Chapter Twenty-Six

*Marks POV*

"Troy! Troy! Troy, look at me! Where is your wolf? You need to bring your wolf foward so you can heal!" I used my alpha voice to get Troy's attention. Nothing was working. Both men were groaning in pain, and blood was seeping out of their wounds. I had to get them closed as soon as possible. *'Ugh, where the fuck is Morgan? What's taking her so long?!'* I thought to myself. I looked at Meg, who seemed to know what I was thinking and went to the kitchen to look for Morgan.

"What the fuck are you doing in my kitchen?! Get the fuck away from her!" Meg's voice boomed through the house. I jumped up, not realizing that we were surrounded by some unknown force outside the house. I rushed into the kitchen, stopping beside Meg, my eyes widening, anger coursing through my body seeing this man have his hands wrapped around Morgan's throat. A involuntary warning growl emerged from my throat. I narrowed my eyes at him, a wicked smile forming on his face.

"Alpha." The man spat.

"What are you doing with my mate?" I growled, my claws extending from my fingertips. He pulled a knife up to her throat, close to her jugular vein.

"Tsk, tsk, tsk. Is that anyway to speak to me? You don't want to see your precious Morgan bleed to death do you?" He leaned his head close to Morgan, breathing in her scent. Morgan's eyes went wide, though no fear was showing in her eyes.

"How about you get the fuck away from me or you'll regret it." Morgan's voice quivered just slightly, but her whole body stood rigid and firm. A small bit of pride filled my chest, my eyes never leaving the mans who held her so tightly against him.

"Is that anyway to talk to someone who could kill you in a swift second? You wouldn't even know what happened." He smirked against her hair. Anger was rolling off me in waves. Meg grabbed my arm, trying to calm me down, however; nothing but Morgan being away from that man would calm me down. I ran my hand down my face to try to control myself.

"Meg, go help Troy. I'm sure he's been infected with silver or wolfsbaine. Either way, his wolf is not responding and they both need to be treated quickly."

"But-"

"Do you want your mate to die?" I shot her a disapproving glance that she had the audacity to question me. She glared at me, nodding at me, before running off to go help Troy. I wasn't a fan of him, but I knew he loved Meg with all of him.

"Good boy, Alpha. Now we can talk." He purred into Morgan's hair, looking up at me. "Your woman smells amazing, I can see why you are attracted to her."

"What do you want?" I gritted my teeth, trying to remain calm, before my wolf started fighting for control. He wanted to tear the hands and head off the man who was touching our mate.

"I want this perfect, succelent woman." His hand slowly started moving down to her chest, stopping so slightly above her cleavage. "Would you prefer I ravish her here, or take her somewhere private?" He grinned, his eyes dancing with amusement. My temper started rising, my control weening ever so slightly.

"Get. Away. From. Her." I growled. "Keep touching her inappropriately, and I'll kill you myself." The man tossed his head back, roaring with laughter.

"Okay mutt, whatever you say." He rolled his eyes at me, smirking. "Just consider this a warning. If those other mutts come sniffing around the Council again, Morgan here," he paused, sniffing her scent and leaning his head in the crook of her neck, "will not only die, but I will have my fun with her before killing her."

He glanced up at me, before shoving Morgan towards me. I caught her in my arms, pushing her behind my back. I heard her whispering something, but I couldn't exactly make out what she was saying. Then it dawned on me. I felt her power rise, emotions flowing around her, as I side stepped away from her. I glanced over my shoulder at her, her eyes glowing a golden brown color.

"Don't you dare try it, little girl. You aren't the only one who's a sorcerer." He warned. Morgan didn't falter, her eyes locked on his. Her hands erupted with fire, she took a step forward. "I'm warning you." The ground started shaking beneath us. I grabbed on to the counter, smirking at him. He glanced at me, trying to analyze the smirk on my face. Morgan threw her head up and screamed into the air. The ground beneath the man gave way, swallowing him into a hole. I watched his face contort into fear for a split second before falling into the now opened ground. The pit couldn't have been any deeper than ten feet. I balanced myself, before making my way over to it.

"Don't move." I heard Morgan whisper, before she continued on with her chanting. The fire was growing larger in her hands. I gulped slightly, not realizing how powerful this woman standing in front of me, actually is. *'Mental note: don't piss Morgan off, EVER.'*

Her long, curly brown hair flowed around her, the wind picking up around her as well, giving the flame more substance. I glanced down seeing that the floor underneath her had also dissolved from underneath her, showing her the clear path to the man, whom is now chanting a little louder than her. Her focus never swaying, stared straight at him, chanting quietly to herself. The wind picked up, swirling harder around her; the fire now catching in the wind, creating a fire vortex surrounding Morgan.

*'Yup, definitely DO NOT piss Morgan off. NEVER EVER piss her off.'* I thought to myself.

"Mark, STOP THINKING!" She never broke eye contact with the man, but I damn near almost made her lose her concentration. A confused look crossed my face. I had to keep my head clear, although now I have a million questions swarming my mind. I couldn't move, I couldn't think, what the fuck could I do in this situation?!

I kept my gaze on her, sending her as much energy I could through our bond link, trying to help anyway I could. I could tell she was being drained. Her powers were slowly starting to diminish. *'Almost there. Keep going. Keep doing what you're doing, please Mark. I need all the strenght I can get. Just a few more seconds.'* I heard Morgan whisper softly in my head. She was still chanting, but talking to me through a mind-link. Pride swelled off of me, and I pushed all the energy I could muster through the bond link. I smiled at her.

"To the fires of hell with you and all who cross my path. May the fires that surround me, burn you to ashes. May the fire within my soul continue to burn as you die." Her voice darkened and her eyes narrowed. Her eyes flashed black, the fire engrossed her body. She closed her eyes, took a deep breath and before I could blink, her eyes shot open and a violent cry came from her, sending the fire to it's determined target. The fire shot forward, encasing the man in it's rage. He laughed menacingly before screaming out in pain.

"No! I'm a fire sorcerer! How did she- AAAAAHHHHHHH" Screams of extreme pain engulfed the air around us. Morgan kept her eyes on her target, goosebumps evident all over her body from the agony that was coming from the man. Within seconds, his body shrunk into the fire, his screams cutting off violently. His body melted away into ashes that sat at the bottom of the crevice. Morgan turned to look at the door, seeing another man standing there, his eyes wide with shock, his whole body shaking.

*'How the fuck did I not sense him there?!'* I mentally screamed at my wolf. My eyes narrowed at the man, a growl emitting from my chest. He didn't move from his spot, nor did he close his mouth from staring at Morgan. I growled louder, trying to gain his attention, but his eyes were glued to Morgan. I silently glanced at Morgan. Her normal brown eyes were completely pitch black, the golden brown completely diminshed from her irisis. I have never been afraid of anything in my life, until now. Her eyes radiated darkness, a void that you could never escape from if you happen to fall in.

"Let this be a warning to the Council. Don't come near me again."
