26 - A Saturday like any other?
The last days of the week passed normally for Helena. After the collapse she had at home she promised herself to ignore the outside world around her and worry only about recovering her economy and that her little brother would be out of the hospital soon, she did not have to forget that the job at INDUSTRIAS ALLER S.A. was a good paying one and she needed to keep it at all costs, she was very clear that she would never get an equal one with her little experience and no university studies.
"That your boss had to come to your house to inform you of the pending is the first and last time you let it happen" She chided herself, remembering of the time her boss informed her that she only had one chance left for him not to kick her to the curb.
On her lunch break, instead of going to the lunchroom like all the other employees, she stayed at her desk sending resumes to any position that appeared vacant that was part time or night shift, because she would even sacrifice her sleep if necessary, besides for her it was better to stay at her desk and not have to see the faces of others, she preferred to get away from everyone before giving them a new reason to be the center of mockery of their boring lives.
For Sebastian it was the longest and most torturous week of his life, after the unexpected visit to his secretary's small apartment and learning about all the problems in his private life, he expected things to be different the next day at the office.
He had imagined feeling more intimate with the woman, he wanted to know more about her, to protect her, to help her financially, especially so that it wouldn't even cross his mind to go to that idiot who claimed to be his friend, the very idea of imagining that man taking advantage of Helena's vulnerability to get his hands on her made his blood boil.
But whatever she had imagined, it was just that, an illusion. Throughout the week, Helena had again addressed him as "You" "Mr. Aller" and responded to his requests with monosyllables, without even looking him in the eye and avoiding being alone as much as possible.
He felt terrible and a complete idiot.
"If only you hadn't barged so rudely into his life."
Now he felt like he had moved back several pigeonholes with the redhead, and they were back to being the CEO and his secretary like the first day.
The young heir immediately returned the savings he had taken from Helena's account, although he was not able to have enough courage to inform her of that, he preferred her to realize it on her own and think it was all the bank's mistake.
The expected Saturday arrived, but only for Katlyn. Sebastian had been so absorbed in his thoughts, which were mostly Helena, that he had completely forgotten about the date he himself had changed and now he completely regretted it, he had made a serious mistake.
It dawned on him that it was his wedding day when his best friend Erik appeared at the door of his mansion, which had been his father's but which he now inhabited on occasions when he wanted to be alone. His friend stood in the doorway, wearing his trademark broad smirk and wearing the suit Sebastian was to wear that night, which his fiancée had obviously chosen for him.
-Are you ready for the big day, handsome?
Sebastian grabbed the suit and locked himself in his room.
"Maybe if I jump out the window and run away to another country no one would be looking for me" The intrusive thought crept into his mind, but he chased it away by shaking his face.
"Don't forget why you are doing all this, you must prove to that nefarious old man, who unfortunately was your father, that you are worth more than he thought you were so he can turn in his grave. You are going to pull this venture off and Alan is going to watch you win while you stomp on his stupid self-centered expression."
Sebastian picked up the only picture frame he had in the room he had slept in all his childhood, in the picture was a young woman, in her early twenties with long hair like the blanket of a clear night, smooth whitish skin from hardly going outside and a wide motherly smile that was just for him, at least in that picture, which was the only one he had of his mother when he was just a baby and his only memory of her."
-If only you were here with me...- He whispered caressing the glass.
For Helena it was a weekend like any other, since she hadn't been invited to the Aller's wedding, as the blonde had made clear in front of the whole company and besides the redhead had completely forgotten about the event, she couldn't care less.
She had visited her little brother in the hospital and finished the chores around the house that kept her mind busy enough to keep her from wandering into some of the traumas she had boxed up, when her cell phone rang.
They had responded to one of her job applications and she was needed that very night for an important event in the wealthiest part of the city, the salary was quite juicy for just one night, but indeed it was.
"It's perfect to be able to pay off at least one of the debts" She thought excitedly and then accepted the offer without hesitation and got ready to work that night as a waitress at a party.
