers warmth around me, memories flooding my brain, her blood and power coursing through me. I felt her with me. I knew I was safe.

"It's okay. I will be okay. This is all just a lot to take in, and we're wasting our day talking about this."

"This is something that needed to be discussed. Come, lets finish what we need to do, so we can relax and watch some TV and eat pizza later. I don't feel too much like cooking, so I'll order Domino's or something." Celestial nodded at all of us. We all landed in a group hug, my thoughts going crazy from all the information I just found out. These new powers, who I actually was, my best friend's relationship to me, and Mark.

*'Oh my God! Mark!*

"Where's Mark?!" I shot my head up, now realizing he wasn't around any of us during this conversation.

"Mark knew this was a family matter, so he-"

"But Mark is family! He's *our* family! He's my mate. He should have been here during all of this."

"I have been here." His voice filling the room, his scent coming from the corridor. He walked in smiling a big smile at me, Walking up to me, he scooped me in his arms and twirled me around. He kissed my lips gently, trying to avoid getting a scornful look from my dad. "I heard everything, but I didn't want to interrupt. This is something you all needed to discuss. I wasn't going to intervene unless you specifically called for me. Your mind had to process everything first. It's okay, my love. I'm never leaving you. I love you." My heart thumped widly in my chest.

"Did he just say-"

"Did you just say you love me?" I breathed. I put my hand on my chest trying to soothe my heart beat. It was rapid, beating too fast for my body to take. Pain started searing through my body. I looked at Mark, who grabbed ahold of my shoulders, panic swarming in those beautiful Cobalt blue eyes.

"Say it back Morgan, please say it back." Mark whispered. The pain was too much for me to take. What the hell was going on with me?! I looked at my dad and Celestial, begging for answers. Sabrina stood there, her hands over her mouth, fear showing all over her face.

"Say it back Morgan." My dad rushed over, trying to soothe me by rubbing my back. I noticed in my peripherals that my dad shot Mark and death glare.

"I-I-I l-l-love y-y-y-you, t-t-t-t-too." I stuttered through the pain. The pain in my chest started subsiding, giving me the ability to breathe. As I started to slow my heart rate, Sabrina punched Mark in the arm.

"She wasn't ready for that! Her body just fully accepted her powers, she's still weak!"

"I'm s-s-s-sorry! I didn't mean to! I-I-It slipped out before I knew what was going on!"

"What the hell was that?!" Celestial and I busted.

"The mate bond." My dad said quietly, stroking my back still. "There's something both John and I need to tell you... I'll meet you guys at dinner. I have to go find John." He helped me stand up. Once he realized I was going to be okay, he rushed out the room. Sabrina and I looked at each other with a quizzical look, while Mark looked at the door in admiration for my father.

"What does my powers have to do with the mate bond?" I looked at Celestial, and for the first time, she even looked confused. It was a sight to see Celestial confused about something.

"I guess, I guess I never looked up dating between superficial beings." She shrugged, rubbing the back of her neck. "Guess we learn something new every day!" She looked at all of us. We all busted out laughing. I winced, the pain still adamantly coursing through my chest. Mark grabbed ahold of my waist, looking me over, panic forming in his eyes again.

"Are you okay, babe?"

"Yes, I'm okay." I patted his hand on my waist.

"Come on, lets go finish doing what we need to get done. I'm craving some pizza." Sabrina stated, holding her growling stomach.
