Chapter Forty-Eight
*Morgan's POV*
"Mark."
"Hmm?" His face buried in my neck, holding on as tight as possible.
"We need to go address the pack. Violet still has somethings she needs to discuss with us." I run my fingers through his hair, smiling from the vibrations eminating from his chest. Shivers cascade down my spine from him kissing the mark on my shoulder.
"You're right." He removes his face from the crook of my neck, placing his forehead on mine. Those beautiful, blue eyes staring directly into my own. "How did I get so lucky to have a mate like you?"
"Mm, I'm not really sure." I giggle softly. "But we're a team, remember that." I place my hand on his cheek, slightly pecking his lips. Pushing him slightly back, I maneuver my way off the island, Mark helping me land on my feet. I stretched with my hands over my heads, forcing my shirt up above my stomach.
"Morgan." I froze, hearing the strong voice of Marks wolf. I slowly turned my head to look into his eyes. Those beautiful blues were replaced with dark obsideon that stared straight back at me. "Keep teasing us, we will have no choice to take you back to the bedroom." Shivers flowed down my spine. The images in my mind sent my heart fluttering.
"I was stretching, Mark. That wasn't teasing." I lowered my arms, setting my hands on my hips, fully facing him.
"I don't care." He growled, stepping closer to me, staring down at me as I stared up at him defiantly. "I see whats mine in front of me. I see the person I love, and the person I care for the most in my life. That person is stretching and showing things that only I should see. That is what I consider a tease." He leaned down, kissing my forehead. "Now, we have more pressing matters to attend to, my love. I will be addressing the pack. They should know who their Alpha is. Most haven't seen me, and they all deserve to get to meet "The Wolf." Don't you agree?"
Nodding, I smiled. He extends his hand towards me, which I take, happily. Moving to the side, he walks past me, grasping my hand in his and leading the way out the kitchen. We reach a door that leads to the staircase down to the lower levels of the house. Before Celestial's family took it over, this used to be a house where Vampires would hide out from the humans during the day. When humans had found out about this particular room, they tried setting the whole house on fire. However, the room stayed standing and that is where we are housing all the pack members.
"What are you planning on starting off with?" I asked him as he walked through the threshhold to get to the staircase.
"I'm not sure. I have alerted Meg that we are on our way. She says that everyone is ready and waiting patiently to meet me."
"Does Meg know that you are going to be talking about your past?" I asked him, cocking my head to the side as he looked back at me.
"No."
"Don't you think she should be aware of this before you start discussing something she may not be inclined to talk about?"
Glaring at me, I watched his eyes glaze over, meaning he was mindlinking Meg. He sighed, shaking his head. "I hope you know what you just did."
"Aww, is the big bad wolf afraid of his little sister?" I giggled. A low growl verberated amongst the corridor. "Oh come on! It was a joke."
"I'm not afraid of her, I choose not to listen to her mouth most times. I don't honestly know how Mark puts up with her."
"I heard that." Meg stood in front of us at the end of the corridor, arms folded across her chest. I snickered, watching both Mark's wolf and Meg at a standstill.
"Meg." He nodded his head towards her, acknowledging her presence.
"You cannot come in like that. And are you out of your mind?!" She whisper-yelled at him. "You can't just tell them everything that has happened! Some of us aren't ready to deal with that yet."
"It's something that must be done, you know that better than anyone Meg." He walked past her towards the door, completely ignoring her remarks.
"Morgan! Are you-"
"Meg, stop. This must be done. We are about to go to war. Your pack needs to know who their Alpha is, what he is capable of and how to stop him if he becomes feral. You know this as much as I do." I rested my hand on her arm. Looking into her eyes, I saw her pain and frustration with the past. "It's time to let yourself heal from the scars and to move forward. You know this better than anyone else. I understand the fear you may feel, but this needs to be done."
Meg stared at me and smiled. "I always knew you'd make a great Luna. I'm happy to have you as my sister." Meg embraced me into a hug. Before I could return it, she released me. "I'm not one for sentimental shit, so consider this me being emotional." She laughed outloud at her statement. I smiled, nodding in understanding.
"Are you two coming?" Mark's wolf was getting antsy by the second, knowing that he was going to have to admit to things neither of them wanted to admit.
"Yes, come on Morgan, lets go. We have a briefing we need to do and a war to plan for."
"Is Violet still in there?" I asked, catching up to Meg and Mark as they walked through the door and down the staircase.
"Yes, she is. She's patiently waiting for you. She knew that both of you had some things you needed to discuss. Nathaniel is back also."
"Oh good, I need to punch him for the stunt he pulled on me."
"Mark, it wasn't his fault. Violet explained everything. Once you fell asleep, Nathaniel had rolled the windows down, I guess she was near Mr. Ivrines house when they drove past the barn and he detoured to find her. Needless to say, the mating process was done and she kept you asleep."
"Is she a witch?" Mark's wolf stopped in his tracks and bared his teeth at Meg.
"She's a Hybrid. God only know's what information she has and what kind of strength she holds, let alone powers. Don't kill her, she's Nathaniels mate!" Meg snapped back, baring her teeth at him. "You forget, I am of Alpha blood too, you don't scare me."
"I should scare you. Do you not remember what I did?" He roared at her, growls filled the stairway, forcing me to cover my ears.
"Yes! Yes the fuck I do Mark! You don't think that I haven't dealt with the damages of what you did?! I had to clean up your fucking mess because Father refused to!" She seethed at him, holding his gaze as he towered over her. "I had to clean up the death, I had to follow you and track your ass down! If it wasn't for Troy, YOU would have never made it back home. If it wasn't for me, you would have never found her!" Meg pointed straight at me, my eyes wide from the power they both held. Trembling in the staircase, I heard someone shouting at the bottom of the stairs.
"Meg! Morgan! Is everything alright?" Troy and James bounded up the stairs towards us, Troy in front of Meg within a second, and James guarding me from Mark's wolf. He snarled at James, lowering his gaze to his hand on my arm. I followed his eyes towards my arm. Quickly shaking James grip off, I slid past James and in front of Mark. Everyone was on edge, watching me walk up to this beast of a man, as I gently laid my hand on his upper arm, looking up into his eyes.
"Mark, it's okay." I stared into those obsideon eyes, circling my fingertips along his upper arm. I watched him physically relax, all the anger, pain, and frustration faded from his facial expression. "Look, this is what needs to be done. I'm sure everyone has already heard the both of you by now. Let's just go and get this over with, and no more fighting. I understand that everyone has a part in this past; however, right now, we have a pack that needs us and a war that's going to commence. We need to get our heads on straight, move on from the past and start training anyone who can fight. Violet will be here to help as much as she can, or at least give us the information we need to survive."
"You're right, my love. I am sorry for my outburst." Mark's wolf kissed the top of my head.
"James," I looked in his direction.
"Yes, Luna?"
"After the meeting, I want you to send word to whoever you need to send word to. We're going to need all the man and wolf power we can gather. I'll have Sabrina contact her mom and I'll contact my dad. This is going to be a bloody war, but we will not lose it."
James nodded towards me, smiling. I looked at Meg and Troy, who both nodded their heads and headed down the bottom of the staircase into the meeting hall. I followed closely behind them. Before I was out of ear shot I heard James and Mark talking.
"You have one hell of Luna, Mark."
