Chapter Thirty

Trapped in the secret room, no other exit except the door that leads in and out, I struggled to make my way towards the main door. Did we ever think someone would make their way back here to think of secret exits? Nope. I'm royally fucked. Not only do I not know who the hell I'm up against, but my body is still weak from training earlier. I'm really going to have to use my wits to beat this guy if I want to escape. The amount of telepathy I used to move all the furniture also sapped my strength. Hiding isn't an option for me anymore.

My heart beat is wild, I can barely hear anything over the beat of my heart. I crouch further down and against the wall, silently trying to breathe deeply and slow my heart rate down. I continue to watch as the shadow walks around the room, flipping over all the furniture, destroying everything around, him trying to find me. I make my way towards the door, hoping that the spare key is still around. My mind racing a million miles a minute, my heart skipping with each piece of furniture breaking around me.

"Morgan, why must you hide from me? I only want to have a little bit of fun with you. That's all. Come on out, we can have a blast together. Plus, I think you would realize that I'm a lot better looking than Mark is."

*'Cocky bastard.'* I rolled my eyes, quietly patting the ground around the door. I could probably use my magic to burst the door open, but I don't want to draw attention to myself and he attack me from behind. Trying to pay attention to him and where im searching for the key, I don't realize that he's stopped throwing things around. *'Shit. He's listening for me. Where the hell is Mark when I need him?!'* I try to labor my breathing as best I could to keep him from hearing me.

"Oh Morgan. You think you're so clever distracting me. I know where you are. Come, sit down next to me and we can talk about how I plan to kill you. It'll be quick and painless. I promise." I stop moving. Realization dawned on me, he knew where I was from the start. "You're by the door. It may be dark in here, but I can still smell you. You see, I'm not your ordinary Hybrid. Now, enough with the silly games and come sit. I won't kill you RIGHT AWAY, but please know it's coming. You can ask me all the questions that are running through that pretty little mind of yours. I'll tell you everything I know. You know, before I kill you of course."

I stand from my crouched position, turning towards the shadow now sitting on the couch I thought I did a decent job of strategically placing. *'There's not much I can do at this point, I guess. He knows where I'm at, and he knows what I'm doing. Time to put a brave face on Morgan. You're going to survive this. Think of anything, something. Mark, please find me. Help me.'* I light a small fire in my hand, holding it out in front of me. I manage to see the silhouette of the man a fragment more. Seeing him, he was gorgeous, I'll give him that. I slowly start making my way over to him, moving a chair with my other hand to be seated in front of him.

"Aw, you're no fun. I understand your hesitation on sitting next to me, though. By the end of this conversation, who knows, you might be under me." I could hear the lust dripping from his voice. I scoffed at his remark.

"In your dreams. I'm a mated woman, I highly doubt you'll ever touch me in that manner."

"We'll see about that, my dear." He smiles at me as I sit in the chair in front of him. A part of me swoons at the sight of his eyes glistening in the small fire coming from my hand.

*'What the hell is wrong with me?'* I shake my head, trying to clear my thoughts and keep my head level. *'There's something about this guy, he's using powers against me, I sense that, but his power level I can't quite grip. If I can figure that out, I can come up with a way to defeat him.'*

"It's no use, darling. You're power level is much weaker than mine. Within ten minutes, I'll be able to have my way with you, before I kill you. So I suggest you as your questions before your clothes start coming off and begging me to release you." He smiled again, bearing his fangs at me. My heart began skipping. The attraction level to this guy is insane. He's not even my type. I can only imagine when I became affected by this thing he's using against me. I shook my head, clearing it as best as I could. To no avail, my head began to become foggy.

*'Questions. I need to ask questions. Think of anything. Try to keep your mind clear. Keep it clear. Do not succumb. You can do this.*' "Alright, my first question. Who the hell are you?"

He chuckled, moving towards the edge of the couch. Placing his elbows on his knees, he rested his head in his hands. "Okay, if that's how you would like to start, we can start there. My name is Raymond, I am apart of an Elite Force the Council has created. My job is to either convince you to join the Elite Force or kill you on site."

"Why are you trying to kill me or recruit me? What did I do to get on the Council's bad side?"

"They want your powers, darling. If they find out you're mated though, you'll be no use to them. They do have to uphold the law. I dont care who mates who, to be honest. I believe we can coexist perfectly fine, but law is law and they must engorce it. Correct, darling?"

"I suppose." I feel my body start to slide closer to the edge of the chair. I feel this undeniable pull from him. I cross my legs, forcing myself to tuck them under the chair to keep from moving any closer towards him. He smiles, seeing me fight is obviously making him happy. While I feel purely grossed out by the thought of any man touching me, besides Mark, my body's reaction to this guy is not helping one but.

"You're strong, I'll give you that darling. Shall we keep playing our game?"

I take a quick glance in his direction. "And what game are we playing?" I force myself to sound amused, covering the anxiety that's starting to rise.

"The game that will either make you mine, or you die."
