49 - The soul to the devil

Helena followed behind her former boss, inwardly wondering what she was thinking to accept everything the man was telling her.

But it was that his voice so deep and confident, and those deep black eyes made her hesitate like no other.

The redhead entered the kitchen, it was as big as her former apartment, where she had lived all her life.

It was as beautiful as it was dreamy, the white furniture, an island in the middle and thousands of the latest model appliances that the young woman had always dreamed of owning but knew she couldn't afford. She looked at the round table on one side and was surprised to see food for a whole platoon.

-Sit down," the young heir ordered her, pulling the chair back for her to sit down.

Helena would have rolled her eyes at that stupid gesture of chivalry, but since it had been so long since anyone had been kind to her she simply accepted, sitting down in front of the varied and exquisite breakfast.

There was a loaf of country bread still steaming with a mesmerizing smell, some oatmeal cookies with raisins and nuts, a glass of milk, a tray with different kinds of cheese. Scrambled egg along with ham and sausage and finally a basket of fresh fruit.

-It's a lot of food, I don't think I can eat it all," she said in bewilderment.

-You're going to eat, even if it's just a little bit of everything.

-And why is that?" The redhead took an apple, "I'm fine with this," she said.

The CEO's face turned dark and a vein appeared on his temple.

-You're going to eat a little bit of everything and I'm going to watch you do it.

-It's crazy...

-Listen Helena," he interrupted her, "I found out what is the most nutritious breakfast for a pregnant woman and this is the right one. So from now on you're going to eat breakfast this way, especially after what happened yesterday....

The young woman dodged the embarrassed look, remembering what she had tried that night. She didn't deserve to be a mother.

-Oh, and by the way, you have your first checkup on Monday....

-But...

-Because you haven't done it yet, have you?

-No..." she whispered, lowering her eyes.

-Well," concluded the young heir, looking at the redhead in silence and with his arms crossed.

Helena realized that he was waiting for her to take the first bite. She had no idea how she was going to manage to eat so much, it looked delicious, she wasn't going to deny it, but she hadn't been able to take many bites for a long time. After that day... everything makes him nauseous and repulsed.

He looked with annoyance at Sebastian Was he just going to stand there watching like a father over his daughter?.

Wanting this all to be over as soon as possible, he began with small bites, listening to the sigh of relief from the CEO, who had now relaxed, lowering his eyes and loosening his brow.

As she took a sip of the fresh milk, Helena shyly looked up to take a closer look for the first time at her former boss.

He looked different from how she knew him, she had never seen him without his typical black suit and slicked back hair. Now he was casual, in his casual clothes.

He was wearing an open olive green shirt, with a white cotton t-shirt underneath. His hair a little disheveled, letting a few short curls fall over his forehead.

"Relaxed he looks more like Alan" she thought bitterly, remembering the man who had sentenced her fate. The young woman blinked hard trying to get that cruel man out of her mind.

She had promised herself to stay away from the Allers, but now she was with one of them again.

"Having breakfast in her own home."

The silence went on for quite some time, until the CEO broke it.

-My men have just informed me that "Your friend," he said with annoyance, "is well.

-Thank you," Helena replied, once again keeping quiet.

She took the last bite of the scrambled egg and got up from her seat.

-Where are you going?

Helena didn't know what to say to that.

He was right, where would she go?

Sebastian saw in the redhead's expression the insecurity and fear of uncertainty and got up from his seat to leave the kitchen.

-Wait here, please.

Sebastian returned with some papers and brought them to the young woman.

-What about this?

-The conditions to close the deal. You don't have to worry anymore about where you are going to live, you are going to have your own apartment and in your own name.

Helena looked up in surprise at the CEO, staring at him with her big, jealous eyes.

-An apartment for me?

-Yes... you must be comfortable and safe while... you know..." he said uncomfortably. - Plus the $500,000 cash on completion of the deal.

-So?

Sebastian swallowed uncomfortably, it was hard for him to say this, he felt like a devil's advocate, he never imagined himself doing something like this.

-When you have the baby, which by the way must be a boy, our contract ends.

-You mean...

-You'll get your $500,000 and you must give me the child and of course... never see each other again. He knew that his lawyer, who was an expert in this type of agreement, had said that once the child was born, both parties should never see each other again, since the biological mother would lose her maternity rights.

But the CEO felt deep inside him a fear of loss, to imagine the redhead disappearing forever from his life. But he said nothing, and continued to explain the clauses as if he had no feelings.

-No one must know about this... No one can know about this deal.

The young heir feared that Klatlyn would find out about all this, he had already planned it all in his mind. When the baby was born he would show up with it, saying he had adopted it from the hospital, that the mother had died in childbirth or something.

He needed to keep Helena anonymous.

Helena clenched her fists tightly, the proposition of money and the apartment was tempting for the situation she was in.

But did she really want to get rid of the baby?

A part of her was screaming at her that it was the best thing she could do after being forcibly impregnated. That she deserved the money and to have a better life.

But after all it was her child.

What if when he was born she wanted him for herself, how could she let him be taken out of her hands forever?

She didn't know what to do, but she had to make a decision anyway, because her brother's medical bills kept mounting with every second she wasted doing nothing.

-I want an advance on the money. - she sentenced

-but...

-An advance or nothing.

Sebastian seemed to think about it, he knew that such a large amount would raise suspicions in the blonde, he had to make some moves from behind so she wouldn't know his whole hidden plan.

-All right. Sign before I regret it," he ordered.

Helena took with her trembling hand the pen and placed it on the empty line where her signature should be.

She felt she was about to sell her soul to the devil.

"Anything to change your misfortune and that of your family. That curse that all Deluna's seem to carry around with them," a little voice in his head said to him.

This could be the chance she had been waiting for so long to finally stop fighting against all odds.

Finally, the redhead signed and handed the paper to the CEO, she was unable to look him in the eye. She felt humiliated, bought like an object on sale.

She felt a stinging on her skin, the same sensation that generated her remembering the flashes of the night at the motel, for her it was the same, a man using her.

She stood up without looking up.

-What's going on?" asked the concerned CEO, who wasn't very proud of what he was doing either.

-I'm going to use the bathroom," he exclaimed dryly, wanting to scrub his body until he no longer felt the invasion.

Sebastian nodded silently, aching to feel the distance between them.

He had gotten what he wanted and all his problems had been solved.

Why didn't he feel happy?
